Does doing something remind you of a GN poster?

😁

Every time I look at my phone during the night and ā€˜second guess’ what time it might be I think of Maw as years ago she did a thread on the topic. Whenever I eat a crumpet I think of EllanVannin! And at this time of year I always think of grandMattie who explained why my Christmas candle bridge could stay up until early February and it pleased me because I love it’s comforting soft light and my mum bought it for me.

Do any of you associate actions or things with any of our posters? (Or is it just me? 🤣)

Shall I send a picture of my ironing board cover😁🦩?

Janiepops Tue 22-Nov-22 12:40:18

Every time I see flamingos I think of GrandMattie, and they are everywhere!! Cushions, mugs, wallpaper! I’ve collected 3/4 over the last year or so, perhaps I dare finally send them!!😃😃

Is it just me but I really do not like posts discussing other posters?

No, not just you

TerriBull Tue 22-Nov-22 10:32:33

Gorgeous! I bet she knows it too! Thanks Fanny I do love to see people's pets something cheerful about a much loved animal.

Thank you JaneJudge, that is so lovely that you think of me when you hear an owl.
So many things make me think of you, I couldn’t narrow it down.
You know I often think about your dog’s ashes story.
Anxiety dreams involving handbags too!

Permission to speak please!🫣

Here she is Terri!

I like seeing posters' cats, or even dogs, I do associate Iam with dogs and animal welfare. I'm not sure who I think of most as far as GN cats are concerned, all I know is I've seen some lovely ones on here envy although I would add Fanny posted a picture of her dog the other day, can't remember the thread, but unbelievably cute was he or she smile

Love this thread
Thank you GrandmaSueUK! I just thought it might be a bit different, thinking of posters if you see an object!

Juliet27

When I read the name EllanVannin I think ā€˜where is she?’

Juliet27 she is just doing fine.

When ever I replant my hanging baskets I think of Phoenix after her win for the best basket a few years ago.

Anything to do with trains I think of Urms and Amserlin. Also pork for Urms and her soap dish.
Rome and TKMAXX and New York remind me of Marydoll. I remember laughing so much at her adventures there (and on the plane) that I vowed to avoid travel with her at all costs. It was like reading an episode of Some Mother Do ā€˜ave Em!
Very slim dogs always make me think of Maw as well.
Love this thread. šŸ’

Thanks, I enjoyed that! It's all so typically true - especially the bit about rummaging in the bin to find the label which tells you the weight and cooking times... that really made me chuckle!

I was thinking of Greatnan a few days ago, another pister who was very good friends with her commented on a thread I had started, which started a chain of thought, apart from her amazing ability to reel of her jokes, she was a very kind hearted compassionate lady who I shared some lovely PMs with.

Greyduster Tue 22-Nov-22 07:52:01

Kitty I suddenly thought of Greatnan too recently. We had a jokes thread back in the day and I’ve only ever known one person who could reel them off one after the other like she could (perhaps they were one and the samehmm!). And yes she was a bit scary, but not as scary as some back then!

Urmstongran Tue 22-Nov-22 07:34:31

Aw I understand Marydoll but as, out of all those places and your beloved Rome, I’ve only been to Berlin - so it’s TKMaxx I’m afraid that makes me think of you!
😁

Urmstongran

I do think of varian if I ever hear of or read about ā€˜proportional representation ā€˜.
😁

We have a TKMaxx here within walking distance, at a small retail park. I’ve never been in once over all the years, but nowadays whenever we drive past, I find that Marydoll pops in my head looking for her bargains!

I would rather be known for something more cerebral, Urms!
🤣
Paisley, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayr, Berlin, New York etc., etc., etc.
I do love a bargain. wink

Urmstongran Mon 21-Nov-22 21:13:42

Georgesgran Mon 21-Nov-22 21:05:48

Geordie humour Yammy - thank you. X

JaneJudge Mon 21-Nov-22 21:00:03

and he also isn't very nice blush but I didn't mean you were not very nice

pass me a spade, I will dig my own hole!

JaneJudge Mon 21-Nov-22 20:58:19

Aveline, the usual suspects is a film smile I don't really think you are Keyser Sƶze, he is a fictional character

Aveline Mon 21-Nov-22 20:57:10

Keyser Soze??
