Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark here in brackley but its dry to start the day.
Its the usual for me today , i will get the bus to Bicester and do my routine there .
One thing I have noticed because there had not been any night frosts or very low temperatures some tress are not shedding there leaves as fast as others , the climate is either getting Wamer in the UK for the time of the year .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dry but dull Black Country.

Only read the first couple of posts, as I need to finish coffee and be ready to leave the house by 9.`15am. Meeting an old school friend who I last saw when we were aged 15! She found me on FB two years ago. So now thought it was a good idea to meet up and catch up on over 50 years! It will be strange, as really we are virtual strangers now.

grandMattie at least you have give your DL a date. Now she will find who her real friends are if she hasn't been able to move to her own property.

Wishing you all a lovely day

Good morning from a grey Leicestershire.

So pleased your DGS is home Ash.
9 loads of washing Mattie! Are you Widow Twanky? Please don’t feel guilty about your DL (though I wonder about the term dear) she has many friends and one of them can step up.

Popping to Marks to pick up a jumper today then just dog walking.
My DS’s cat is having a scan so hoping for a good result.

Wishing every one a good day.

brook2704 Thu 10-Nov-22 08:03:31

Good morning everyone from Alicante, the weather has been lovely and warm and sunny and hopefully more of the same today.
Good news that your DGS seems a bit better Ash hope he’s fully recovered soon.
Lovely to see you posting multi and hoping your DH is a bit better soon. Lovely picture, thanks
I’m just sat at the little window in the apartment watching the comings and goings, people starting their day off to work and a few children off to school. I think today we’re going to hop on the local tram up the coast a little bit to Villajoyosa and have a look around there.
Take care Marydoll and hope you have a better day
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

monk08 Thu 10-Nov-22 08:11:20

Good morning all from a dull Black country.
grandMattie do not feel guilty you have gone above and beyond for your DL, certainly 5star hospitality.
Ash good to hear your Dgs is home and those flowers (soap) are far to nice to contemplate using.
We have the gas coming today to sort out heating again, also some deliveries are due which need signing for.
Good to see you posting Multi hope things improve with yourself and DH soon.
Enjoy your last day Urms and pack some of that sunshine to bring home with you.
Take care everyone and may you all find some 🌞.

harrigran Thu 10-Nov-22 08:12:26

Good morning from a windy NE where the moon is still out.
Slept badly despite having a busy day yesterday.
Did a big Sainsbury shop yesterday morning and had lunch then we had a walk round the estate to blow the cobwebs away. We then took the car to Morrisons and took advantage of their wine offer, they have 25% off when you buy three bottles. I just wanted som Fleurie as I have an order at Waitrose for the Good stuff.
Dinner was cassoulet with roast root vegetables, tasty but very filling.
Pleased you have given DL her final date, let's see which friend now comes forward and takes over.
Sorry to hear your DH has been so poorly multicoloured, enjoy your visit.
Good news that GS is out of hospital Ashcombe, take care of yourself as it is still early days.

Gingster Thu 10-Nov-22 08:15:19

Good morning all and it’s quite bright out there.

Must call the plumber again! He came and fixed a small problem and serviced the boiler on Tuesday. We put the heating on last evening and it’s barely warm! I do hope he can come today. 🤞.

Yesterday was busy - shopping for Dd (a poorly household) , made soup for them all, thoroughly cleaned the house (it really needed it) ! 🫣, walked the dog twice (Dh was fishing), and batch cooked for the freezer. All in all a ‘satisfying’ day.

Today I have bowls club and then I’ll run DD and little Dg to the docs.

I loved Eleanor Oliphant too Urms. I look into Lessons in Chemistry. Who is the author? I’ve got two books on the go but my head is so full of family worries and concerns, I can’t seem to concentrate for long! 🤯.

Ash what a lovely gift, which will last a good while.

Nankate - you’ll need all your energy for the next 10 days with those lively lads!

Hoping you all have a good day, whatever it brings. 🍂🍁

GrannyGravy13 Thu 10-Nov-22 08:16:32

Morning all

Beautiful soap basket Ashcombe do they smell lovely? The ones I have seen have had the most beautiful smells which last a good amount of time.

MaryDoll hope you feel better as the day goes on.

My dear friend is celebrating her 60th Birthday today, she has invited a group of us for Afternoon Champagne Tea at our local tea shop. I am really looking forward to it, food, fizz and friends what could be better.

