Good to see you posting again Marydoll hope things get a bit better soon and in the meantime just rest as much as you can
A difficult decís grandmadinosaur did your Dil say how long for and could she be flexible on the days and times to suit you? Hopefully you’ll reach a decision that you’re happy with, that’s the main thing

Good Morning Monday 31st October 2022
(80 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Today , I plan to bus to Bicester and back ,after some housework .
Starting to gain a little weight , and will walk further if the weather permits to build up .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s dry and cloudy with a few streaks of blue sky in my corner of Lancashire.
So disheartening for Ashcombe, I hope the surgery is now going ahead.
Today Mr. B is driving me into the city centre to collect my new glasses. There are many roadworks and I hope the traffic isn’t too bad.
Thinking of all under the weather today, hoping everyone finds a 🦩or 🦩🦩 along the way.
Good morning everyone from a very dull Co Armagh, but it’s not cold
I had the heating on for a few days, mainly because my north east facing Bathroom was chilly in the mornings , wimp that I am , however , backed up by tales of daughter wild swimming in the sea year round , I have turned it off again ,
The south facing living room/ kitchen gets very warm
The breadmaker is thumping away , visitors this coming weekend don’t actually eat much bread but this will be sliced and in the freezer in case they have changed !
Finished my crochet last night , another project is sitting here needing finished , at least it keeps my hands busy and my knees warm !
Thinking of Ash best thoughts to Marydoll 🙏🏼and hugs to all
I don’t know how you keep going GrandMattie , OH had a horror of the home made ramp , kindly made by a neighbour , I’m not sure we used it more than four or five times
Good morning Mick and everyone from a bright-ish and dry Carlisle.
They are putting up the Christmas decorations in Carlisle too Mick and the shops are full of Christmas 'stuff'. Too early. When I am dictator I shall ban it all till mid November!
Yesterday was an indoor day as we had frequent heavy showers. I got on with my admin and reading plus I booked a holiday. It's not until September next year so I presume the trains will have sorted themselves out by then! It's really putting me off travelling, some of the cancellations and changes are really last minute.
Today is housework and laundry and I should really get out for some exercise but we'll see....
I hope all goes well for Ash, it's worrying to need the NHS these days. Thanks to grandMattie for keeping us up to date.
Best wishes to all the unwell, better days ahead I hope GG13.
Good morning from a bright and breezy Glasgow, the weather, not me, due to a restless night.
A few phone calls to make, script to collect for DH and a visit to an iPad repair shop as I dropped it last night resulting in a cracked screen. Guess who didn’t get around to buying a screen saver? 😢
Good luck to Ash and wishing for a good day to all.
A bit damp here in Oxfordshire, seems cooler too. A lovely day yesterday spent with DS1 lots of chatting and eating, the vegan crumble and custard was enjoyed by all.
I've woken with a very sore throat and literally no voice, I won't be contributing much on zoom work calls today.
Thinking of Ash today, I hope all goes well for her.
The field at the back of the house has filled with cattle overnight and I have been watching them instead of getting showered and dressed, a good start to the day which doesn’t have anything planned.
Thoughts with Ashcombe and good to hear from Marydoll; let’s hope for a good enough day despite the ever earlier evening.
Good morning from a slightly gloomy Durham. I was out yesterday with DD1 and her family at the zoo, which was brought to an abrupt end by DGS1 – his behaviour is what I would call challenging. Dark when I got home, but this morning has revealed that the neighbours behind my garden have erected some sort of structure, with three posts currently standing a metre above the height of my fence -I hope they will reduce the height when whatever it is is completed - it’s behind their large garden studio and will be out of sight for them.
Today I will be babysitting DGS2 so that his mummy can attend a local hospital to have her foot wound attended to. It’s absolutely gruesome - an open hole, which is being just packed and dressed at the moment. No-one seems to know if, how or when the wound will be closed.
Nice to see Marydoll feeling up to posting. Some of our regulars seem to be AWOL - hope only temporarily.
Best wishes to all. X
My I envy the pink coat, what a bargain.
Marydoll it isn't smug, its "what you can give back"
Gala I want a group like that!
Good morning from a dry & overcast Sefton. Although there is a feeble attempt at brightening up - maybe a bit of hope over expectation here.
