In 2020 there were 177 women murdered and 416 men murdered. So yes there are a lot of candles for the poor people that have been murdered, but this thread is about the poor people that are being discriminated against and victimised for being transgender.

For 18 years we had a much-loved grandson. For 2 years up to now we have had an equally much-loved granddaughter. She is the same person. We have lost nothing. The only fear I have is how the world treats her.

those murders grannydarkhair were NOT committed by transgender people ..neither male nor female .
MEN in their natural form were to blame ...why not point the finger where its warranted .The vast majority of transgender people are good law abiding citizens ...just like the vast majority of every other group in the country/world .
Then there are people like you ,misinformation wrapped up in a way to discredit and cause offence .
I know who I'd rather have as a friend and its not you!!
Its not that long ago that all gay people were called these names ,perverts,molestors paedophiles ,thank heavens the VAST majority of folk could see that they are just people like us who want to live their lives their way .

The vocal transgender lobby inadvertently provided the environment in which the murders took place - admittedly not by genuinely transgender people, but by those taking advantage of the prevailing attitudes. That doesn’t make what grannydarkhair wrong, or make her a ‘nasty piece of work’.

No it doesn’t, but it does make posters who use that sort of language (npow) to describe another poster appear to be a good reflection of that description.

No it doesn’t, but it does make posters who use that sort of language (npow) to describe another poster appear to be a good reflection of that description.

What language ? She simply pointed out the facts and was met with what I would term as a very abusive reply from paddyann54, not to mention a patronising reply from VioletSky. Sorry, but this is descending very quickly into another example of the discussion being shut down the minute someone’s opinion differs.

There’s a high probability that everyone of them was murdered by a man, and one more than likely known to them, although some may have been murdered by another woman.
I wasn’t going to comment at all on this thread as I feared it would soon degenerate into the usual “us vs them”. However, I did comment because I’m appalled that the deaths of an unknown number of transgender people (none, if we’re talking about the UK) appears to rouse more sympathy than the known death of 125 women.
As for the alleged violence committed against anyone claiming to be trans gender, we have no way of knowing the number of genuinely violent incidents as apparently e.g. “tying ribbons around a tree” and “applying stickers to a lamp-post” have been called hate crimes, and are included in the numbers. Women have been arrested for carrying out both those actions, as well as for “mis-gendering” and “dead naming”, trans activists describe both of those as “literal violence”.
But trans activists can e.g. threaten to vaginally penetrate gender critical women with “barbed-wire covered baseball bats”, can walk around with “kill the terf” written across their bodies (photographic evidence of both of these are easily found) and nothing happens to them.
Time and time again on many threads, myself and others have said that we are not “anti-trans” and would wish no harm on anyone claiming to be trans gender. We are only concerned with how the actions of trans activists are threatening women’s rights, gay (especially lesbian) rights and the safeguarding of children.

I'll join if you start it, I've been saying for a while now how strange it is we need a few threads a week about peoples issues/concerns with trans people but there are none addressing the fact that only 1% of sexual violence ever results in charges and I think its important and may fit well as part of that discussion

This thread of course is actually for trans awareness, not issues or concerns people have

People are at liberty of course to discuss what they will but may not find a large audience here as it may not be something many people read in the current climate

I will keep an eye out for a thread on that topic. It's so important it deserves its own thread

Threads meander, they rarely stay as the OP wants. That's life I guess.
My niece is in a relationship with a transman. I won't deny that has been difficult for lots of the family, especially those of us that knew the partner before transition. Luckily the partner who now views their previously lesbian relationship has moved to a heterosexual relationship says 'don't worry about misgendering and shit, I know you still love us both.' But then C knows that C has not changed sex but has changed their view of themself. Out of courtesy and respect I try to remember 'he' but 'she' is still first to my lips.

I don't know how anyone can fail to know about transgender issues as they are highlighted constantly in the media. No need for a special week.

Yes, this is very true. If they just quietly got on with their lives instead of constantly drawing attention to their 'condition', they would be doing themselves a huge favour. After all, one's sexuality is only part of who we are.
I'm not 'gay' or transgender but if I were, I would distance myself from the public antics of those who denigrate the whole gender scene, by portraying it as a sordid promiscuous lifestyle.

And these are for all the transpeople who are suffering because of the bad publicity caused by the evil, unfair and dangerous actions of some trans and some TAF and TRA.
