Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet outside here in brackley this morning.
Today an early start for 2 appointments at the Horton in Banbury .
I have to give blood samples on the first , followed by my glaucoma eye test in the outpatients .
I am taking bottled water with me as blood is hard to get out of me .
Take Care,
Mick

Erratum
Bristol is absolutely lovely, but E Kent is the Gobi desert of the UK… not used to do much wet.

Good morning all and I slept a good two hours longer than usual. Typical! As I have to be out and about earlyish!

I’m meeting my two old school friends for a ‘trip down memory lane’. We will visit our childhood houses, school, parks for coffee, churches, and country pub for lunch where we frequented a lot as teenagers. We’ve been friends now for 67 years, - bridesmaids for each other and godparents to each other’s children. So special!

Ash lovely to hear your positive experience at the surgery yesterday. Take care and rest.💐.

GM hope your journey home is good 🤞. I’m glad you feel refreshed after your lovely time with your family.

GG - I hope you get your ‘list’ done. You’re doing very well with all your Christmas preps!

Chrissielou good luck with the new boiler. We’ve got the plumber coming as our water tank thingy keeps losing water and the heating won’t come on. 🤔.

A good day to you all. 🍂🍁

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Safe journey GrandMattiie, you have had a busy time
Hope your appointments go smoothly Mick
You struck lucky with the NHS Ash. Hope you feel the benefits.
Today I have a Drs appointment- face to face! How he can do something about my aches and pains, I’m not ready to be put down! My SIL finally let me know she is not coming this week, so I can relax again.
Have the best day possible folks

Jaxjacky Tue 08-Nov-22 07:52:04

Good morning from a soggy S Hants, ‘rain due in 13mins’ according to my app. I have lifts to sort from yesterday’s callers, dentist this afternoon for a second mould.
Excellent service Ash pleased to hear it. Safe journey home gMattie.
Have the best day you can 🦩🦩

Abitbarmy Tue 08-Nov-22 07:52:00

Good morning from a brightening but damp North Yorkshire. A belated welcome back to Ash and good to hear the NHS are looking after you well. The grand twins are thriving, constantly hungry and keeping their parents from getting much sleep! DS has two more weeks off work then it’ll get even tougher as he works long shifts and will need his sleep. But as with most things this stage will soon pass. Today I’ve got allotment and housework this morning then maybe a ride out this afternoon as the forecast is good. I need to pick up a sack of potatoes at a farm shop, supermarket ones too expensive for little bags. The ‘dark days’ work to be continued also, i.e. filing and shredding. Am determined this winter to get all jobs of that sort done and maybe even sort out the photo collection! Have a good day everyone if you can.

Good morning from a cloudy Black Country, where it is not raining at the moment

The rain held off for our walk yesterday morning. We are trying to organise a Christmas buffet get together in December. One of the members sons runs a pub, and did a lovely spread for £7 each last year.

Zumba this morning, so have to leave here at 9am. How I managed to leave the house at 7.30am when I worked I cannot imagine now!

MrJ's DD went to University in Bristol in 2013, liked it so much she found a job and still lives there.

Wishing you all the best day possible

kittylester Tue 08-Nov-22 07:49:16

Good morning all from a dryish North Leicestershire- not far from dragonfly.

Not a lot happening here today. I had a lovely afternoon with my oldest friend yesterday but I need to recover!

Have the best day possible!

ginny Tue 08-Nov-22 07:38:53

Good Morning from a wet N. Bucks. at least the wind has dropped .
We are visiting my Brother and Sister in Law today, a journey of about an hour. I hope to see my Nephew too, he has so many mental physical health problems but is working through them.

Safe journey for those on the move and
wishing a good day for all.

baubles Tue 08-Nov-22 07:38:20

Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire where it’s 8*.

Hope your appointments run smoothly Mick.

That sounds like our weather Mattie, you will have to get used to a very different climate when you move.

I’ve a busy day ahead. A hospital appointment then work which will be followed by a catch up with a couple of friends this evening.

