Good morning all from a grey, misty W Kent.
Lovely evening spent with brother and GC, curry, Strictly.
The GC enchanted by Blankety Blank, I forget they don't watch tele like we do.
Sad to hear DF is in hospital with Covid, none of the classic symptoms just felt very unwell, I am staying in touch with her husband.
We will watch the Cenotaph Service and then return GC and have lunch together.
Best wishes to all

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire.

Nothing much planned for today, usual Sunday brunch of bacon rolls and Radio 4 and a walk later.

Have a peaceful Sunday all 🌺

Gala Sun 13-Nov-22 08:57:33

Good morning from Sefton. It is grey & dismal here - that's just how I feel as I had a very disturbed night. Ah just noticed it's drizzling as well.

A quiet day I think apart from a visit to the farm shop for some fresh local veg & some lamb for the freezer as the "lamb man" will be there today. He is also (fairly) local & his meat is excellent.

Good to see Ash getting out into some fresh air & on the road to recovery. Take it nice & easy.

Wishing you all a peaceful day.

Grammaretto Sun 13-Nov-22 08:49:52

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I shall be wearing a white poppy today with its emphasis on peace making.
Would that all those whose lives were destroyed in battle, didn't die in vain.
Quaker meeting on zoom.
It was lovely seeing my DB plus my DD and the DGC yesterday and my DSiL.
After so much wind and rain, it is another perfect Autumn day
Happy birthday toOlddudders
I'm glad you are getting about Ash

We sold our last house to the people across the road gMattie and they must have loved it as they are still there 42 years later! (They were in a divided house before)

Have a lovely Sunday everyone, however you decide to spend it.

monk08 Sun 13-Nov-22 08:46:59

Jaxjacky Sun 13-Nov-22 08:41:05

Good morning from high cloud in S Hants, sun later. Happy Birthday oldudders, founds a better day for you Ash.
I need to visit my son later, taking him to pick up his bike that’s in for repair, my daughter is also dropping in, need to sort out timings.

Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Good morning all and yes Sar and GG very Misty and gloomy here in east Essex.
DS1 and DIL are coming for coffee, we’ll have the remembrance gathering at the Cenotaph on tv and chat around it. I don’t suppose the teenage gds will come - still snoozing I expect!
I’m glad you’ve invested in an air fryer Mick . I love mine and use it all the time. Grandamachrisy I’m sure you will love yours. Just keep experimenting.

I walked up to town yesterday with my trusty trolley -( it’s amazing how much I can get in it) and did some Christmas shopping. Feeling weary, I stopped off for a coffee and tea cake at the oldie worldie tearooms before running back down the hill home. With a loaded trolley it takes me down rather speedily! . 12 minutes to walk up and 5 to walk down. .

I hope your Sundays are full of pleasant things 🙏

GrannySomerset Sun 13-Nov-22 08:34:45

Have valued an overnight visit from DS but he is off after breakfast because he is taking DGS to watch Fulham play this afternoon. It has been very good to see him and we fitted in a productive garden centre visit so this afternoon I can do my spring pots. Remembrance service first though.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 13-Nov-22 08:23:21

Good morning all from a very grey, foggy east Yorkshire. A typical November day.

Had a good catch up with my friend yesterday. We spent several hours at the coffee shop at the hotel where I have my coffee morning. We then came back here to the square and had a browse in a boutique she likes but nothing took our fancy. Then her DH picked her up and I walked back. We’ve decided to attempt a London meet up in the spring. On parting she said she wished we lived closer as do I.

I’ll watch the service from the Cenotaph and have a quiet day.

Happy birthday to Olddudders and you must feel so much better getting back to a bit of normality Ash

Enjoy your day in Brid Shazza

The concert sounds wonderful brook you are living like a local.

Have a good day everyone.

Greyduster Sun 13-Nov-22 08:23:17

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a foggy South Yorkshire. I am late this morning as I stayed at DDs and tend not to get up too early and wander around here. I hope to get home in time for the Whitehall Muster - didn’t see the service last night but will get it on catch up. Nothing planned for today. Curry from the freezer for dinner.
Happy Birthday to Olddudders. Onward and upward, Ash!
Have the best day you can folks.

Urmstongran Sun 13-Nov-22 08:11:23

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we have a beautiful golden sky in the east - a truly glorious sunrise. It promises to be a fine day.

