Good Morning Everyone,
Dark , but a dry start here in Brackley this morning .
I plan to go to Bicester and browse the shelves today with maybe a small purchase and have a coffee and a sarnie in my favourite haunt .
I tried to read my meter as to electric yesterday , but found the numbers hard to jot down so I have ordered a magnifying glass to help make it easier.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a wet Torbay with a moderate wind warning!

Just catching up with yesterday’s posts and was so sorry to read your news, Megs36. My heart goes out to you, along with Greyduster supporting her bereaved nieces.

It sounds like you really enjoyed Winchester, BlueSapphire. My DGD, a keen dancer, also participated in the Tapathon yesterday, along with her mother (DD2) and others at her Theatre Academy!

Mick: I was struggling with reading my meters a few years ago so I opted for smart meters which work well for me. Would that be an option for you?

Our plans for today include welcoming my priest here, my first visitor since leaving hospital two weeks ago. We deterred any from coming earlier as I wasn’t really up to talking for long. Now the chest infection is clearing, I’m feeling stronger each day and am thankful for my recovery and the prayerful support from folk here and beyond.

At present, I’m sleeping on a recliner as it’s the only way I can be comfortable lying on my back, as recommended in the early weeks following cardiac surgery. This morning, I’m hoping to use a light weight pan to boil water on the hob for TIB. Restrictions on lifting prevent me from using the kettle for several weeks!

Wishing you all some relief from cares of any kind. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a grey dawning E Kent.
Interesting comments about meters. When ours died about four years ago, the electrician who came to change it,said never to have a smart meter; he didn’t have one himself…
Had an extremely quiet day yesterday. After church, I decided to just sit, and that’s exactly what I did, apart from meal preparation.
That is how I managed to knit 4 sheep for the nativity. It won’t be possible to see the whole lot together, I’m afraid, as I have already taken the Holy family and the Wise Men to DD.
Hope Meg manages to derive strength from all us GMmers, and all well wishers once the shock has worn off. (Hugs)
Changing beds today and washing the beding, and I hope the cleaner comes. If she doesn’t, I’ll know for certain that she has dumped me.
Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from damp Wiltshire, more rain forecast for today 🙄
Yesterday was lovely, a really lazy wander around the village and lanes with DDog followed by coffee and a delicious apple and cinnamon cake. In the afternoon I sat and read, did some knitting and got the bits together for crafts this week.
This morning I’m meeting my sister for coffee and collecting my redesigned rings from the jewellers.
I hope everyone’s week goes well x

BlueBalou Mon 21-Nov-22 06:26:21

Thoughts and prayers are with you Megs , sending hugs too.

Good morning from darl Leicestershire.

Up early this morning for Pilates first thing. It gets the week off to a good start.
It was DD’s 45th birthday yesterday - how did that happen?

Wishing every one a good day.

dragonfly46 Mon 21-Nov-22 06:48:06

Just thought I would add this photo from yesterday.

Grandmabatty Mon 21-Nov-22 06:51:14

Good morning all from Polmont where it's 0° and cold! Still too dark to guess at the weather although I expect rain will fall at some point.
Yesterday dgs2's birthday party went well. My aunt and uncle popped in afterwards for a coffee and then my cousin and her husband appeared. She's the only cousin I keep in touch with although we are very different.
Today is child care. Apart from dropping dgs1 at the nursery and picking him up again, I have no plans for me and dgs2. We might go for a walk if it stays dry. Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Mon 21-Nov-22 06:54:27

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
-1° C here and still dark. I may go back to sleep when I have had my cuppa.
Yesterday was very nice including a walk, a rainbow 🌈 and a concert to launch a book about
Lady Nairne who wrote 80 songs including the Rowan Tree and Charlie is my darling.
I also met my new lodger properly.

My helpers cooked dinner and we all watched Elvis the movie. rather too long .
Today they are going to look at my printer to see if there's life in it and do a few repairs.

I am glad you are feeling stronger Ash but wish you were being looked after.