Have your best day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Gingster Thu 10-Nov-22 08:19:07

Nice to hear you news multicoloured . It’s been a long time. Wishing you and your dh well.💕

Gala Thu 10-Nov-22 08:25:16

Good morning all. Dry overcast & blustery here in my bit of Sefton.

Should be up & about getting ready for my Zumba class but have had a very disturbed night. Have decided on a duvet day instead. No plans for the day but might make it down to the fish van later on this morning.

Wishing every one a good day.

Taichinan Thu 10-Nov-22 08:26:30

Good morning all from a grey, windy Angus coast. It's really mild in spite of the wind and there's 18° forecast for Aberdeenshire later today! We should be well into perma frost by now!
Welcome to multicolourswapshop. You and your DH have certainly been going through the mill of late so I hope the tide is turning for you now.
Wonderful soap flowers Ash. I too must Google them and see what I can find. I imagine the perfume off them must be lovely - but how can you bear to use them!!
Well done grandmattie - you need to be able to call your home your own again.
Safe travels home again Urms.
Yesterday was a 'bit of a do' culminating in a visit to Kwikfit to repair two punctures - one of which required a new tyre. Oh well, that's life as they say, and it's only money 😉. So no run out in the car with my friend - I bought a cake and took a taxi to her's and we had a 'picnic' instead.
I'm off to tai chi - just my normal short class, so no danger of "workshop exhaustion" today thank goodness. Then there's some bits and bobs to get while I'm in town and then home for a quiet afternoon. I do so treasure my quiet times these days.
Have a good day everyone x

Wyllow3 Thu 10-Nov-22 08:33:06

Morning from a mixed sky S Yorks. You are right about the leaves here Greyduster the gardener comes in 2 weeks by which time there will be a 2" carpet to clear from the lawns but not much left on the trees.

You can't see anything else of the garden atm, I live in a wee house with a ridiculously large garden, one of the reasons I want to move next year, I'd rather a little garden to look after myself with just bits and bobs of help.

enjoyed reading your days as much as ever, what variety of lives we leave. It does make me wish I lived near my DGC, to see them weekly and do some baby sitting, but you cant have everything, some have GC abroad!

Definitely right to set a date GM and I liked your post multi nice to meet you.

My counsellor for my nearly ex abusive husband today, she is helpful. What a year! 2023 looked forward to.

ShazzaKanazza Thu 10-Nov-22 08:38:40

Hi again.
Sarah74 Thankyou for the medication name for mums knee. I’ve made a note of it. She had the dr laughing yesterday when he said ‘so have you other health issues’ She said ‘well from the eye brows up I’m in great shape then went on to list everything from the neck down ending with ‘and I do believe I may have a corn in my little toe’ 😂 that’s my mum.

Marydoll 💐 and a big virtual hug.

I’m just reminded of when my grandma was alive Ash and we bought her for Christmas a cat soap curled up on a cushion in a basket. Well they obviously needed to use it because the next time we went there was a wrapped bar of Palmolive on the cushion in the basket on top of the tele. So funny.

Jaxjacky Thu 10-Nov-22 08:41:35

I’m pleased the counsellor is helping Wyllow.
Our pharmacy delivers Marydoll it may be a help if yours does?

Kalu Thu 10-Nov-22 08:44:14

Good morning all from a very blustery Glasgow. No point is using the leaf blower today as the leaves are swirling around in all directions.

Good grief GM, how did 9 loads of washing pile up in a few days? I hope your DL appreciates what a caring hostess you are. You have been a saint.
Pleased to hear your DGS is ok Ash
Waiting 10 weeks for a script is shocking Marydoll! Hope you feel better as the day goes on.

Plans to finish off the frame I started work on recently, apart from that, foutering around and a glance at the to do list.

Hoping a pleasant day is ahead for all.

luluaugust Thu 10-Nov-22 08:49:26

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. DF who visited yesterday has decided she will buy the bungalow she has seen even though it does need quite a bit doing, bungalows are hard to come by here. Off to art group this morning, no idea what to paint so will probably talk a lot.
Glad to hear the good news and sorry some of you are having a harder time.

GrannySomerset Thu 10-Nov-22 08:50:43

The garden is covered in leaves but as it is still windy there isn’t much point in tackling them yet. Am going to a large garden centre with friends today so possibly a bit of C shopping and certainly lunch out which will be a treat. Am revelling in having heating again though if tomorrow’s fitting of a smart meter actually happens I can see obsessive meter watching being a new occupation.