A quiet day yesterday was much improved by a last minute invitation to join DS1 & family for dinner at a local carvery. So no cooking for me yesterday & today OH is on kitchen duty. 😀
Singing group for 'ooh I can't sing.' 'That's fine, you'll fit in nicely.' people this morning. I believe we sound ok from the carpark with all the doors closed. 😬
Special thoughts & ((hugs)) for Ash & all of you with worries & struggles. Hoping the coming week will be kind to you all.
Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast. I’m glad you are putting weight on Mick, that’s a good sign.
Yesterday I felt so fatigued, not sure whether it was too much on my plate latterly or the after effects of the bug. DS and friend fixed car’s electric window on driver’s side and will do the passenger side next, saving me a lot of money.
I think I can hear bins, which means I have forgotten to put out my green bin!
Off into the city, exhibition and lunch with friend so must find some energy from somewhere…
Hope everything works out Ash and thoughts to anyone with troubles.
Hare today (gone tomorrow) in pencil.
Good morning from sunny Sefton.
We’ve decorated the house for Hallowe’en and are due to pick up Mr Busy. Later Miss Chatterbox will join us.
Sending best wishes to everyone. My fingers are crossed for Ashcombe. 🎃🎃🎃
Good morning all from damp and grey South Lanarkshire.
Hope you continue to improve GG13.
Glad you’re feeling up to posting Marydoll.
Thanks for the update on Ash, Mattie, healing vibes winging their way to her.
DH and DS had a great time at the Bob Dylan concert last night., it’s several years since they last saw him and apparently he was much more on form than the last time.
More angel crocheting for me today whilst I catch up with the Archers Omnibus. I know how to live!
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning from wet S Lanarkshire. Sky is lightening a bit though so🤞
Usual Monday post school childminding today with the added joy of dressing up to accompany DGS when he goes out guising. Not voluntary, his special request! So I’ve dug out my witch outfit (good gran) and am praying for rain (bad gran)!
Will be thinking about Ash this morning and glad to see you posting Marydoll even though with less gusto than usual., I hope the rest is helping.
My husband was our ironer too, he was so meticulous, but he’s sister was horrified at the thought of a man doing ‘a woman’s job’!
Wishing everyone a good day 🦩🦩🦩
Good morning all from the Black country, weather still making its mind up but the towels are in the wash so hopefully they can go outside to dry.
Think it's a trip to jewellery quarter today fishing trophies need to go to engraver.
Thanks for the update on Ash thoughts and prayers will be with her at 11.
Marydoll lovely to see you back.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Monday everyone and may you all find some 🌞
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° with blue skies. Thoughts with Ash.
Yesterday I was instructed to go to dd's house by dgs1 who wanted to show me the Halloween decorations. When I arrived I was met by a mini Batman and the baby was a bat. They both looked very cute. Dgs1 was buzzing with excitement and was practising a knock knock joke ready to tell. He also sang me a nursery rhyme. The baby bat just laughed at everything.
Today I'm going back to dd's house after nursery with a little bag of goodies for dgs1. Before that, I'll potter in the house and hopefully the garden. Have a good day all.
Morning all from the Angus coast where the sun has just risen with a peachy glow. Some of the clouds look very rain-bearing, but I hope not as there's washing ready to go out.
I wasn't the only thing here discombobulated by the clock change yesterday - the central heating went doolally as well! I only switch it on for an hour in the morning to take the chill off the house, but yesterday it refused to function. Then in the afternoon I was surprised how warm the sun was making the garden room. Yes, you've guessed it - the heating had come on! It seems to be working now alright, but it's a prompt to get the boiler serviced!
I have the double-glazing people coming in in an hour's time to replace one of the windows they replaced a few months ago. During the summer there had been no need for me to close it, but before I went away for a week in September I had to do so. It was a bit of a struggle, but eventually I got the locking mechanism to work. When I came back there was a strong wind coming out of the north (this house's nemesis) and the bedroom was like an icebox. It turned out that when I had got it closed at the handle, it had 'opened' at the hinge side! Not good. Someone came from the company and managed to get it closed all round, but this replacement is the outcome. Let's hope it fits - it's a large window!
Thank you for the update about Ash, grandmattie. Sending love and healing thoughts - with fingers crossed as well that the op actually goes ahead now. And I'm totally in awe of you and your many kindnesses - doing all that ironing on top of everything else!
