Grandmattie unfortunately shoes to fit orthotics do not come cheap! They may not look stylish but neither does falling over. I’m glad you’ve found something that works for you, it took me years of often expensive trial and error to work out what I needed flowers

After yesterday’s rain, today is dull here in Co Durham.
Got soaked picking dgd up from school. It’s only a ten minute round trip but the gutters were like rivers.
Cooked salmon fillets and baked potatoes in the new air fryer. I was most impressed.
Hugs to those in need. Have a good day.

Happy birthday to several much loved 7 year old GC, a magical and lovely age. Am out for lunch again today so no cooking or wondering what to eat. Hurrah!

Meanwhile the sun is shining and we have escaped the heavy rain which has affected so much of the country. I need a few more bulbs for my back garden pots so maybe tomorrow? For now there is paper to file and yet more apples to stew so that’s the morning spoken for.

Just bought a pair of shoes for £84! Is that the normal price? They needed to have the orthotics in, so were more expensive than ordinary shoes.
Sadly, they are a bit “old lady in orthopaedic shoes” in style, but, hey, if they fit…

Good morning from a rainy NE, yet again.
I had another bad night, couldn't sleep even though I was tired, I got up and put a disc of piano music in the player but it started jumping so not helpful.
I am going out for lunch with my friend, her DH drives us to the restaurant so we can have a drink. Looking forward to our catch up.
Take care all those with health problems.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, more rain forecast later.

We had downpours all day yesterday until late evening. I collected my prescription, no problems there, and did a little shopping. Unfortunately my digestive system decided it has been quiet for too long and the day went downhill from there! I am feeling wobbly and washed out, tum is rumbling but no cramps or pains at the moment. I’m feeling a bit wary of eating in case it starts again! We normally have lunch out on Fridays but I think we’ll pass today.

Have a good day all, sending best wishes and healing thoughts to all who are under the weather 🌻

Good morning all from a nearly sunny W Kent. It trying so hard but not there yet.
Enjoyed my morning at art yesterday, everyone liked my new hair cut, couldn't help wondering what they thought of the old one!
Off to get DH glasses mended this morning, treasure hunt yesterday afternoon to find the small missing screw. A little light shopping then off to look after GS after school. His school send everyone home at 1 o'clock on a Friday.
Birthday wishes to the GC.
Best wishes to all.

Good morning all. The Angus coast is being battered by torrential rain and storm force wind which started in earnest mid morning yesterday, continued all night and is forecast to go on all day today as well. Thank goodness the wind is out of the west - a North wind with this lot would be unbearable! But never mind - it'll soon be Spring 😁
I have read through all the posts but my morning brain doesn't seem to have retained much! Wyllow, so sorry for the bad time you are going through 💐. Ash keep up the good work - I'm sure olddudders won't allow you to do too much. Happy birthdays to all the little 7yos today - I have fond memories of when mine were that age, but the youngest had her 17th recently! Mick, glad you enjoyed your bus trip yesterday.
I'm off down to N Fife today and meeting my niece for coffee and a natter before getting my hair cut. It really is crazy to still be going to the same hairdressers for most of my life (it's now owned by the son of the original owner and even he is past retirement age now!). Once I stop driving I really will have to bite the bullet and find somewhere local! Next year maybe .........
My niece is 14 years younger than me but her health doesn't seem to be as good as mine. I can vividly remember carrying her to her christening when I was 14, and she's now 67! How can that be!
Take care everyone and enjoy your day. And if any of you see that 🌞, please remind it of us up here - we'd love to see it again one day 😉 x

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where we have light cloud and a few blue patches. Showers may well happen. It rained all yesterday. Unfortunately for them it was the day one lot of next door neighbours moved out and the next lot moved in. I do hope they will be as quiet and non-troublesome as the old ones.

I posted my parcels. No wonder I generally prefer to buy online and have them delivered to the recipient, even second class parcel postage is getting too much.
My hearing aids have been sent off for repair also, bits have fallen off making one of them prone to fall out of my ear if accidentally brushed.
Today, a few little jobs around the house, a bit of admin and then it's please myself, hopefully that includes a bit of gardening. Also I need to think about a couple of small presents for the GC. They need to be small and light because they will be going in my small suitcase. These days, their big present is a gift card each so they can buy what they fancy and that's what they prefer to do.

Best wishes to you Wyllow, I hope your bowel problem is promptly and easily sorted. I'm sorry you have this to deal with when you are trying to be positive and move on in life.