Hope you all have a good day and week . My thoughts are with Megsflowers

Good morning, s somerset is rainy with yellow wind later

I always said I would never have a smart meter, had good reasons then but I changed my mind. Octopus took me under their wing and I now have them. Wonderful, no longer have to crouch on the soil outside to read gas. Nothing to fear from them

Another welsh wool blanket on my bed last night and was awake later today. Heating was on downstairs

Grammaretto Mon 21-Nov-22 06:55:55

Beautiful photo Dragonfly

Good morning from a cold Essex by the sea.
A lazy day yesterday with lots of sport on TV. I thoroughly enjoyed TopGear last night, unusual for me.
This morning we are going to Bluewater. DH is meeting an old work colleague and Bluewater is mid way between where they live. I'm going along for the ride and a look round the shops.
Have a great Monday everyone, much love xx

Grandmadinosaur Mon 21-Nov-22 06:58:57

Good morning from East Yorkshire. It’s still dark and 2 degrees. Brrr. I did feel it was a bit colder last night and think I’m going to change the duvet cover to the cosy flannelette one later.

Today I’m doing more sorting. I think it will be the drawer under the bed. I keep nighties, socks and gloves etc in there. Looking for some warm gloves the other day I realised it badly needs a cull. I have a hair appointment late morning too.

I was so sorry to read your news Megs there are no words but you are in my thoughts. 💐

Have a good day everyone.

BlueSapphire Mon 21-Nov-22 07:02:46

Good morning everyone from Northampton, where it is still too dark to see what the weather is like; having looked at the forecast I see we can expect heavy rain for most of the day. That will give me a chance to catch up with the weekend newspapers as I had no time to read them yesterday or Saturday.

Had a most pleasant afternoon yesterday at our Tapathon for Children in Need; we raised over £500. Despite missing our final practice last week I think I managed OK, and didn't make too much of a fool of myself! It was quick swapping between tap and ballet shoes several times, as our ballet groups also gave a performance of three pieces we had been learning. Our Tap group also performed other short pieces as well as the official one for the tapathon. Was very out of breath at the end, so it was time for a coffee and cake! Had a good sit down afterwards as we all participated in a quiz to round off the afternoon.sir

Then home where I recovered with a sherry before dinner!

Yoga this morning then home to a spot of tidying, change the bed etc, perhaps Hoover upstairs and clean the bathroom.

Thoughts with those coping with worries and sadness, hope today you find some peace and comfort.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 21-Nov-22 07:08:18

Morning all

Sar53 I hope you enjoy Bluewater I am hoping to go in the coming weeks with my DiL (the one near you) as I do not want to drive there on my own (do not like that horrid roundabout on the way back to get onto the M25/tunnel)

Off to the gym first thing then pottering and list making for Christmas preparations.

(((Hugs))) Megs

Have your best day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Marydoll Mon 21-Nov-22 07:13:57

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where its only 1°C.

We too have a start meter, Mick and it is a good way of keeping tabs on our energy usage, especially in current times. We have never had any issues with it.

I'm up early, as I have a hospital appointment in Glasgow. I expect to be discharged from this clinic, because a hip replacement won't help. The problem is with the tendons, which are not supporting the joint, so no point in wasting the surgeon's time. 😞
A little bit of me is relieved, that there will be no surgery, I'm rather fed up with hospitals!

We shall park at Braehead shopping Centre and jump on the bus for the five minute journey to the QUEH, less stressful than trying to park, even with a Blue Badge.
Afterwards, I shall send DH off for a coffee, while I trawl Primark for Christmas jammies for DD. I'm sure I bought some in the January sales, but cannot find them for love, nor money!
A trip to M&s food Hall is also on the agenda, because I have my pack horse (Mr M.D), to lend a hand.

Yesrday, turned out to be a very successful day. We we went to Farmfoods to stock up on Pepsi Max ( cheaper than the supermarkets) and frozen seafood.
Just before we left home, I decided to check online for vouchers and ended up saving £9 on my shopping.