Marydoll Thu 10-Nov-22 08:51:17

Jax, unfortunately my pharmacy doesn't deliver.
Fortunately my hospital meds are, which is a bonus, since I'm miles away from the hospital.
Recently My GP tried to fax an emergency script to my local Boots and they refused to accept it!
It's not easy being ill! wink

baubles Thu 10-Nov-22 08:52:41

Nice to see you Multi 👋

Grandmabatty Thu 10-Nov-22 08:53:31

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and very very windy. I've been out at the back door glaring at an intruder -a cat- and can attest to both mildness and windyness. I can also attest to the lack of leaves on the trees. I did have two piles ready to dispose of but I suspect the wind will have other plans. Marydoll life sometimes isn't fair and you have your share of it. I hope today is better and you can rest later. Multicolour it's good to see you back again. I wish better health to you and your husband.
Yesterday I visited mum. She was inclined to be grumpy but cheered up when I showed her a film of dgs2 from my house the previous day. I spoke to her of childhood memories and that helped too. My friend phoned me later after her biopsy to let me know how she was. She's very pragmatic and resigned to the fact that she probably has cancer. She had had another bout of pain and sickness in the night. I feel very helpless as there's nothing I can do really.
Today I have no plans to go anywhere. I'll do some Spanish and potter around, gazing forlornly as the leaves scatter around the garden again. I haven't decided on dinner yet. Possibly macaroni cheese. Have a good day all.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 10-Nov-22 08:54:55

Good morning from an overcast Oxfordshire, it was a bright moonlit night and I expected a frost, it would have been our 3rd this Autumn, but no frost, usually we are cold and have loads of frosty mornings, global warming indeed, although the walnut is shedding its leaves I still have 2 apples on the tree.

Had to take the car to the garage yesterday, all sorted but had to part with a fair chunk of money and MissOops had to go to the hospital for her physio, but she had a problem last night so MrOops might have to take her back again this morning, we will see what her Consultant says later.

Apart from that I have an empty! All being well MissOops will be going home tomorrow so I will blitz the house afterwards.
Safe trip Urms
GM please don’t feel guilty, you have gone above and beyond for your DL(by now I would have been calling her a BL) and 9 loads of washing is really taking the P. I’m assuming it’s from her friends staying whilst you were away, such a cheek not to bring their own bedding and towels.
Ash amazing, I thought they were flowers!
Marydoll 💐
Hope everyone who is poorly soon starts to feel well again and I hope some of us see some sunshine somewhere today.

Urmstongran Thu 10-Nov-22 08:57:04

The author of the book is Bonnie Garmus Gingster. I highly recommend it.
One of the most enjoyable books I’ve read all year!

👋 to you mcss! Hope your dear man is home with you soon. Well done with those steps what an achievement!

P.s. I’d use those soaps, lovely though they are to look at. A little bit of luxury every shower time. Your grandma would have been a woman after my own heart Shazza. I never save anything ‘for best’.
😊

Chrissielou Thu 10-Nov-22 09:02:52

A grey start in Oxfordshire, not currently raining though. I am able to boast that we now have a fully functional new boiler, sorry to gloat Gingster I hope your problems are sorted today. The boilerman did need a return trip yesterday though as initially our water wasn't hot enough either. DH has had so much training and tuition over these 2 days he could virtually refit one himself!
I've woken with a dreadful cold, I can blame DH for that too, he's been off work with similar this week.
Off to dose up with cold meds and a coffee. Enjoy your day everyone.

grandMattie Thu 10-Nov-22 09:06:05

9 loads of washing. 4 for a week’s worth of clothes, 5 for bedding and towels for 3 people…

Sar53 Thu 10-Nov-22 09:06:18

A good late morning from me. Cloudy here now but was sunny earlier.

DGD3 is 11 today, already acting like a teenager. I will facetime her when she gets in from school.

Admin to do this morning and a new jigsaw to start this afternoon.

Best wishes to all and have a lovely Thursday xx

grandMattie Thu 10-Nov-22 09:10:27

urms, I read “lessons in Chemistry “ recently and it is now one of my fav books. I rarely laugh out loud but did so frequently. Recommended it to every in sight!