And the best possible day to everyone.

A late good morning from me here in Granada, we’re an hour ahead too! I’ve slept in after a fantastic day yesterday at the Alhambra, walked for ages and did all the sights, the Alcazaba, Nasrid Palaces and Generalife. Thanks to you all for your kind messages. It was stunning and I loved every minute. We got the audio guide rather than a guided tour and wandered at our own pace learning all about the history and traditions. Not the best day weather wise but it didn’t matter and what we expected in November. Im sharing just 3 photos with you all out of absolutely loads that we’ve taken! A bit of a quieter day planned today doing a bit of shopping and gentle sightseeing.
Wishing both gorgeous DGDs very Happy Birthdays grandmadinosaur and marydoll 🎂🎉🎈
Thoughts with your DD gingster hope she gets her meds sorted today, such a brave lady
wyllow sounds like you’ve been through such a lot, sending ❤️
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from Essex by the sea. It is cloudy but dry.

Another day of having someone here doing our hall floor. I'm looking forward to the finished article but hate having someone around all day. Very discombobulating !!!!

Have a fabulous Friday everyone xx

Good morning from a bright and sunny Oxfordshire, chilly though after a very wet Thursday.
Happy Birthday to all the GCs today, mine are now almost 19 and 17 but I still remember the excitement when they were youngsters. As they live in the South West we don’t see them so often, but they text us. Occasionally !
For all poorly Grans I send hugs and 💐 and it’s good that so many of us are back to ‘normal’ preparations for Christmas, it’s been a long time coming, pleased you had a good day yesterday Mick
For all those will sick family members I send hugs and 💐as well, it’s hard to sit and watch and be unable to do anything except be there.
GM I admire you for looking after your DL, but I hope she goes soon! I do wonder though how she will manage without someone looking after her 24/7, is she learning how to walk again and care for herself?
Anyway, MissOops is coming over for the day today, she is looking really tired, I think she went home too early as Nephew wasn’t coping too well on his own, but she is still recovering from her op and she need a little TLC today, she might stay over, we shall see.
I have a new hobby that I’m enjoying immensely, but it’s a sit down one so I’m not getting much exercise, started with the drawing challenge for November which we are all doing and now I’m trying to paint, nothing fancy, just for enjoyment, so that’s my day sorted.
Have a good day everyone and let’s hope we all see some sunshine.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I should get up soon as I seem to have slept in! I will be listening/watching two V&A lectures this morning on interiors. One on Scandinavian interiors, the other on Moroccan interiors. Elder son and his family are coming on Saturday and staying the night. I am meeting my friend who sometimes causes scenes in restaurants for lunch tomorrow. So, I will do quite a lot of preparation this afternoon for their stay. Also, it is Stir-up Sunday this weekend when I would usually make the Christmas pudding. It might be fun to ask my granddaughter to help me tomorrow afternoon and then steam it on Sunday. Who knows! Congratulations to those with family birthdays and commiserations to those suffering angst.💐

Ashcombe Fri 18-Nov-22 08:18:45

Gingster: I hope you receive better service today for your DD. It doesn’t help when you are already naturally worried to have that extra stress. 💐

Chrissielou Fri 18-Nov-22 08:17:35

A bright sunny but chilly morning in Oxfordshire. Still battling the now 9 day cold but very happy it's Friday. We have a clear weekend so will enjoy dog walking, relaxing and catching up with DC and families over tea and cake on Sunday.
Will start some online Xmas shopping today, I did order the dog some new toys yesterday so he's sorted grin but for everyone else, I must try harder!

Grammaretto Fri 18-Nov-22 08:10:28

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I think it's stopped raining. I gave up on trying to dry the washing yesterday, put it back to spin-dry and hung it indoors.

I have a pottery class this morning and better prepare. I hope my new Helpers will assist me.
I'm thinking of sending them to IKEA to do my shopping for me. I really dislike shopping and need a picture frame and other stuff.

Glad you enjoyed the Christmas lunch Mick
Have a lovely 7th birthday celebration Marydoll
Have the best day possible everyone 😊

Pittcity Fri 18-Nov-22 08:00:47

Good morning from chilly Colchester where it's stopped raining at last.
I wrote a list yesterday and will venture out today to make inroads.
All depends on DH's plans. He is a last minute change type of man and so his diary is very fluid. Shopping is different if he tags along.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a slightly brighter Black Country.

