Beautiful tree muse
Urmstongran are you in the first or second series of White Lotus? I laughed throughout the first series have just started the second.
DH is preparing dinner, I’ve prepared starters. I have had such a lazy day, now collapsed on the sofa with a glass of wine and Nativity 2 (corny but hey ho)
Have a super Saturday evening folks 🍷🎄🎁🤶🏻

Happy to be together
All good pals
and jolly good company.
WELCOME to you lovely lot.
‘Evening All’
Glad we activated the heating last night! It’s Baltic out isn’t it? We’ve had a hunkering down and keeping warm day. I’ve chatted to both daughters and my stepfather on the phone. It’s heartwarming as a mum to hear your adult children are relaxed and happy in their homes, getting ready for Christmas.
I’m about to fry rib eye steaks with onions then Himself is going to watch the England match. I’m into The White Lotus on Sky Atlantic so well both be happy bunnies this evening. Right, time to pour a glass of red.
Enjoy your Saturday evenings kitcheners whatever your plans.
😊
GrannySomerset York is a very special city. Sahara clothing is ultra chic. You won't regret treating yourself to top quality garments. They are made to last. Have yourself a very jolly evening.
You must be greatly looking forward to your granddaughter's concert.
You too, annsixty. You deserve as many jollies as you can cope with.
Mumofmadboys Lucky you! Lucky birthday boy! Your choice of location sounds amazing. Enjoy every special moment.
Blossoming No snow hereabouts. Although a snow plow was seen trundling by.
Llfl Sorry about the migraine. I trust that it passes quickly. Mr Soop suffers from time to time. A buggeration with bells on.
Although I am not a footie fan, I have been rooting for Morocco during their match played this afternoon. They won. Their goalie is a star. I also finished a munro of ironing.
Time to log off and look forward to lighting the log fire, relaxing and enjoying a Saturday evening G&T a little later. My best wishes to you all.
Have you noticed that we are heading towards a new kitchen sometime in the near future? You had better believe it.
Back with again tomorrow. Thank you for your company.

Overnight in York en route to DGD1’s concert in Hull. Have wonderful view of the Minster from my room and am contemplating how going into Sahara with DD has cost me so much money. I have however bought two lovely cashmere tunics and a jacket and am immensely cheered by them. Good thing she and I shop together so rarely!
Dinner tonight with DD’s best friend from school days and her delightful mum so a jolly evening is guaranteed. Better have a rest if I am to sparkle.
Hello everyone. It’s freezing. OH is watching football wrapped in a blanket. I have been wrapping Christmas presents today. Loads of them. I have also been taking delivery of any number of parcels for daughter and younger son. They have a tradition that they wrap all their presents when they get home for Christmas. They use my paper, gift tags etc. At least elder son’s partner wraps theirs up in their own home! I then typed up the notes from Wednesday’s WI committee meeting. I may well have not got everything down as I was recovering from a migraine. At some point I will go into the kitchen by and make a chicken pie for dinner. I use a very tasty recipe by James Martin. Have a good evening.
How wonderful mumofmadboys, it’s such a special place and I’m so glad you’re enjoying it. Happy Birthday to your OH 🥂🍾
I’m wrapped in a fleecy blanket, watching the Santa trains. We’ve had a sprinkling of snow and it’s freezing, so quite slippery underfoot. I’ve tackled the never ending laundry mountain and Mr. B is making lasagne for later.
Have a lovely evening out Annsixty with much fun and laughter.
We are staying at Corsewall Lighthouse hotel in Galloway this weekend to celebrate DH's birthday. It is a wonderful place to stay. Such beautiful scenery and fantastic food. A huge thank you to Blossoming for mentioning she had stayed here and was the reason I looked it up. Many and grateful thanks!
Good afternoon everyone.
We woke to snow but it has all gone now, it is slightly warmer but still very cold and damp.
I hope all poorly or caring will soon be feeling better in time for the festivities although I know just how difficult or bittersweet it will be for some.
I am out on another jolly tonight with my GD and her best friend, I hope it doesn’t snow again or freeze before we go.
I have had a couple of unwell days this week but feeling better today.
Every time it happens I think about my mortality so I must get out and try to enjoy as much as I can.
Have the best evening you can everyone and enjoy the football if that is your thing.
Frosty good morning greetings to you lovely lot.
Yia your presence and deep love for your son will be a tonic for him, I'm sure. He certainly needs your support. May he grow stronger and more positive as time goes by. Take good care of yourself. You matter.
muse Your tree is very pretty. Hand-made ornaments are the best, in my opinion. I approve of the slabs. They lend a rustic feel to the display. Take care on the icy pavements when you go for your x ray on Sunday.
Jax The very mention of fish and chips makes me drool. It is my number one favourite meal.
Blossoming All shades of purple ranging from palest lavender appeal to me when I select any clothing or accessories.
brook
Nannytopsy Two years is a shockingly long time between your diagnosis and seeing a surgeon. I guess that I shall also need to wait just as long. I've had both hips replaced...in the "olden days", when the NHS was under far less pressure. x
kitty Your Bertie may be as tall and certainly as handsome when he grows up. That is a good photograph. Will you print it for Bertie? I bet he'd love that on his bedroom wall.
Lovely photo kitty and a very well done to Bertie for winning man of the match. My eldest DGS aged 9 also enjoys playing basketball, he can’t decide if he likes it more than football though
It’s freezing here in Inverness with quite a bit of snow. It does look lovely when sat inside. We’ve also got our log burner on tonight muse but not the mulled wine. In fact I’ve only just remembered it’s Friday and we’re due a glass of wine tonight, mind you we probably need a bit of a detox after our holidays… I’ve had a lovely day, mainly just spent at the gym and sitting with coffee chatting with my pal. We had a lot of news to catch up on
Sounds like you’ve been through the mill blossoming hope things can be sorted out ok for you. I’ve my fair share of eye problems too so I know how difficult all the tests can be
My goodness Urms it must be cold if you’ve turned the heating on
Sorry to hear about your knee problems soop but sounds like you got a speedy diagnosis and treatment plan
Yia just one day at a time for your DS 💐
A hard time for your DGD muse wishing her all the best for her exams
DGD aged almost 8 has decided she has a ‘headache’ every time she doesn’t want to do something, especially going outside when it’s cold. She’d rather sit on the sofa watching tv … DD2 is wise to her antics though and not taking her on. Her headache quickly disappeared when it was a choice of staying in or going to the panto with Brownies. What a little madam she is - takes after her mum 🤣
Hello everyone. Glad appointments are being made and health problems dealt with. It’s two years since my first knee X-ray and two months since the second but I still await a visit to a surgeon. We just get visits to a physio. Exercises don’t help if you don’t have any knee cartilage left!
Did a bit more Christmas shopping and I must write the cards this weekend. I can do it in front of rugby on TV!
Keep warm everyone xx
Good evening all, just catching up before an early night. Lovely news for Imogen JaxJaxky and great that family problems are improving Yia and Muse.
Urms my spare glasses are Swarovski frames, a gorgeous purple colour with 5 crystals down each arm. My everyday ones are very thin titanium wire, also purple, so light and comfy to wear.
And btw Urms having presents before ‘the day’ is naughty!!
Hello all. OH is watching football so I’m reading some old Clive James on my kindle. Milo is sleeping next to me and snoring. Ripley prefers to sleep on the landing bookcase. Sweet dreams.
Hi all, Baltic outside, thank you Amazon for putting my parcels in my safe place, torch out to find them.
Slowly is good Yia, it may take a while 💐
Good blossoming, not nice, but as you say options.
A ho hum day, didn’t go for a walk, too cold, got a parcel posted, last one, waited for forty minutes in the pharmacy for prescription, but it was busy. Then I filled up with fuel, never know who might strike next.
Oven! fish and chips in a while.
