Morning Mick and All.

Grey in South Bucks.

grandMattie you have been such a good friend to you DL and she us fortunate that you have helped her so much. You have made the right decision.

Back early from looking after the two boys. Eldest coughing and and ill during Sunday night DH sat with him from 2.00 - 4.00am, what a star he is, and yes the 11 year old has COVID! He refused all food, unheard of, but by lunchtime he said he thought he could manage a sausage sandwich ! His mother who lives nearby and who also has covid collected him and his brother later on Monday. We have come home and are keeping our fingers crossed we are Covid free. We are all jabbed up but could still be affected but hopefully not too badly.

Sending all best wishes to Ash 💐

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dry but cold here.
Sorry to hear Ash is in hospital. flowers

gMattie would DL be able to move back into her own house for a while? How many weeks has she been convalescing now?
December 15th is another month.
You must make sure her friends know the situation too.

After yarn group, I am collecting DMiL to take her and DBiLto the community lunch. The boiler in her house has broken so she has no hot water until next week. Then my car lights are to be fixed and my next helpers arrive. Busy day again.

I hope everyone has the best day possible.

Morning Mick, morning All from a very soggy corner of Somerset.

Pleased with paper sorting yesterday today it’s back to routine. Grocery delivery, laundry and dust removal this morning, a meeting with some neighbours and our development area manager in our conservatory after lunch followed by feet up with a book.

I’m so sorry ash is back in hospital. Will be thinking of her and hoping for a speedy recovery, thank you for the update grandmattie.

It seems as if your lodger has fair weather friends grandmattie, a necessary conversation and please have no discomfort about it. Good luck with the blood test mick.

Take care everyone. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all

Good morning from Essex by the sea. It has been raining overnight and I believe today will be wet.
Oh GM what a lovely person you are but there comes a time when you have to think of yourself.
I'm sorry to hear about Ash, I wish her well.
This morning sees the start of the new flooring in the hall. Looking forward to seeing it finished but hate having someone working here for a few days.
Yesterday we bought an air fryer so I will be trying it out today. I ordered a cookbook yesterday to get me started.
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone xxx

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It looks to be a brighter day the last couple, Yesterday was a horrible one just rain all day.

Sending good wishes to Ash one thing she could do without as she recovers from her op 💐

A difficult chat GM good that you are sticking to your guns. Yes it absolutely shows who her true friends are.

I have an shopping delivery this morning then a hair appointment later. Might do a light lunch with DH as yesterdays didn’t happen due to a misunderstanding.

Just heard on the radio news about Trump 😬

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

Thankyou for the news about Ash and sending her my very best wishes. 🤞she is in and out of hospital quickly.

grandMattie I can’t imagine how that conversation must have felt for you. I’d have found it very hard too but you have done so much already. 💐

Today I’ll go to the gym. Later I have to go and pick up a calendar from the young artist who did the queens jubilee Paddington picture. It’s a Christmas present for a friend. Picking up GS from school and my sister in law is coming for her evening meal tonight as she wants to look through our photos she’s doing a family wall. Not quite sure what she’s looking for. Hoping Grandson is comfortable with her being here.

Hoping you all have a good day and virtual hugs to those suffering illness and stress. 🌻🌻

Oh dear, poor Ash. I hope you’re home again very soon x

Good morning from a soaking Wiltshire, it’s piddling down out there again. DDog won’t want to go out so there may be a tussle at the door to get going!
Gosh GM, well done in insisting. You’ve done far more than I would have and it’s interesting that no other friends stepped up, isn’t it? You must be exhausted, it’s high time she moved on imo. I’m always happy to help others but I got taken for a ride in a similar situation and never again.
Waitrose shop coming today, spoiling myself! And I need to sort out materials for art class tomorrow.

Thanks for that info, GM. Always follow Ash's activities. She's one of a kind.

grandMattie Wed 16-Nov-22 06:27:47

Just had a pm from Ashcombe. She’s in hospital waiting for tests; she is suspected to have pneumonia.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

karmalady Wed 16-Nov-22 06:27:25

GM, I almost added to my post` she will know who her friends really are`

karmalady Wed 16-Nov-22 06:26:22

Good morning, s somerset was very rainy last night, hammering on the windows and kept me awake

GM I was wondering if you would be brave enough to have that conversation, I am glad you summoned up the courage and you gave her enough time to arrange hotel or airbnb, well done

I have a natter group later but won`t be going in the rain, then a friend coming later today. Just a pottering day

grandMattie Wed 16-Nov-22 06:24:02

DL has booked two weeks at the local hotel. No friend has offered to have her!

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 16-Nov-22 06:15:06

Oh dear GM, that must have been such a difficult conversation. At least, from what you have said, she has other friends who can put her up. It sounds like you have been honest with her so she can make other arrangements.

grandMattie Wed 16-Nov-22 06:11:43

Good morning from a dark and wet E Kent. There was a lot of rain in the night, a squall woke me up.
Had a difficult conversation with DL yesterday, which distressed me enormously. Her hose purchase was supposed to be on 9 December, soi agreed to have her an extra week. It was then set for 12 December, I agreed to an extension. Yesterday, I heard that it was now 15 December or “very near Christmas “. I had to say that I absolutely couldn’t have her any longer as I needed to tilt the house up and prepare to spend the week before Christmas looking after the DGDs. It made me feel a real rat. She was very understanding but I still feel rotten. ☹️
We never had tai chi yesterday as the hall was really freezing and it was too cold to do anything, although I did a few star jumps!
I’m hoping the weather will let me go to AgeConcern for a craft group. They are trying to encourage “old” people to come into the warm, and have a chat.
It is pelting down ATM. Really horrible.
Carpe diem dear friends. 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Morning all from a very wet West Oxfordshire, I can hear the rain pounding on the conservatory roof as I lie in bed. It is our monthly U3A lunch today. We are going to an Italian restaurant this time. More WI admin, I’m afraid followed by the actual meeting this evening. We will be doing various Christmas crafts. If there is time, I may make a batch of Mars Bar ice cream. Elder son and his family are popping over at the weekend and this used to be a favourite ice cream. In fact, he asked me when he was here last time why I didn’t make it any more! I am currently befuddled as to why that monster trump wishes to stand for POTUS again. Apparently the Murdoch press have turned against him, as has Fox News. Have a good day everyone and don’t get too wet!

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and also raining here in brackley this morning.
Housework on the agenda to start with followed by hopefully a good walk to my surgery and back for blood test .
I am aiming at a 20 minute walk both ways weather permitting .
Take Care,
Mick