A pleasant day yesterday having lunch with Aunt and Mum. My Mums younger sister is only 10 years older than myself, she was widowed in January, but is coping admirably. Still drives at almost 80!

u3a monthly walking group this morning, starting at cafe on an old railway walk.

Meal out tonight for MrJ's DD celebrating gaining her PhD recently.

Wyllow sounds like you have a lot to contend with at the moment. Thinking of you flowers

Happy you are slowly on the mend Ash good job DH is there to slow you down!

Wishing you all a lovely day

Greyduster Fri 18-Nov-22 07:52:34

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where Wyllow has our weather spot on. And it’s colder today. Yesterday did not go particularly well. I got caught up in a job I didn’t particularly want to do, then took myself off to the supermarket and completely forgot I had a hair appointment at midday until my hairdresser texted me. Fortunately, being the sweetie that she is, she got me in very late in the afternoon. It was worth going out in the dark and wet for. Today, my son in law having finally decided what he would like for his birthday, I am off to buy him a present. We are going out to dinner this evening at a very nice local hostelry and I have offered to pay the bill (he’s been so very good to me this year), so if you see me busking with my piano on the high street tomorrow, please be generous!
Have the best day you can, folks.

dragonfly46 Fri 18-Nov-22 07:49:24

Good morning from a dry Leicestershire.

It was NWR National quiz last night and we got all the answers - a first!
NWR lunch today in town and picking up an advent calendar for DGD.

Pleased you are feeling better Ash.

So sorry to hear about your DD gingster I hope she feels better today. I booked a face to face with the GP yesterday but when I got there they had changed the appointment to one with a nurse practitioner!

Happy Birthday Dollie.

Grandmabatty Fri 18-Nov-22 07:46:59

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and soggy. Yesterday was unremitting rain all day and evening. Mick I'm glad you enjoyed your day out. Marydoll and Grandmadinosaur happy birthday to your wee granddaughters. Susan I hope your granddaughter has a lovely birthday on Sunday. Dgs2 has his first birthday tomorrow. Where has the year gone? Ashcombe it's good to hear about you getting on with tasks and recovering. grandmattie I'm glad you had a rest.
Yesterday was a very busy childcare day. However dgs2 seems to be settling in. He had a good nap in the morning and ate plenty at lunch, then a shorter nap in the afternoon. So he was a happy wee boy. He is a screamer so thank goodness next door are deaf as he screams when he's upset, angry and happy. I hope once he can talk, he'll grow out of it. Last night I was at a craft class where we were creating on glass lanterns for Christmas. The star decoupage was lovely but my glitter on acetate smudged on the way home so that lantern will be put in my bedroom away from critical eyes.
Today the car is going into the local garage for a service and mot. Fingers crossed it'll be ok. I can walk home as the garage is ten minutes away. Very handy. I'll probably make a loaf and do some baking while I'm carless. Have a good day all.

Gala Fri 18-Nov-22 07:44:46

Good morning from a gloomy & overcast Sefton. Still damp underfoot from yesterday's downpour but not actually raining.

Dance exercise class followed by Pilates this morning. A free afternoon but I'm sure there are things I should be doing. But do I want to do them? Hmm. I do need to finish my book!
Oh dear spoke too soon about 'not raining'. It is now lashing down.

Sending positive thoughts to those of you with medical issues & family struggles. ((Hugs)) & 💐.

Kalu Fri 18-Nov-22 07:35:13

Nothing to do with the king!😂 - good morning.

Kalu Fri 18-Nov-22 07:34:09

Good or king all from Glasgow where it is still dark outside but dry.

I am off shortly to take my car for a service and have booked a courtesy car as I have a busy day ahead. GP appointment later for a check followed by a dental check up then both of us are having our jags at 5.00. Phew!

Happy Birthday to dollie and to Grandmadinosaur’s GD too. Enjoy your special day girls. 🎂🎉🛍.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

BlueBalou Fri 18-Nov-22 07:32:59

Good morning everyone, it’s looking drier here in Wiltshire, clear skies, so maybe a less soggy DDog walk this morning 😊
We’re going to do a walk I have only done once before, down into the valley and a long haul back up (that’ll be fun 🙄😄)
Then I have ironing to do and various bits and pieces to finish doing.
Marydoll good luck with the Diplomatic role!
I hope you all have a lovely day x
