Good Morning Everyone,
Dark , but a dry start here in Brackley this morning .
I plan to go to Bicester and browse the shelves today with maybe a small purchase and have a coffee and a sarnie in my favourite haunt .
I tried to read my meter as to electric yesterday , but found the numbers hard to jot down so I have ordered a magnifying glass to help make it easier.
Take Care,
Mick

It might be a chicken next Monk!

Good morning all and it’s a chilly one.

Megs so sorry to hear your worrying news. 💐. Kindest wishes to you.

Today I’ll go to sainsbury s to get Christmas goodies and find some gifts for Dh and ds1.
Dog food is required and the only place that sells it is nearby to sainsbury.

More card writing and gift wrapping is needed, and I’ll start my new book club book.

Hoping you all have a good day. 🌺

Good morning from Durham. We have thick fog, hard frost and the temperature is zero - I’d light the wood burner, if I was going to be at home all day.
A bit of local shopping is on the cards this morning, then I am going to babysit DGS2 so that his Daddy can take his Mummy to have her foot wound inspected and re-bandaged. It is improving, but it’s going to be a long job and I’m wondering how the edges of the hole will knit together.
I resisted a smart meter for quite a long time, don’t know why, but I finally agreed to have it in the garage. I don’t look at it very often as I have the Octopus App, but it’s interesting to see how the cost rises as certain appliances are used and there’s no need to submit meter readings.
Special thoughts for our GNs going through difficult days - there’s never a good time for these things, but these dark gloomy days seem to intensify worry and sadness. 💐

Good morning all from a dull and damp Black country.
Have solved the shortage of eggs have found another one in my garden, the fox shot off when I opened the garden door early evening so he is putting them there, where he is getting them from though is another mystery. Still it makes a change from the present he usually leaves.
Quick trip to Aldi and need to chase up DH prescription, otherwise a quiet day.
Will read through now with my cuppa.
Enjoy your day and may you all find some 🌞.

Nannagarra Mon 21-Nov-22 08:32:46

Good morning from Sefton.
I’m in a bit of a rush so haven’t yet read your posts. The carpet fitter due and will be closely followed by Mr Busy.
Holding Megs36 in my thoughts.
Have the best Monday you can everyone.

Good morning from a frosty NE, first of the winter.
Had a lazy day yesterday, no housework but I did order next Sunday's dinner from Dishpatch because I had a voucher for £20 off a Michel Roux meal.
Today SIL is taking me to Newcastle to do some shopping, I am going to buy new festive decorations.
Have a good day.

No Matt = Monday.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it looks chilly out. I’ve just asked Alexa and apparently it’s 4°C rising to 7° later. No need of heating on here yet, even my stepfather said yesterday afternoon he was warm in here. I have put a cardigan on over my pj’s though this morning! I hate dressing gowns - all that material flapping about.

No plans till 4pm (although Himself will watch England at 10am) when we pick the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss up from their childminder to take them home for a sandwich tea then off to the sports centre for their swimming lessons.

We came home from Spain for 8 weeks and I can’t believe we’ve been back a week and a half already - the days have just flown by!

ShazzaKanazza Mon 21-Nov-22 08:25:06

Enjoy your day in Funchal Ginny. Are you going up in the cable car? Have a lovely time. I’ll be there in spirit with you.

ShazzaKanazza Mon 21-Nov-22 08:22:00

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. I can’t decide if that’s frost on the grass or dew as it’s a bit foggy I’m guessing frost.

That’s a stunning picture Dragonfly and belated birthday wishes to your daughter.

Marydoll take care today hope you don’t wear yourself out but enjoy your shopping.

Megs thoughts to you this morning as you come to terms with your news x

Today I have zoom yoga then I need to go to the shops as daughter, son-in-law and grandgirls are coming for tea. I’m making my yellow chicken curry which is a crowd pleaser but son in law always requests a multitude of sides. While I’m at the shops I’ll nip into M&S to see what Christmas goodies they have to make a food hamper for our friends.

Have a lovely Monday and virtual hugs to those struggling with illness and stress. 🌻🌻

Good morning all.
Land ahoy ! We have woken this morning, docked at Funchal and looking forward to our excursion later.

So sorry to hear Megs news💐.

Wishing a good day for all who are poorly , recovering and troubled in any way.

Sar53 Mon 21-Nov-22 08:12:22

GG13 I had already arranged to go to Bluewater next Monday, meeting DD2. I know what you mean about the roundabout, I have to think about which lane to get into before I go !!!
My visit today is a bonus.

Chrissielou Mon 21-Nov-22 08:11:53

It's currently not raining but is grey and chilly. We purchased an electric throw which is a game changer. I will never be cold again when I'm working from home, huddled over a laptop.
There really are no words Megs but I'm sending you flowers and a warm hug.
Wishing you all a good day.

Beechnut Mon 21-Nov-22 08:10:05

I’ve just gone to yesterday and read your news Megs. 💐and I will be thinking of you.

Greyduster Mon 21-Nov-22 08:02:18

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It grey but dry in South Yorkshire, and very cold. I have a couple of bits of shopping to do this morning and then some last bits of dead stuff to clear out of the lower garden, as the green bin gets its final empty for this year tomorrow. Then I will make some fish pies for the freezer, and one for my dinner this evening.
Take it steady, Ash. Kind thoughts for anyone who needs them.
Have the best day you can folks.

