there re many potential hazards, not only with non-compliant toys, but also child-appealing items.

You can get some lovely wooden toys for babies now - and they don't have to be expensive. Aldi quite often sell wooden toys and they're not only really nice, but really reasonable too. I'm not sure how many of today's parents would be very happy with their little ones playing with glass paperweights or anything ceramic.

I'm sorry fluttERBY123 but I really am not at all sure what you mean.

Treasure baskets are great - ours currently has a wooden and a metal spoon, some textured crocheted shapes, a smooth pebble an empty plastic bottle with coloured rice and a couple of wooden eggs. We change the contents every now and then and explore the basket with our GD rather than 'standing back'.

No idea what this means.

If this is for a baby all things should be washable, chewable, lightweight and SAFE.
