I just came across this.
Thankfully, blue sky thinking, and outside the box seem to have vanished.
Here are the Top 10 familiar but problematic words and phrases that people want banished in 2022.

•Wait, what?
•No worries.
•At the end of the day…
•That being said…
•Asking for a friend…
•Circle back
•Deep dive
•New normal
•You’re on mute.
•Supply chain

My least favourites on here are Deep dive OFSTED speak for however good you are, we’re looking for anything you might have missed!
The New Normal used by people when you express concern about something unpleasant or inherently dangerous that is becoming commonplace.

Fanny, when people in the hospitality industry use the 'not a problem' response to my requests I always say 'I'm glad to hear that'. Reactions have varied!

Claretjan Mon 21-Nov-22 15:59:44

"Say again"
Sounds so rude!
What happened to "Could you say that again please?"

Follow my journey
Oh where have you been ?
Nowhere
Oh your experience.

Soz (so insincere) instead of sorry

Yes, Howverydareyou. That’s why I used it grin

I prefer it to SorryNotSorry,

Billybob4491 Mon 21-Nov-22 17:01:44

Basically when every sentence starts with the word basically;
and
Your call is important to us - despite being kept dangling at the end of a phone indefinitely.

Parsley3 Mon 21-Nov-22 17:05:31

I have an irrational aversion to the word chuckle. Tell me that you laugh or even guffaw but do not chuckle. It sounds so twee to my ears.

"Cis" woman. Offensive and unnecessary. A woman is simply that and requires no further clarification.

sorry you feel that way = i don;t really feel sorry or give a shit at all, it's your problem your oversensitive shit bag

Farzanah Mon 21-Nov-22 20:57:13

“Enjoy” by waiters delivering food, even when looks unappetising!
“To be honest” preceding every sentence, as if they are in the habit of lying.

Dismissing one’s feelings by the saying “ it’s a first world problem “.

Hear hear.
I absolutely cannot stand people who trot that out on chat forums. Likewise the idiots who ask 'have you nothing else to worry about?' I've been asked that when bereaved and heartbroken and just trying to distract myself with some idle chit chat on here. I'm sure it's the same for many other posters. People need to think before they post.

LancashireGran I think your definition is very kind compared with what would define it as.

My choice would that 'my truth, is the one that shows me to be a good and wonderful person and enables me to put other people down

. It does apply to someone famous, but it applies to many others, because this is what narcissists do and how they see the world.

I'm loving (e.g your hair) instead of I love. Why?

maddyone Fri 25-Nov-22 20:33:09

I’ve just looked up “ cis woman” because I didn’t know what it meant, but now I have and I dislike it intensely, too!

Nannagarra Fri 25-Nov-22 22:06:03

Still in use:
It’s on him/her/them.
Back in the day.
So…
No worries.
Jesus on a bike.