Ashcombe Mon 21-Nov-22 08:00:58

I am glad you are feeling stronger Ash but wish you were being looked after

Go careful Ash

Please take care ash, gently does it

I'm so sorry that my post gave the wrong impression: olddudders is still here looking after me very well. But I am supposed to try light tasks, hence the tea making without lifting the kettle. It’s very thoughtful of you to be concerned but I promise I’m being careful - DH won't allow me to be otherwise!

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 21-Nov-22 07:59:49

Good morning from. A cold and damp Oxfordshire, heavy rain is due later, like we need it.
MrOops is out today, so I have just some washing, ironing and cleaning to do and then I will sit down with a book.
I have the dog so she might need to go out, but if it’s raining she will be reluctant to get her paws wet, don’t blame her really.
Hugs for all of those with health worries, I do feel for you.
Extra hug for Meg and hope that some treatment will prove to be helpful.
Have a good day everyone, stay dry and warm.

kittylester Mon 21-Nov-22 07:58:17

Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire. I think we had the other end of dragonfly's rainbow in the village yesterday.

The forecast for today is for heavy rain after lunch which is good timing for DD1 and DH as they are going for a walk this morning before she begins her radiotherapy tomorrow.

Our gardener is also coming to do a last tidy and, hopefully, deliver our door wreath.

I was so sorry to read your diagnosis megs. Please lean on us if you need too.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 21-Nov-22 07:50:52

Good morning all from Harrogate- can’t see though the condensation what the weather is like outside.
I, too, would love a smart meter but DH refuses to get one, says they are unreliable!
Hope your hospital appointment gives you the info you want Marydoll.
Todays my chat with my school friend and usually my sisters as well. This afternoon I go to the dentist for him to see what’s left of my tooth which broke off and decide what to do with the remaining spikes.
Have the best day possible folks

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 21-Nov-22 07:49:22

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed and haven’t peeked through the curtains yet. OH and I were supposed to be seeing old friends today. We have only seen them once since the pandemic began. Last night ‘he’ rang to say that he has to see a doctor today urgently so cancelled our visit. We have known this couple for over forty years and in fact they are two of the nicest people we know. Hopefully all will be well. So, Waitrose beckons and I also might pop into Oxford to upgrade my iPhone. I have endeavoured to post all the presents to my Australian family by the end of the week so need to wrap them up! Have a good day everyone.

brook2704 Mon 21-Nov-22 07:46:48

Good morning everyone from southern Spain, about 20º forecast and mostly sunny
I missed posting yesterday so didn’t see Megs sad news, just wanted to say I’m thinking of you and hoping some treatment will help. Sending ❤️
Im really looking forward to meeting up with my friend from Inverness today and hearing all about her new lifestyle over here. She moved just before lockdown so didn’t get the best start but seems to have settled in.
A beautiful rainbow draginfly thanks for sharing
Hope all goes well today marydoll
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Beechnut Mon 21-Nov-22 07:45:40

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s raining here and a miserable day expected.

I’m going to tidy my craft room today. There is so much stuff cluttering up surfaces and I keep having to move the ironing board about to get at things so before I put that away I’ll tackle the few things I have to iron.

I haven’t read anything yet so I’ll go back and see what you are all up to while I drink my tea.

Have a good day 🌧☂️

Pittcity Mon 21-Nov-22 07:43:26

Good morning from a chilly Colchester. There's frost on the rooftops. Rain is forecast for this afternoon.
A supermarket trip and general pootling today.
DH might want to watch the football.

Love to all with a special hug for Megs 🦩x

cornergran Mon 21-Nov-22 07:35:31

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and windy corner of Somerset. Yellow weather warning in force

A repeat of yesterday on the cards today without the roast pork. Some catching up and general pottering, maybe a start on gift wrapping and cards. . Cauliflower and blue cheese soup for lunch I think. Mr C’s favourite.

Please take care ash, gently does it. Sounds a busy day ahead marydoll, you wouldn't overdo things now would you? . Meg is in my thoughts along with all experiencing sadness and worry.

Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Jaxjacky Mon 21-Nov-22 07:28:31

Good morning from a damp S Hants, we’re due heavy rain today too. Mick can you photograph the meter, then make the photo bigger?
Off to our local *M&S food hall soon for aubergines, the village shops don’t stock them I’m making moussaka later.
Go careful Ash
Thoughts with Megs and her family.

baubles Mon 21-Nov-22 07:25:23

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s 2* and cloudy.

I managed to completely mess up my plans yesterday morning by arriving for 9.30 Mass only to discover it actually started at 9.00. My only excuse is that I never go early on Sundays and Mass on weekdays is at 9.30. I must pay attention to detail.

After helping to haul yards and yards of soaking wet poppy strewn netting onto pulleys on the scout hall stage I needed a hot shower. The afternoon was lovely as DD treated us to a delicious meal at a lovely restaurant to celebrate DH’s upcoming birthday.

Work today and this week I’m up to my normal hours so I’d better get moving as I need to get tonight’s meal into the slow cooker.

Wishing everyone the best day possible. Thinking of Meg particularly this morning.
