Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in brackley this morning .
Yesterday went to plan with coming back via Buckingham , but not seeing anyone I have got to know.
Plans today usual bus to Bicester , tempted to get a haircut whilst there but as to health I seem to be able to walk further without getting breathless.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dawning E Kent. Wasn’t it horrible yesterday? I got thoroughly soaked in the 5 minute walk back from tai chi, when a horrible squall suddenly poured down, complete with gales!
I have had no further news of Ashcombe but shall let you know any developments.
It was very busy withDL’s visitors, who stayed for 4 hours including lunch - just as well I’d made soup and bread.
I managed an hour of knit and natter at the local Age Concern, just got damp on the way there and back.
I’m trying to get ready for my Bristol trip on Friday - not easy, and am getting anxious about it as, instead of walking to DD’s house, I need to take a taxi. DGS1 might meet me, but finishes school an hour earlier than my train. It’s awful getting so anxious about stuff as one ages, isn’t it?
Take it easy today, y’all. Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Oh, and it’s cold enough for the heating to come on. The thermostat is on only 15C!

karmalady Wed 02-Nov-22 06:13:23

Good morning from s somerset. I am expecting rain later, yet again

I am very very pleased about the walking Mick, good to hear this good news

Today I ramped up all downstairs underfloor heating by half a degree, 24/7. I could not stay warm enough yesterday and there will be a good amount of cash from winter fuel allowance this year. Plus my electric blanket went onto my bed last night

I am relaxing today, a bit of pottering and dusting but I have a long drive tomorrow. I need to check tyre pressures later this morning

Greyduster Wed 02-Nov-22 06:48:33

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Chilly in South Yorkshire this morning. Thermostat is recording 16.3. Sun is just coming up. Had my first proper run out in the car yesterday - I think she’ll do very nicely - and joined my niece and her DD for lunch, which was very jolly. This morning I have an annual MOT at the surgery and the rest of the day will be spent in domestic pottering. The utility room needs a good fettle. Have a good day, one and all. A hug for anyone who needs it. Hope Ash continues to make good progress.

Good morning all. Yesterday was indeed horrid weather wise. We had the 18 month old yesterday and it was one of the first times we had been hit with bad weather on a Tuesday since we started looking after him in April. We took him to the Christmas display at Whitehalls (for the 3rd time!) but he loves going and it gets him out of the house. We will pick up his sister from school today, timed to coincide with heavy rain.

Wishing all best wishes to Ashcombe on her post-op recovery and hoping Marydoll feels better soon. And to all others who are poorly or with family members who are, get better soon.

BlueBalou Wed 02-Nov-22 06:56:34

Good morning everyone!
I have no idea what the weather’s up to as haven’t looked outside yet.
Final morning of watercolours, a rather frustrating day yesterday but lots of laughter and good food.
It was amazing watching the torrential storms from the art studio, there were magnificent rainbows as well.
Off home after lunch, I’m hoping that the weather won’t be too awful for driving.
My thoughts are with Ash and anyone else who’s poorly x

cornergran Wed 02-Nov-22 06:57:41

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset seems dry at the moment, rain due later

Had a lovely surprise yesterday. A former colleague and now long distance friend was passing through after a holiday in the South West. Home is now in Scotland. I’d never met her husband, Mr C had never met either of them but we all got on like the proverbial house on fire and nattered non stop for two hours. A real boost.

General dust removal and tidying this morning before lunch in our little garden centre. A top up shop on the way back before more sorting of ‘stuff’.

I know exactly what you mean grandMattie, things that were insignificant in other years now often cause illogical anticipatory anxiety in me. I’ll be thinking of you.