Himself sorted the bedroom yesterday putting back the radiator, tv, mirrors etc. Today we will do the bathroom put-back. I’m going to sort make up, towels, etc and cull where necessary. Then it’ll be shower, hair wash and pick up my stepfather mid afternoon and we will go to a bar he hasn’t been in before (which is our new favourite) then over the road for a curry, as I knew I wouldn’t feel like cooking my first Sunday back.
#lazygran

He loves being out and about and people watching. When we spoke yesterday he said he’d had a very lonely week. His friend of 88y is poorly and so my stepfather hadn’t been to the bowling club as the lounge bar is very quiet at the best of times and without his friend for company it didn’t seem worth it.

We are home now for eight weeks and I shall ensure he has things to look forward to. I hope his friend gets well soon - they rely on one another really. So many of their pals from the club are now deceased. It must be very sad to reflect on ‘who has gone’ when you’re 90y.

ginny Sun 13-Nov-22 08:07:48

Good morning everyone from an overcast N. Bucks.
Lovely day yesterday with our 6 year old DGS. Well behaved and so eager to learn. He is a credo to his parents.
Today we are off to DD1 for lunch. So, hope we will see our oldest DGS if he gets home from work soon enough.
Once back we will finish off our packing ready for tomorrow.
Have a good Sunday , hope all can find a smile along the way.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where its 10°C.

Glad to hear you had a good day yesterday Ash. I'm envious of the glass of fizz, I'm not allowed any with my heart meds and I do miss having the odd glass of wine.
On Friday evening, a few people offered me a glass of wine and thought I had an alcohol problem, 😱 when I reluctantly refused!

Beechnut, I too have a long dress to alter. However, due to the curved hem it is defeating me!

Had a surprisingly good experience at my Safeguarding meeting yesterday,
We have a new Diocesan Advisor, who is one of our parishioners. I was most impressed at his expertise. My friend and I went to the same school one of the trainers so spent some time, reminiscing about the very strict nuns! 😁

Afterwards, my friend's sister asked if I wanted to go for a coffee, where she unburdened herself. It was so heartbreaking to hear what my friend has gone through. Her husband is at breaking point.
However, there is some positive news, she has been moved from ICU to the High dependency unit and there is a glimmer of hope.
We totally lost track of time, until I got a phone call from my PP asking where I was, he couldn't find me in the church!
I said that I was chatting (quelle surprise) in the Cathedral car pack, miles away and the other sacristan was opening our church for me. You see, I can delegate! 😉

I'm off to Mass to catch some parishioners and organise some disclosure applications, and hopefully I am up to date.
However, my voice has gone again, I think the fungal infection is back , I can't stop coughing, either that or too much talking! 🤣

Traditional Scottish steak pie for dinner, DH's favourite, not mine at all! All made with love,🤣

Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday.

Morning Mick, morning All from a clear corner of Somerset.

A stressed day here yesterday, hoping for a lighter feel today as family are joining us for a meal late afternoon. The big question is will the incredibly fussy teenagers be happy with what I offer. Their Dad is guaranteed to eat anything fortunately.

Ironing and some tidying around the Cenotaph service this morning. Mr C pls s to try to find a car under the mud we brought back with us.

Good to hear you’ve been out ash, a very happy birthday to olddudders.

Take care everyone. Hope there is a smile for us all today.

brook2704 Sun 13-Nov-22 08:02:16

Good morning everyone from Alicante, another warm sunny day is forecast
Lovely picture Ash thank you and a very Happy Birthday to olddudders for yesterday! 🎉🎂🥂
We’re going to have a lazy morning, DH has just gone out to buy some delicious looking pastries and we’re going to put the coffee on and sit by the window watching the comings and goings in the little plaza. Last night we went to a Spanish classical guitar concert, we’d not planned it but we’re just walking past and invited in. Beautiful relaxing guitar music in a stunning old building.
Hope you’re feeling much better soon grandmabatty you’ll need to be in top top condition for your little ones next week!
So good to have a buyer lined up for your house gMattie one less worry when the time comes
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 13-Nov-22 07:56:05

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I will put on my black coat and a poppy and go to the Remembrance service in a nearby village. After a sandwich lunch I will Click and Collect the heading tape for the curtains I have nearly finished making for the downstairs loo. Beef bourguignon and gooseberry crumble for dinner tonight. Gooseberries aren’t my favourite fruit, but OH loves them. Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.