DH, unusually, decided to come into Sainsbury's with me, to pick up a parcel.
I was also returning a dress. It was so warm and cosy, but I looked like someone from Little House on the Prairie! 😁
The assistant commented; You are quite right to return it. Short people like us really don't suit those dresses! 🤣
DH, who hates shopping, disappeared, then came back with two sweaters and a snood for the golf! I got a £26 dress for £9.60. Result! The 20% off certainly seduced me!
I even made it to church and actually completed a DBS application for an elusive parishioner
The afternoon was spent watching my latest foreign drama, sans subtitles. I haven't really a clue what is going on! 🤣

My thoughts are with Megs and all those, who are poorly.
Have a good day folks.
I shall probably read your posts in the hospital and may be back later. 😁

Have only just caught up with yesterday's pists; so sorry to hear your news Megs, my thoughts are with you and sending hugs ((())).flowersflowers

Good morning from a misty, frosty Co Durham. Going to be a cold walk to drop Dgd at school.

Hopefully our missing settee will arrive today

Hugs for Mags, and for those with troubles and worries.

Susan56 Mon 21-Nov-22 07:20:39

Good morning from Shropshire.

I managed to clear my to do list yesterday🥳

We have a smart meter which I have found useful especially since the price rises.I used the tumble dryer yesterday for the bedding and towels as the weather was awful and with a busy week ahead I needed to clear the laundry.Watching the figures climb on the smart meter reminded me what a luxury it now is.

Today we are going over to Cheshire to visit my mum.Lunch out at her favourite Italian then she has an appointment at the bank🤯and then if she isn’t too tired some Christmas shopping. We will also visit my dads grave on the way into town.Hopefully it will be one of her good days🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thoughts and prayers with Megs and all with illness and worries💐

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Susan56 Mon 21-Nov-22 07:23:12

Hope your hospital appointment goes well Mary.x and the shopping!

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s 2* and cloudy.

I managed to completely mess up my plans yesterday morning by arriving for 9.30 Mass only to discover it actually started at 9.00. My only excuse is that I never go early on Sundays and Mass on weekdays is at 9.30. I must pay attention to detail.

After helping to haul yards and yards of soaking wet poppy strewn netting onto pulleys on the scout hall stage I needed a hot shower. The afternoon was lovely as DD treated us to a delicious meal at a lovely restaurant to celebrate DH’s upcoming birthday.

Work today and this week I’m up to my normal hours so I’d better get moving as I need to get tonight’s meal into the slow cooker.

Wishing everyone the best day possible. Thinking of Meg particularly this morning.

Jaxjacky Mon 21-Nov-22 07:28:31

Good morning from a damp S Hants, we’re due heavy rain today too. Mick can you photograph the meter, then make the photo bigger?
Off to our local *M&S food hall soon for aubergines, the village shops don’t stock them I’m making moussaka later.
Go careful Ash
Thoughts with Megs and her family.

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and windy corner of Somerset. Yellow weather warning in force

A repeat of yesterday on the cards today without the roast pork. Some catching up and general pottering, maybe a start on gift wrapping and cards. . Cauliflower and blue cheese soup for lunch I think. Mr C’s favourite.

Please take care ash, gently does it. Sounds a busy day ahead marydoll, you wouldn't overdo things now would you? . Meg is in my thoughts along with all experiencing sadness and worry.

Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Pittcity Mon 21-Nov-22 07:43:26

Good morning from a chilly Colchester. There's frost on the rooftops. Rain is forecast for this afternoon.
A supermarket trip and general pootling today.
DH might want to watch the football.

Love to all with a special hug for Megs 🦩x

Beechnut Mon 21-Nov-22 07:45:40

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s raining here and a miserable day expected.

I’m going to tidy my craft room today. There is so much stuff cluttering up surfaces and I keep having to move the ironing board about to get at things so before I put that away I’ll tackle the few things I have to iron.

I haven’t read anything yet so I’ll go back and see what you are all up to while I drink my tea.

Have a good day 🌧☂️