Take care everyone, hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 02-Nov-22 07:04:22

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s damp and I think it’s going to be drizzly today. The weather here wasn’t too bad yesterday GM

DH picked me up from my coffee morning and we went for a sandwich lunch at M& S. I picked up a few reductions of Halloween items including a light up lantern containing shortbread shapes reduced to £1.50. I put it on my mantle piece when GS came and it was very effective. I also popped into the nearby Morrisons and got a werewolf dress up outfit for GS for next year in what will be his size. It was reduced to £3.60. I love my bargains!

Today I am off to Leeds. Like you GM I am anxious about the trains although when I looked online last night it didn’t look like mine were affected. The purpose of my travel is to see South Pacific which I’m really looking forward to. It is the production that was on in London in the summer.

Take care everyone.

Naughtyneine Wed 02-Nov-22 07:10:41

Morning everyone. It's overcast but dry at the moment in SW Somerset. I'm going into town for Mass for All Souls day this morning and thinking of my Wirral family and the funeral there today. In the end I just didn't feel well enough after whatever it was that laid me low for weeks to travel up in person. I need to continue packing away and culling the Summer and Winter clothes too. It's been delayed because of the upcoming trip to Portugal but I think it's close to be sorted now. Have a good day whatever your plans...and fingers crossed for Ash that all continues to go well.

Grammaretto Wed 02-Nov-22 07:12:28

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Chilly 12° in my bedroom.
The yarn group has been cancelled due to building work at the centre. So just the dentist for me
The American Helpx arrived last night. They came on the train from London and knew nothing about strikes. I wonder how awake they will be or whether they will have jetlag.
I have garden work for them!
I hope Ash's operation was straightforward and she's recovering well.
Have a good day everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 02-Nov-22 07:14:18

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. No idea what the weather is like as I’m still in bed! I have a WI Coffee morning but before that I must finish off the caramel ice cream I started yesterday. A hair appointment this afternoon. My fringe is in my eyes which is maddening. Then this evening a WI Committee meeting. I am hoping I can watch an online talk on London architecture when I get home from the meeting. It is so good to have the wardrobe doors back on. Two guys yesterday did it in around half an hour. Have a good day folks and I hope Ash and Marydoll are doing well. 🌹🌹🌹

Jaxjacky Wed 02-Nov-22 07:18:34

Good morning from a cold, clear S Hants, heating is on. Housework today and must put fuel in my car.
May Ash continue with her recovery well.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Pittcity Wed 02-Nov-22 07:18:49

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A dry chilly day forecast. Our heating has bumped on as it was a cold night. DH will be complaining that he is too hot even though it's set at 18° which is jumper temperature for me. When we were on holiday he complained that it was cold when I set the air con at 21....can't win.
We missed the worst of yesterday's weather here. It was damp and miserable though.
Wednesday morning coffee meetup in the city centre this morning. I think DH is going fishing.
Love to all 🦩 x

ginny Wed 02-Nov-22 07:19:54

Good morning everyone.
Busy day again for me
DD3 will be here for a hour or two with DGS after taking his brother to school.
Craft club this afternoon so must hater all the materials together.
WI. AGM this evening with a Ploughman’s supper.
Hope the day is good to all especially those with worries or illness to deal with.

monk08 Wed 02-Nov-22 07:20:39

Good morning all from the Black country, dry at the moment with a few slithers of blue sky.
Nursery pick up lunchtime then I have an hygienist appointment nothing else planned.
Our heating not working so have made arrangements for them to check it tomorrow, we do have an electric fire in the lounge so we're not unduly cold.
Hope Ash continues to improve.
Enjoy your Wednesday whatever your plans and may you all find some 🌞.

dragonfly46 Wed 02-Nov-22 07:22:31

Good morning from an almost sunny Leicestershire.

We had book group last night and as I have to choose the next book I have decided on ‘Becoming’ by Michelle Obama. We don’t usually read autobiographies so it will make a change.

Busy day today with Pilates, dog walking, coffee with friends and gardening. Hope I can stay awake as I had a rubbish night!

Hope Ash continues to improve and sending hugs to all those in need of one.