I’ve prepared a beef stew for the slow cooker, fingers crossed it tastes ok, my efforts with the slow cooker are a bit hit or miss.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Urmstongran Tue 08-Nov-22 07:33:58

A small world - my friend’s granddaughter is at Bristol university and also lives in Clifton.

Sarah74 Tue 08-Nov-22 07:33:20

Actually, I must put in a good word for Bristol’s weather! We lived there for many years - in Clifton - and overall it has lovely weather.

Urmstongran Tue 08-Nov-22 07:27:30

I suspect it has either rained, is raining or is about to rain.
My first laugh of the day grandMattie!
😁

Pittcity Tue 08-Nov-22 07:26:16

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. If it's not raining now it has been and will again soon. The heating hasn't come on though so the house has stayed warm overnight.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day.
I know what you mean about the airing cupboard Chrissie ours is stuffed full and we only use the same few towels on rotation. Only 2 sets of bedding for each bed though.
Love to all 🦩 x

Urmstongran Tue 08-Nov-22 07:19:22

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Málaga where it’s not quite as sunny as the last few days which have been ‘ridiculous for November to be this hot’ according to some who live out here!

I’ve got an earlier hair appointment in the salon downstairs this morning as I’m booked in to have my highlights done so foils will be the order of the day. Then it’ll be up to change and toddle off to LWW with my friend from Bolton (and neighbour out here). Be nice to have an additional member of the group - fresh topics and usually extra laughter with this woman!

Himself will sit in Pedro’s bar on the corner here with her husband. Doubtless football will generate some conversation as while Himself supports Man. Utd, he supports City!

While I’m out Himself has said he’ll pick up half a rotisserie chicken at some point so that’s this evening’s food sorted with a plate of salad.
#lazygran

We had a FaceTime at 7pm last night. The Boy Wonder rang to say he’d swum his 800 metres. I think that’s 32 lengths in old money. He’s doing his lifesaving badge. I’m glad his mum pressed upon him at one short stage when he got a bit bored going that it’s a life skill and he could jack it in once he was in top juniors. He’s been going since he was in Reception and he’s glad now he’s stuck at it.
🏊‍♂️

Enjoy Tuesday all who can. Life is difficult at present for some of you on here and I do realise how very lucky we are doing what we do. x

dragonfly46 Tue 08-Nov-22 07:11:07

Good morning from a very wet Leicestershire.

Very busy day today.
Soggy dog walk.
Coffee in town and visit to M&as.
Second soggy dog walk.
Hospital appointment.
Playing Scrabble with friends.

I feel tired thinking about it.
Wishing every one a good day.

Gala Tue 08-Nov-22 07:08:08

Good morning all. It's damp, dank & dreary here in Sefton. There appears to be a permanent large puddle in the road outside our house. Thinking of calling the house 'Lakeside'.

Meeting friends for lunch today They live in North Wales so we will meet them halfway. Hope it doesn't rain, hate travelling on motorways with all the rain & spray & wipers going like the clappers. Singing was more laughing than singing yesterday. We had some new recruits who said they'd really enjoyed it & would be back.

Have a good day everyone. Take care.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 08-Nov-22 07:05:19

Morning all,

It’s just getting light, not sure what the weather is going to do here in S S Essex today.

I have a busy day, change bed first thing, then I am off to Lakeside Shopping Centre with a list. I have to be back for school pick up and the 7yr olds sleepover, phew!!

It’s good to see you posting Ashcombe put your feet up and let OldDudders spoil you 💐💐💐

Safe journey grandMattie pleased you have enjoyed your time with your family 🌸

Have your best day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 08-Nov-22 07:03:17

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I need to do my weekly shop today - we went out for lunch yesterday and then took Milo the cat to the vet. He had a hair ball so needed a sort of fishy paste! Otherwise, today will be a curtain day! Our new lounge curtains are being delivered between 9.30 am and 10.30 am. Then I will have to gather them up and insert hooks. OH will hang them. I hope we like these new curtains! Have a good day everyone. GM - my daughter used to live in Clifton when she was at Bristol University, I remember it as being a lovely area. We used to take her to a restaurant called Hullabaloos!