Enjoy your evening all x
My Gs is just the same Muse it’s a lot of pressure for them.By the way your tree is grand.😃
Hello Kitcheners. The log fire's a glow and the mulled wine is doing the same for me. I braved an hour decorating the tree outside on the veranda. Looks grand, my nan would say. It has lot of hand made adornments, I've gathered over the years. Excuse the muddy slabs. Much soil was needed for the tub. Water and brush will be out tomorrow.
What a full morning Blosssoming. I wish you all the best in the New Year with the retinal specialist. Hope your eyes have recovered tomorrow.
It sounds like 'Eau Sauvage' is bringing back lots of lovely memories Urms.
Freezing here in Cornwall too Yia. I remember so well my walks to school in Derbyshire after a snow fall. Passing huge drifts. In later years, driving was non too pleasant either. It will do your DS good to have you there. You too.
Stay safe and warm soop if the snow comes your way. I'm with you on the reaching elderly-ness is not for wimps. The physio did a fair bit of twisting and manoeuvring of my leg when examining my hip. Off to the hospital on Sunday yes Sunday for the x ray. Good luck with your knee.
I'm expecting a call from my DS on Sunday. He is starting to cope with his work pressures. DGD2 is there with him for two days so it will be lovely to have a quick chat with her. She has been so withdrawn of late. He is so supportive but says the mock GCSE's have been quite stressful for her.
I think more mulled wine is needed. MrM has just come in from the cold. I'll now recap on more of the kitchen news I have missed this week.
Evening Kitcheners.Hope your all keeping warm it’s freezing here in Derbyshire. It’s good to be here with DS but bitter sweet. He’s lost a lot of weight and just so different, wanting lots of reassurance. It will take time but he will get better. The police have been great. He’s going to do a few days next week just a couple of hours and slowly build up over 2 months.
I love Swarovski Urms nice bit of sparkle.
Take care Soop and kind thoughts to you all.
kitty Bertie is growing into a fine young man.
Blossoming I am pleased to hear that you are being well cared for. Eyes are so very precious.
Went to GP at 11:45 with a very troublesome knee. Have been relying on my arm crutch both inside and outside house. He checked movement Ouchie! Says I have advanced osteoarthritis and damaged cartilage. Made appointment for us to go to hospital there and then for Xray. All done! So...he thinks a surgeon will either advise knee replacement or cartilage surgery. Reaching elderly-ness is not for wimps.
Running late. Love to you all. Snow forecast, so keep warm and stay safe.
Until tomorrow.

Hi friends, I am home alone this evening, DH has gone out to a meeting with dinner afterwards. I shall have control of the remote 🤣🤣
Enjoy your new earrings Urms I do like Swarovski
Kittylester lovely picture of Bertie, how time flies.
Blossoming now you are in the system I hope things are quick, smooth and successful.
I shall wait until 6pm before pouring myself a sherry whilst perusing the freezer for my dinner 🍷
*Sauvage (of course!). Can’t even blame autocorrect!
Thank you for the nice comments for Bertie, what made me smile was the disparity in height!
DH wears Eau Sauvage too, urms. I love it.
Sounds like a positive appointment, blossom.
An early ‘Evening All’.
By, it’s cold tonight and can you believe ... I’ve had to Turn the Heating On! 🥶 Don’t fancy a shower in a bit then dry my hair in a cold bedroom, brr!
We went to the Trafford Centre on the bus today. All our Christmas shopping is now done. The mall wasn’t too busy either which was great. No need to go again now till 2023. 😁
Himself guided me into Swarovski (had to look up how to spell that!) to choose something for Christmas that I’d like. I chose a pair of very bling hoops and of course I shall be wearing them tonight for my book club Christmas meal. To be honest we don’t always bother buying for each other - sometimes, yes, sometimes not. No rhyme or reason to it. Now of course I’ll need to buy a present in return! I’m thinking a bottle of ‘Eau Savage’ by Dior after shave (or eau de toilette as it’s properly called). He splashed this on when we got wed in 1974 and I still like it. Him too! ....
🤣
Lovely photo kitty what a great achievement!
Thanks Baggs, they are always so kind at the eye clinic and I’m grateful for the options available to me. I feel well looked after ❤️
