Thank you Mary.x

Good morning everyone. So far it’s dry but I don’t think it’s going to last. Yesterday it rained all day.
Sorry to read your sad news yesterday Greyduster 💐 .
🤞crossed for your UA family, momb. I hope it all works out for them.
Nice to see you posting again amserlin (I used to lurk on this thread a lot so remember you).
Glad your car passed its mot urms. It’s always a worry when it’s mot time.
Have a good day all and I hope all those feeling unwell have a better day today.

Happy birthday to your DGD, Susan!

Urmstongran Sun 20-Nov-22 08:46:01

Bet yours is nicer than mine though GG13 as I cheat and buy two trays of ‘Taste the Difference’ from Sainsbury’s!

Good morning from Shropshire.

Yesterdays 7th birthday party went well.DD2 was unwell and couldn’t come. She was going to be in charge of crowd control and games as she is a year 1 teacher so used to dealing with a large group of children.I was drafted in to help DD1 and DH and our two son in laws were in charge of food. The children were so well behaved and DGD had a great time.

After a busy week helping DD I have 16 items on my to do list today🤦🏼‍♀️some won’t take too long as I always write a few things I can cross off quite easily!

I feel quite envious of all the Sunday dinners.DH says we have too much to do today to have a dinner so it will be something quick tonight.

We are having Burford browns for breakfast Urms to set us up for the day.

Glad to hear things are improving for your DD gingster.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle. I woke to heavy rain but now it has stopped and blue skies are appearing. A walk out may be possible eventually.
Yesterday I did an early top up shop, getting a few items Tesco couldn't supply on Thursday, like black treacle, out of stock with Tesco, piles of tins in Sainsbury's! Plenty of eggs in both stores btw.
I carried on to the garden centre as I had a voucher to spend and a free coffee due. Sadly for my waistline, I was tempted by Christmas cake and they're never small slices. It's purgatory for me today then, no treats! I did manage to avoid buying any more garden plants but spent my voucher on new gardening gloves and a rather expensive amaryllis of unusual colour. One I have nursed along from last winter has just finished flowering magnificently. I have a weakness for them, they look so exotic.
Today, apart from a possible walk, I shall finish off the weekend papers.

I hope your visitors are successful MOMB, Ukraine is not a place to be returning to for a while sadly, judging by the news. I worry about all those people maybe having to live with a destroyed infrastructure over a hard winter.

Have the best possible Sunday all.

Good morning from a damp S Hants, it rained overnight. We have heating and hot water, hurrah. The boiler fit was completed by 1:30, lovely man will return on Wednesday to complete some pipework and for a chemical flush through.
Today will be a quick shop visit, gammon for dinner and a walk.
Thoughts with those struggling or under the weather 🦩🦩

dustyangel Sun 20-Nov-22 08:33:41

Uber the weather? Definitely meant under.

Pittcity Sun 20-Nov-22 08:33:37

Good morning from rainy Colchester.
DH has taken DGS1 (age 11) fishing. DS is still in bed. I have a cuppa and the washing machine on.
I'll venture out for a walk if and when it dries up.
Roast pork this evening.
Love to all 🦩 x

GrannyGravy13 Sun 20-Nov-22 08:32:12

Lovely to hear from you amserlin shame about Waldi’s poor eyesight.

MOMB I missed your post yesterday regarding your Ukrainian family, I hope all goes well for them in their move,

Morning Urmstongran cauliflower cheese here also, it is my favourite.

dustyangel Sun 20-Nov-22 08:32:03

Good morning all from the Algarve. I’m still tucked in but I can see the sky turning the palest blue through the skylight. I’ll go and put some washing on in a minute and hope to get it dry outside. Despite waking up before 5.30, I slept really well for a change and consequently have more energy. I’d better make the most of it while it lasts.
I’ll catch up with you all later but meanwhile, I hope everyone feeling Uber the weather has a better day.

Urmstongran Sun 20-Nov-22 08:23:36

Here’s Matt.

Oh how lovely it was to have you posting again amselerin! What a pleasant surprise to hear from you again. I hope your move over here goes well. Perhaps you’ll be able to take holidays to visit your sisters and friends over time?

Good morning everyone from a damp south Manchester. Our elderly little car passed its MOT yesterday, yay! Himself is picking my stepfather up this afternoon. He’s joining us for a Sunday dinner of roast gammon, cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes. We all enjoy a drink in the bar downstairs first. I’ve got his shoes back from the cobbler up the road. He put tyre tracks on them - soled and heeled - to guard against slipping in the wet. Kind of him. I only hope my stepfather finds them acceptable!

Lovely to hear your Ukrainian family may have a home of their own soon momb and nearby too! What a kind landlord. You’ve been so kind hosting them for so long.

Gwen thank you about the books but I did reply the other day that I’d read all of Kirsten Hannah’s books and that those two were my absolute favourites of hers. grandMattie thank you I’ll add that one to my Kindle. That said, I read very little here I’ve realised. I enjoy BBC catch up and Sky Go which I can’t access in Spain! Seems here is for tv and Málaga for reading.

