Hi Bea ,

I echo what the others are saying -
Poor you .

I know exactly how you feel - some NHS services are far from reassuring .

Try to drink decaff tea and cranberry juice plus water to neutralise your urine .
If you are drinking white wine -then it can be really irritating to your bladder .

My daughter has have to be careful she loves white wine , but she calls it battery acid -that's how it feels when she pees .

If you can get an appointment and hopefully some real help not negativity .

Otherwise , treat yourself to some treat a film an afternoon tea ...

I hope that your friends are supportive .

Sending you a big hug and wishing you well .

Oh poor you. You’ve had a jolt emotionally and I feel for you. You are taking solace right now but deep down you do know that the answer to your worries isn’t found at the bottom of a glass.

In the morning I hope you find the strength to deal with your health concerns in a more constructive way Bea.
Xx

As GranyGravy has advised, drink plenty of water Bea. So sorry you are feeling empty and hope you get a good night's sleep and things look a bit better in the morning flowers.

One thing that wine does is to irritate the bladder and make you pee more often, and with more acid urine. Unless you drink lots of water you are going to feel worse, not only in your head and stomach, but also in your poor bladder, which has enough to contend with.

Put away the wine bottle and drink at least a glass of water right now, and get yourself something to eat. Then, after each time you go for a pee, drink another glass of water to replace what the alcohol has wrung out of your kidneys (which it had stimulated to remove water from your bloodstream and make you dehydrated), and continue doing that all night, and into tomorrow.

As soon as you can, do as DollyD suggested, and get an appointment with your GP to discuss this emptyness you feel.

Please get yourself a bite to eat and a soft drink. Take yourself to bed you need to be fresh in mind and body you will think more clearly.
You will be able to process what was discussed with the consultant.
Drinking will blank out your feelings but it won't rid you of the problem. Ring up your surgery tomorrow and request you talk to someone asap.
There are quite a few people here who have serious illnesses both mentally and physically. They are very brave and share their worries on here. I am sure it's much better than sitting drinking and worrying on your own.

You don't say what the problem is Bea, but is there a support group or helpline you could speak to in the morning?

Drowning your sorrows is understandable tonight, but isn't a long-term solution, as I'm sure you know.

Obviously if you don't want to say anything on here it's fine, but if you do, there may well be someone who has been through the same thing and can offer reassurance.

I’m sorry that you didn’t find the conversation with the Bladder and Incontinence people very helpful but as I’m sure you know, drinking so much wine really won’t help the situation.
You describe feeling “empty”, so there is a chance you may be feeling down or depressed, if I was you I’d book a face to face appointment with your GP to have a chat about your worries re the prolapse etc. and explain how you're feeling.
Be proactive, chin up!
