Good morning Mick and everyone from a bright-ish and dry Carlisle.
They are putting up the Christmas decorations in Carlisle too Mick and the shops are full of Christmas 'stuff'. Too early. When I am dictator I shall ban it all till mid November!

Yesterday was an indoor day as we had frequent heavy showers. I got on with my admin and reading plus I booked a holiday. It's not until September next year so I presume the trains will have sorted themselves out by then! It's really putting me off travelling, some of the cancellations and changes are really last minute.
Today is housework and laundry and I should really get out for some exercise but we'll see....

I hope all goes well for Ash, it's worrying to need the NHS these days. Thanks to grandMattie for keeping us up to date.

Best wishes to all the unwell, better days ahead I hope GG13.

Good morning everyone from a very dull Co Armagh, but it’s not cold
I had the heating on for a few days, mainly because my north east facing Bathroom was chilly in the mornings , wimp that I am , however , backed up by tales of daughter wild swimming in the sea year round , I have turned it off again ,
The south facing living room/ kitchen gets very warm
The breadmaker is thumping away , visitors this coming weekend don’t actually eat much bread but this will be sliced and in the freezer in case they have changed !
Finished my crochet last night , another project is sitting here needing finished , at least it keeps my hands busy and my knees warm !
Thinking of Ash best thoughts to Marydoll 🙏🏼and hugs to all
I don’t know how you keep going GrandMattie , OH had a horror of the home made ramp , kindly made by a neighbour , I’m not sure we used it more than four or five times

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s dry and cloudy with a few streaks of blue sky in my corner of Lancashire.

So disheartening for Ashcombe, I hope the surgery is now going ahead.

Today Mr. B is driving me into the city centre to collect my new glasses. There are many roadworks and I hope the traffic isn’t too bad.

Thinking of all under the weather today, hoping everyone finds a 🦩or 🦩🦩 along the way.

Good to see you posting again Marydoll hope things get a bit better soon and in the meantime just rest as much as you can

A difficult decís grandmadinosaur did your Dil say how long for and could she be flexible on the days and times to suit you? Hopefully you’ll reach a decision that you’re happy with, that’s the main thing

Good morning from a sunny West Sussex. I have some bulbs to plant so must get them in before the promised storm arrives later. I had my Covid booster yesterday morning and was shivery and achey by the evening. Much better this morning. I have now completed the trilogy of flu, shingles and Covid vaccinations so hoping for a healthy winter!
Georgesgran your daughter’s wound sounds awful - such a worry. I hope it heals soon.
GrannySomerset how lovely to start the day watching the cattle from your window 🙂
It’s good to hear from Marydoll - I hope some of the research you are contributing to will benefit you as well as others.
Hope all goes well for Ash.

Thank you Brook yes I am giving it a lot of thought. I definitely want to say no but I feel guilty about it.
It will be a half day once a week. Yes she said she is flexible about it and says she will fit in with me. DH says he will do it but that defeats the object I feel.

Good morning everyone from a dank and cloudy bit of the Algarve. Really surprising after last night’s beautiful sunset. I’d been planning to put a load of washing out early but having seen the weather this morning I decided to put it off until tomorrow.

DH is a good ironer when necessary, he puts it down to having been in the RN. It could be because I never learned. to iron his trousers properly. Though now he’s mostly in shorts or jeans and I often leave the few bits that need doing to our occasional cleaner.

The physio comes today but not a lot else planned at the moment.

Good morning Mick and All, from a cloudy North Lanarkshire. I'm hoping it will brighten up because the washing has just finished. Not much outside drying these days, back to the clothes horse although I am thinking of buying a dehumidifier with laundry mode.

I'm just having a cup of tea and some tangerines, catching up with all your news. I'm not long home from church, where I lit candles and said a wee prayer for all GNs who need/wish one, especially Ash, Marydoll, the DDs and the wee babies. 💕🙏
Thanks for the update, Grandmattie!

So, a day of washing, ironing, housework ...haud me back!
.. and maybe making a pot of pea and ham soup, split peas because the lentils have gone AWOL from Lidl.🤣

Have the best day possible, take care.

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 31-Oct-22 11:30:34

Morning all. Thanks for the welcome last week. It’s bright and chilly here in the NE. I’m still getting to know you all. Love reading the posts and hope to interact more in the future. Off on an emergency shopping trip now to look for face paints for dgd. Her mum forgot about hallowe’en! Thinking of all those with difficulties today.

Janiepops Mon 31-Oct-22 11:54:20

Morning everyone. I read you all everyday but rarely post. However, didn’t know where to put this idea, so hoping this will be ok…..
Instead of putting my small parasol away this year, I plonked it over my washing line! Obviously it’s square and rotary line is triangular, but it works a treat! Tested several times this last two weeks, washing dry! I’m waiting delivery of larger one now, to cover the corners!!

Hi all. There are some wonderful grans on here! I am in awe! Its Halloween and there have been some strange and awful films on TV in the last day or two. "Witches" was funny but Betelgeuse was just plain nasty. As for "It" I thought it was just sick making.... Have a good day everyone and special thoughts to all who are ill or upset, xxx

Good morning,

It’s brightening up here, but the ground is still damp. We had a deluge yesterday afternoon, but luckily it stopped when it was time for us to leave the garden centre where we’d gone for some lunch. We decided to wander around the centre after lunch until the rain eased off which meant, of course, that we didn’t come away empty handed 😂.

Need to go fridge hunting, as ours is playing up - it puts itself into vacation mode, which means it switches itself off, which of course is not good.

I hope you like your new car, greyduster. I find it takes a while to get used to where everything is, especially if it’s a different make.

Best wishes to all with troubles.

Marydoll Mon 31-Oct-22 12:03:59

I have caught up with yestrday's and today's posts and wanted to send my very best wishes to Meg, what a time you have had of it. I hope things start to improve for you.

Granmarie, the candles are very much appreciated!

I noticed a few new faces, so welcome.
DH came back from the golf early due to the torrential rain, but only after I had to leave my sick bed to rescue the washing he had put out!
That was the end of my peaceful empty! 😡