Oh, by the way, yesterday the Boy Wonder’s football team beat Man. Utd girls by one goal. Himself said it was a cracking game!

amselerin Sun 20-Nov-22 08:18:43

Good morning Mick and all from cold, but sunny Lueneburg. An easy day for me, just cutting a few branches of the bushes for "green" collection tomorrow. Then a friend is coming for tea and cake this afternoon. I may fit in a little walk into the forest. Unfortunately Waldi is not willing to come out for walks any more. The vet says it`s because of his poor sight.
Thanks all for you good wishes. I may not be posting every day but I do read your posts.
Wishing you all a happy Sunday and take care.

ginny Sun 20-Nov-22 08:17:24

Good morning everyone from the high seas where we are heading to Maderia.
Unfortunately we were held in Tor Bay for a full day due to bad weather and the Bay of Bicay was quite bumpy !
Still, we have had a good time on board with plenty of entertainment, rest and good food and we are looking forward to a trip to Funchal tomorrow.
I haven’t caught up with all your news
but send good thoughts to all especially Rhodes with Illness or sadness. Have the best day possible.

NannyJan53 Sun 20-Nov-22 08:17:03

Good morning from a cloudy but brightening Black Country.

Lovely family get together at DB & SIL's new house. What a stunning house! 4 bed, with a walk-in wardrobe the size of a small bedroom! Near Worcester, but in a lovely village, where there is a thriving community. They love living there already.

Today MrJ is off on a bike ride with his club, then they meet at a scout camp for a sausage sizzle. So, I shall drive over there and meet them for a sausage bap at lunchtime.

Great news for your UA family MOMB I hope they settle in quickly, which I am sure they will with your support.

Hoping NanKate and DH are feeling much better now.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday

Grandmabatty Sun 20-Nov-22 08:14:25

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4°. It's dry at the moment but has been raining.
Yesterday dgs2 had a lovely birthday with lots of toys and visitors for him. I made cinnamon rolls in the afternoon and took a couple across the road to my new neighbours. They moved in n a couple of weeks ago and have gutted the house. They still don't have a proper kitchen so I reckoned a wee treat would be acceptable.
Today I'll go to Aldi for food in the morning. I need to have provisions in for my hungry boys. Then dgs2 has a birthday party with soft play etc and lots of little people. It is not my idea of fun but my aunt and uncle are going so I'll have company. Chicken casserole for dinner. Have a good day all.

cornergran Sun 20-Nov-22 08:09:12

Morning Mick, morning All. Looks like our corner of Somerset had overnight rain, cloudy and dry at the moment

Garden finished yesterday morning after lunch we walked along the riverbank to our nearest shops returning by bus. I had a full night of sleep for the first time for months, you’d think I’d feel great this morning, nope, more dozy than usual.

Paperwork and Christmas wrapping for me today. Mr C may finally get to finish his jigsaw. Roast pork later, we’re very relaxed about Sunday timings.

Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 20-Nov-22 08:03:05

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a rainy Hull.

We had a lovely time at friends last night and they cooked us a lovely meal. Snitzel and dauphinois potatoes with homemade apple pie was greatly enjoyed and all gluten free. So kind.
Today we may see the Grandaughters and Sister and Brother in law are coming over too.

Wishing you all well today. Enjoy your family and friend gatherings and Sunday lunches.
Hugs to the poorly DDs 💐 and to those weighed down by stress 🌻🌻

Marydoll Sun 20-Nov-22 08:02:09

I meant to say, I hope NanKate and her DH are on the mend. 💐

Grammaretto Sun 20-Nov-22 08:00:21

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it feels cold but dry.
I have a a family coming for a pottery class this morning and this afternoon there is a concert at a local church to look forward to.
Tonight Elvis the movie at our community cinema.
I'm so pleased that your Ukrainian family may be moving to their own place "MOMB* is it really 6 months! I do admire you.

Have a nice Sunday everyone.

Marydoll Sun 20-Nov-22 07:59:59

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 5°C.

MOMB, its good to see you posting again. I sincerely hope all goes well for your house guests today.

DH is kindly taking me out early to pick up some heavy shopping and a click and collect at Sainsbury's.
Nowadays, any lifting usually results in a dizzy spell and breathlessness. His Sunday mornings are sacrosanct, so I really appreciate this, especially as he absolutely hates shopping!

If we are back in time, I will pop down church to catch some people, who need their disclosure checks updated.
I wonder why they all rush away, when they see me coming! 😁

It will then be home to relax. For today's dinner, yesterday I made steam, air fried roast chicken in the Ninja ( a success) and a huge batch of empire biscuits, ( in case of visitors) so I'm doing nothing!

For those feeling poorly, I wish you a gentle day. Have a pleasant Sunday, folks.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 20-Nov-22 07:56:36

Morning all

I think it’s been raining here all night and we have more forecast for today, a good job I am not going anywhere.

Yesterday I wrapped all the gifts and I now know who I have to buy for so I shall busy in the internet today. I have the last few cards to write then I shall curl up on the sofa and read. Roast beef for dinner this evening.

Have a peaceful Sunday folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Ashcombe Sun 20-Nov-22 07:54:53

Greyduster

MOMB I wish your UA family all good luck. You’ve worked so hard to support them and see them properly settled.👍🏻

I agree! It sounds like you’ve found the right property for your UA family, mumofmadboys, with a landlord with a kindly disposition. 🤞

Gala Sun 20-Nov-22 07:54:25

Good morning from a dull & overcast Sefton. It's not raining at the moment but it has been & it will again.

Lunch out yesterday in a posh upmarket establishment (with some of those foodie stars) was a real treat. Beautifully presented delicious food, impeccable but informal service in a rural setting just a 5 minute drive away. Back to reality today & a rummage around the freezer. An inside pottering day in view of the weather & a read of the papers.

Take care all & have the best day possible.