Mick so glad you're feeling so much better now. Christmas decorations?! Oh well, I suppose summer is over then!
Now, must fly. Sending healing thoughts where they are required, and have a good day all x
Morning everyone...I was having a lazy start until I read back on a few emails and found the one that said your boiler service is booked for today between 8am and 12....I remember thinking when I booked it... That will jump start your Monday!!!! And it has... Frantic rush to be up..showered...dressed make up on ( don't want to frighten the poor guy this early in the week). Unless he comes early I have no excuse but to set to and get on with the myriad of little jobs that need doing but are boring.
Sending lots of healing thoughts to Ash..Marydoll and anyone feeling less than sparkly this morning.
Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
Very shortly we are going to finish masking up the boat ready for it to be shot blasted tomorrow. We spent yesterday afternoon doing the same. The things I do for love !!!!
I'm sure I will be very tired once we get home and fit for nothing.
I hope Ash is safely in hospital and getting ready for her op. I wish her well.
Have a lovely day everyone, love to all xxx
Ash fingers crossed 🤞 for you today.
Good morning Mick and All.
Bright cloudy morning, is that an oxymoron ? Mary will know.
Good to see you back here Marydoll I rely on you to make me laugh, especially about your embarrassing photos 😳
My DS and blended family returned last night from a sun drenched week in Majorca, hope it’s not too much of a shock to return to the English weather and dark afternoons.
That coat sounds nice and a bargain NannyJ.
Good morning all.
A lovely bright day after yesterday, which was gloomy!
The plasterer didn’t turn up - of course he didn’t! 😤. Hopefully he’ll come today, as we head back to Essex tomorrow. We’ve worked hard to get the room ready for him.
GM you are someone God put on this earth to remind us all how to behave.🙏.
GG glad you’re feeling better. 👍.
Grandmadinosaur think long and hard before you agree and let them know your concerns . This is YOUR time to enjoy with your DH. Don’t feel guilty if you say ‘No’.
Ash you are in our thoughts today.💐.
Enjoy your day ! 🍁🍂
Hello Marydoll! Lovely to see you back.
Good morning all from a damp Glasgow.
Firstly, thank you once again for all the good wishes and PMs. It has given me a boost.
I hope all goes well for Ash today. Hopefully, she will find an improvement in her health.
GM, just a thought, can the haberdasher not iron? Mr MD took over the ironing years ago, when my wrists became too painful to iron. For someone, who had never ironed in his life, he became better at it than me!
You need to look after yourself, I worry about how much you do for others.
I have an empty, I'm looking forward to some quiet time.
DH being anxious about me is making me anxious!
A day in bed is on the cards again and hopefully a call from my GP, but I'm not holding out much hope for that one!
The pharmaceutical company, who make my biologics, have contacted me again, to request access to my medical records, in order to investigate the rare side effects.
I have been putting it off, but may take the bull by the horns and fill out the forms today. The UK Drug Safety Committee have also become involved. It's hassle I neither need nor want!
Co-operation is voluntary, but I feel that morally, I should aquiese, in order to inform research. Gosh, that sounds so smug!
Perhaps I will find my case written up in a medical journal.
Being mentioned in a journal has happened to me before, when I was having a difficult pregnancy. The paper was accompanied by some rather embarrassing photos. 😊 All in the interest of science of course!!!😉
However, I insisted my face was covered before the photos were taken. 🤣
Wishing you all the best of days and that those who are unwell, feel better soon.
Good morning everyone from a bright Northampton, where it looks a bit damp out: must have had rain overnight. Up earlier as it is yoga this morning, and I am usually picked up at about 9am; still have yet to get showered and dressed. Need to finish my mug of tea and biscuit - shall have a late brunch when I get back.
Did nothing much at home yesterday except watch rugby on tv. Caught up with the weekend newspapers, and then enjoyed my leftover Chinese take-away for dinner.
Just put some washing in the machine which will go out when I get back from yoga; may change the bedding and run the Shark round upstairs. Need to get bedrooms ready for DGD's who are sleeping over at the weekend. I've just ordered two warmer duvets for their rooms, rather than the lightweight summer ones that are on the beds now.
Do hope everything now goes smoothly for Ash and she gets her promised procedure. Thoughts are with her, and all those with worries and cares.
