I have bought and wrapped all my Christmas presents.
Husband doing cards this weekšŸ¤ž

Lathyrus Mon 14-Nov-22 09:45:32

Wow!

I guess I need to start thinking about it in a couple of weeks😬

Daddima Mon 14-Nov-22 09:48:48

I only buy ā€˜wee mindings’ to go with the grandchildrens’ money envelopes, and, as I’ll be away all of December, I may wrap today. I gave up on cards long ago!
Before we started going away at Christmas, I’d be wrapping at the last minute, so I salute your organisation!

I was just saying I've turned into the kind of person I've always disliked!

All presents bought and planning to finish wrapping them this afternoon. Cards next!

I'm not a 'Christmas person" and my mental health suffers at this time of year. However with all presents bought early this year I'm feeling a lot more positive than normal

MiniMoon Mon 14-Nov-22 09:52:17

My cards are all written and stamped ready for posting. All the Christmas gifts are bought but not yet wrapped, that will happen this week.
I had to do it early this year as we are off to New York at the end of the month.

nadateturbe Mon 14-Nov-22 09:53:04

I think that's brilliant Sago.

All I've done so far is ask my DD what the boys want. ie choose some presents for me and I'll order. I better get a move on!
I bought cards last year in Barnardos, but I'm reducing how many I send.

nadateturbe Mon 14-Nov-22 09:54:06

You're all so organised! 😲

I wish I was doing it due to a trip to NY!
I just cannot cope with the shops at Christmas and all the plastic tat!
We also have a work project due to start in December.
I have become that person.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 14-Nov-22 09:56:56

All gifts that I have bought are wrapped I just need to crack on this week and hopefully finish buying.

I intend to write card tomorrow and Wednesday.

I love having a big family ( 5 AC along with wives/partners, 8 GC, sister/BiL and nieces) so gift buying is rather a large task at Gravy Grange 🤣🤣🤣

Once all the above are finished I can crack on with the cooking, baking and stocking the freezer as we have 20 for lunch on Christmas Day along with family staying for however long they decide.

I am nearly done present wise got a trip to Dublin Christmas shopping booked for last minute gifts. I like to be organised.

nadateturbe Mon 14-Nov-22 10:47:44

Redhead56 Dublin is lovely to visit, but is shopping not expensive?

M0nica Mon 14-Nov-22 10:49:26

DDiL has a birthday on 29th November, and while I do a lot of shopping and cooking and present buying well before then, wrapping of presents and cards do not get done before her birthday, to make sure it doesn't get lost in Christmas preparations.

Grandmabatty Mon 14-Nov-22 11:00:21

My son and grandson 2 share a birthday on Saturday so I've always left Christmas until after then. I have some presents bought but I'll wrap in fits and starts in early December. The cards will be written and posted then too.

šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ OP!
I’ve bought a few, but haven’t wrapped anything yet. Must start getting organised - trip to family up north soon, and will need to take presents, though by general agreement we’re doing fewer this year.

Except for dh - nice new slippers - adult presents will all be relatively small edibles - I’ve stopped buying ā€˜stuff’ for anyone but young Gdcs. The usual cash for dds plus something little to open - dd1 has said she could really do with some new socks! So that’s easy.

Witzend Mon 14-Nov-22 11:14:58

As for cards, I like to get them done by the end of November - and posted as near as poss to 1st December - not least because that way 2nd class stamps for U.K. will be fine.
Quite a few of ours are far-flung overseas ones, though.

Harris27 Mon 14-Nov-22 11:26:28

That’s brill and so positive. I’m usually organised I have a few gifts but not loads as I’ve decided gc will have money and vouchers this year with a few small gifts. So don’t feel stressed unduly. I’m off work today a little unwell so will sort my list out. Well done to you all organised gransnetters.

Am amazed, in a good way.smile

I’m afraid that I am a grinch! DH and I have 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 greats! As a consequence we only give to under 18s anymore. It’s mainly £££ now rather than presents. There’s a couple of exceptions for friends with whom we are having a long term bad taste cheapo competition with.
Cards are now sent from the Jackie Lawson e-cards app except for older relatives who are not connected. Much less stressful and I really, really hate shopping!

AreWeThereYet Mon 14-Nov-22 14:48:17

Sadly we buy very few presents these day. We've had a rule for along time children only, mainly because AC were finding it difficult to pay for gifts for everyone at one time. I used to love buying the young children presents, but now they are all adults they mainly want money to put towards larger things they need/want. I'm looking forward to the next raft of babies grin Instead of gifts for the adults we quite usually do something like pay for a night away for them or a meal out, when Christmas is done and dusted. We still send and receive loads of cards as none of the family live close by any more.

grannyrebel7 Mon 14-Nov-22 14:55:04

I can't believe all this! I can't even think about Christmas in November.

Alioop Mon 14-Nov-22 18:47:38

Christmas present shopping completed and cards bought. The wrapping will commence in a couple of weeks time. I hate the shops in December with manic shoppers pushing and shoving, long queues and stuff everywhere. I'd rather be at home with a Christmas film on getting me in the mood for the festive season with a cuppa and a mince pie or two.

M0nica Mon 14-Nov-22 19:05:09

Was out and driving about today and I was amazed by the number of people who have already got their Christmas lights up and on.

Snap, cards dressed and stamped too. Takes so much pressure off.
I just had then by the TV and did then in chunks. Virtue? Not so much, as "pressure avoidance tactics".

Wyllow3 Mon 14-Nov-22 19:10:30

I also got pressies online! Admit, not too many to do.

Passthechocolates Mon 14-Nov-22 19:11:26

Last minute for me, I always intend to be organised but I doubt it will ever happen. The Christmas rush adds to the atmosphere for me, I couldn’t be doing with Christmas in November!