Urmstongran Wed 02-Nov-22 07:26:03

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from sunny Málaga. We are still sleeping under a single sheet out here. Same too with my friends at LWW yesterday - we all agreed how mild it still is. The forecast is even better for this weekend. We’ve said we might go into Málaga city on the train. Such a beautiful place to wander about. No plans for today yet.

Gingster Wed 02-Nov-22 07:28:16

Good morning all and I e been awake since 5 ish. Couldn’t lie in bed any longer so got up at 6ish!
Calm and dry outside today - hopefully Dh will go fishing.

Yesterdays journey home from Suffolk was incident free but very windy and squally coming over the bridge.

I went to Bridge club and had a very enjoyable afternoon. Lovely group of friends and lots of laughs. Our Christmas meal is booked, which will be fun.

Today DD will pop in for coffee after school drop off and we’ll catch up with her news. House hunting and cancer treatment!
Oh dear!

DS1 has been head hunted and will start a new job very soon.
Great news!

Isn’t it strange how our childrens lives are so different. Celebrations and commiserations all happening at the same time. My poor head is all over the place! 🤯.

Little DGD will come here after school and I’ll take her to Beavers. She loves all her little activities but says Beavers is the best! ☺️

Hope Ash is recovering well 🙏.
Love your bargains Grandmadinosaur. 👍.
I think we all have anxious thoughts as we get older GM . Things that we used to swan through, now seem so difficult. Keep strong! Chin up! and all that!

Enjoy your hump day! 🍂🍁🌻💐

BlueSapphire Wed 02-Nov-22 07:29:27

Good morning everyone from a bright dry Northampton. Just put the washing machine on as rain is not expected till late afternoon.

Had a busy morning yesterday finishing sorting out and hoovering the bedrooms and stairs.
Got ready to go out for our health walk after lunch, when the heavens opened as soon as I got outside the door. So, back indoors and of course the rest of the afternoon was bright and sunny! I spent the afternoon picking up the button band stitches on a cardigan, ending up with over 300 stitches on the needle, and managed to complete the whole band. Just need to pick up the stitches for the sleeves now, so will start those this afternoon at the well-being cafe.

Tried to reduce my direct debit to British Gas yesterday, as they are asking an enormous monthly payment, but apparently it cannot be done on-line (as used to be the case), neither can it be done via my bank account, so I actually have to speak with them. And the wait time on the phone is forever.......

A lamb casserole to put in the slow cooker this morning, then lunch and out to the cafe.
Wishing all a pleasant Wednesday.

brook2704 Wed 02-Nov-22 07:29:29

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cold, bright and dry
I had a good journey home yesterday, everything was on time and DH picked me up from the airport. It seems very quiet this morning without little footsteps waking me up early!
Today I’m off to the gym and then a bit of food shopping
Thinking of Ash and hoping her recovery is going well
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Beechnut Wed 02-Nov-22 07:32:42

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It looks a bright enough morning with fluffy clouds. Thermostat says 16.5. No heating on yet and have just had my August to October gas bill. So when I turn on the heating it will be fairly true to how much it will cost for the winter months.

I’ve got to gather up some things to start on making Christmas cards. I will probably send them out early this year.

Have a good day all ☁️🍂

Urmstongran Wed 02-Nov-22 07:34:14

Just had a text from Scot Power telling me £66 from the government will be credited to our bank this week.
😊

kittylester Wed 02-Nov-22 07:37:16

Good morning all from, as dragonfly says, an almost sunny North Leicestershire. I can see some blue sky .

DH is off to the gym so I will have a leisurely start Then bed change and finishing my Sainsbury's order.

Have the best day possible everyone.

baubles Wed 02-Nov-22 07:41:40

Good morning all from bright South Lanarkshire.

A day of food shopping, cooking and cleaning ahead followed by group this evening. Nothing very exciting.

Wishing everyone the best day possible, thinking of all those in ill health.