Grandmabatty Sun 13-Nov-22 07:50:42

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. It's to be sunny I think which will be a welcome change from the incessant rain. Old Dudders happy birthday. Glad to hear that you are getting out and about a little Ash.
Yesterday I was at a craft fair in my aunt and uncle's village. It was really well attended and I bought a few items for Christmas. My aunt and uncle are well known and they were stopped regularly for a blether so it took us ages to wander around. It was nice to see them so well regarded as I'm very fond of them. I bumped into a lady from my art class too.
The rest of the day was spent doing housework and washings. I have also developed a horrible cold, probably picked up from the boys, and have coughed constantly.
Today I'll do a small food shop and that's all. I have the boys for three days next week so I need some recovery time! Probably gammon for dinner.

Pittcity Sun 13-Nov-22 07:50:23

Good morning from foggy Colchester. The mist was gathering by 3pm yesterday and has increased overnight. Hope it burns off by 11 when we'll join the crowds at the War Memorial. As a garrison City, Colchester has a large remembrance parade and service with thousands attending. It's only a few minutes walk from home.

We had a wonderful sunny day at Sutton Hoo yesterday. It was very busy as they only open at weekends during the winter. Well worth a visit.

We've been invited to dinner at DD2s, so no cooking today.

Love to all 🦩 x

dragonfly46 Sun 13-Nov-22 07:49:23

Good morning from a misty Leicestershire, I can’t see the hills from my bedroom window.

I took the dog back to DD’s yesterday so do not have to rush out this morning.
Walking with a friend later then roast beef for dinner.

Happy Birthday olddudders.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Grandmachrisy47 Sun 13-Nov-22 07:46:39

Morning everyone. It’s a misty morning here in the NE. Another one here who watched the Festival of Remembrance with tears in her eye.
Took the plunge and ordered an air-fryer for collection tomorrow. Hope it is as good as the reviews.
Quiet day planned, but feeling excited about new sofas being delivered tomorrow.
I too will be watching the ceremony from the Cenotaph later.
Must remember The Archers start an hour earlier today ( I’m a bit of an Archers addict).
Hope you all have a good Sunday.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 13-Nov-22 07:39:43

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a grey foggy Hull.

Today we are going over to Bridlington and to Sewerby. We’ll have a walk around the park and a walk down into Bridlington. Fish and chips will be enjoyed and a visit to my uncle. He’ll enjoy a chat with DH about football.

Have a lovely day meeting up with family and friends and enjoying Sunday roasts. Virtual hugs to those with illness and stress. 🌻🌻

GrannyGravy13 Sun 13-Nov-22 07:31:18

Morning all,

Yes Sar53 the sea mist has rolled up the estuary to reach me here.

Happy Birthday OldDudders sounds like you are taking little steps on the road to recovery Ashcombe

I thought the Festival of Remembrance was so very poignant last night, I always find a tear escapes.

A quiet day here in GravyGrange, I want to finish my book and maybe watch a couple of episodes of the latest series of The Crown.

Roast Chicken for dinner later.

Wishing you all a peaceful and reflective Remembrance Sunday 🙋‍♀️🦩

kittylester Sun 13-Nov-22 07:24:05

Good morning all from a just light North Leicestershire.

Roast pork etc for lunch with DD2 and family before they set off home. It has been so lovely to have them here.

BlueBalou Sun 13-Nov-22 07:23:07

Good morning everyone from a damp Wiltshire village.
We are walking down to the village to the war memorial service this morning, it’s always well attended but apart from that nothing planned.
I have no idea what we’re having for lunch (I didn’t get anything out of the freezer) so I will need to find something. I quite fancy jacket potatoes but DH will complain - perhaps a pub lunch might be a nice idea 💡
Have a good day everyone x

Beechnut Sun 13-Nov-22 07:06:53

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. I’ll be joining you out in the fresh air karma.
I’m going to weed and tidy my front garden. Even Beechnutella remarked on the weeds so it must be bad 🤣. After she left I went into the bathroom and found she’d left the expanding shaving mirror stretched out just like her dad used to do. I found it a comforting sight.
She took my laptop home with her as I have a had a problem for ages and I’ve no idea what to do 😩 She also pinned up my new long dress for length while I tried to stay as upright as I could. I can now cut some off and hem properly.

Happy Birthday olddudders 🍺🎉

Have a good day all and enjoy your roasts 🦩🥩🥔🥬