Grandmabatty Tue 08-Nov-22 07:01:47

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and looks dry. The skies are clear although still dark.
Yesterday I looked after dgs2 for a while to let dd get organised for her first day back at work today. I also had an upsetting call from my dearest friend who has to go for a biopsy tomorrow. I am very worried about her.
Today I'm up early to start my child care shift. It's a shock to my system! I'll drop dgs1 at nursery then bring dgs2 to my house and repeat in reverse later. Have a good day all.

Grandmadinosaur Tue 08-Nov-22 07:00:19

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It is a damp one but mild.

My usual Tuesday routine of coffee morning then GS after school. Where we have our coffee morning is the coffee shop in a hotel. The rugby team of Fiji has been based there for the World Cup. It’s been a source of amusement how some of them just wander around reception in a towel and barefooted. DH saw one in the gym changing room wandering around in pants with the word budgie smugglers on the front! We’ll miss them if they’ve gone! If they have progressed to the next stage they were due to move on.

It was heartening go to read about your experience with the NHS yesterday Ash after we hear so many horror stories. That’s how it should be.

Safe journey home GM and hope it’s been a respite from your life at home with DL.

Hoping all goes well for you today Mick

Take care everyone.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 08-Nov-22 06:57:59

Good morning Mick and everyone from Hull. I was woken in the night by the rain battering the bedroom windows.

Mick hope both of your appointments go well today.

So pleased you were helped swiftly yesterday Ash.

What lovely family time you have had grandMattie. You must have been very proud these few days.

Today my Daughter and Grandaughters are joining me visiting my uncle in Bridlington. It will be nice for him to see them. On the way home we are dropping in to Bridlington animal park. We gave daughter the voucher last Christmas and I’m getting to enjoy it too. It will only take an hour to get round.
Yesterday the plumber came to install our boiling tap. Of course as often happens there was a piece missing so it couldn’t be finished. So annoying.

Have a good day everyone and special thoughts to those suffering stress and family illness. 🌻🌻

karmalady Tue 08-Nov-22 06:55:27

good morning, s somerset is wet and extremely windy last night. I had to close the nearest window vent in my bedroom, it was very noisy

kaspersky is going to run out in days. I am doing the simple route and have ordered renewal via amazon. I dislike having to uninstall in order to replace with a different one. Not worried as kaspersky is now based in switzerland

I am starting a warm fleece backed tunic later, looking forward to sewing that. I need to do nice things on these bleak days in november

Chrissielou Tue 08-Nov-22 06:51:49

A dark wet start in Oxfordshire. Up early to empty the airing cupboard as we are having a new boiler fitted today. Why do we have so many towels and duvet covers?
Welcome home Ash I hope you are making a good recovery, its early days though so lots of rest, good food and being pampered is required.
Working at home today, before a very wet dog walk later no doubt and perhaps the luxury of turning on central heating, if it all works by then.
Hope everyone finds some sunshine today.

Beechnut Tue 08-Nov-22 06:30:11

Good Morning everyone from a dark Severnside.

After my moan yesterday I made my appointment at a clinic miles away. A few hours later I received a phone call to say I could have an appointment at my local hospital. That made me much happier.

Today is swimming. One of my radiators is cold so I have to see about getting that fixed. I think I know what it is as it’s happened before. I’ll book the service at the same time.

Have a good day all and safe travels 🍃🍂

grandMattie Tue 08-Nov-22 06:23:22

Good morning from Clifton*Bristol. Not looked out yet but since it rains constantly here, I suspect it has either rained, is raining or is about to rain.
I went to get a couple if things for DD in Clifton village and got very cold. I hadn’t expected it to be so cold and didn’t have enough layers.
At lunchtime, we went to concert with a cellist, pianist and flautist in one of the churches. DD was recognised and was asked to introduce herself. Very pleasant way to spend an hour.
DGD1 took me out for tea as a treat when she got home from school. Iris coms home later with either parent using the “tag along” on their bike.
Home today on the train. Back to DL after a nice little rest.
Glad your GP was helpful Ash. Hope you manage rest Marydoll.
Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩
