Today I will bus to Bicester only , there are events taking place there related to xmas build up ,and here as well later today with light switch ons .
I noticed yesterday as to Black Friday , Bicester Village designer site was packed full car parks and they were still trying to get in later in the day .
Take Care,
Mick
Yes Urms I expect you are right.
Nice to see you in here PurplePixie
Good morning from a grey East Midlands - at least it is not raining! Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Good morning
Just sitting having a coffee before I continue with some jobs.
It seems to be brightening up a bit as I write so may take myself off for a walk soon, as I’m getting quite lazy, just sitting around too much.
I hope that all who are feeling unwell have a better day today.
Marydoll I know it’s difficult with your GP but maybe you should check with the surgery in case you need an antibiotic for your arm.
Thanks DustyAngel, but I am antiobiotics for life, just in case of any infection.
Good morning all from a soggy Glasgow.
GD2 is enjoying a bit of pampering and having our full attention, not that a 13yr old needs much attention now. We have done quite a bit of crafting and we are planning a visit to B&M/Sainsbury to find black frames for her artwork.
Wishing your DD all the best Baggs and also hoping all goes well for Grey today.
Best wishes to all for a good day.
A tick box health initiative I expect lulu for extra remuneration - hence the Saturday afternoon opening.
Good morning all from a chilly but bright Algarve, I had to gat up last night to alter the bedding around I was so cold and then slept in this morning
. Marydoll I know it’s difficult with your GP but maybe you should check with the surgery in case you need an antibiotic for your arm. I once took our cat for her injections and ended up having to have one myself as despite thick leather gloves she managed to bite me. Vets comment was, “She is a bit lively, isn’t she!”
Good morning from a sunny W Kent, a little local shopping this morning and then a visit to the GP's this afternoon where the nurses are testing over 65's for atrial fibrillation. We can't usually get an appointment so intrigued to see what is going on.
Best wishes to everyone dealing with the ups and downs of life.
Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cold, damp and cloudy morning in this corner of Lancashire today.
Not long now until you have your home back GM, you have been a real trouper and that’s such a thoughtful gift. Also MOMB, what a difference you’ve made to that family’s life.
Loving your blue skies Ginny, thank you for sharing them. They cheer me up, as do your travelogues Brook. You’ll soon be enjoying winter sunshine too Oops.
You absolutely must rest Marydoll, you keep wearing yourself out. You need to put yourself first just now.
Fingers crossed that radiotherapy is doing the job Baggs.
Thinking of Gingster and her DD and Hellogirl today, also Greyduster undergoing surgery.
Hope all our poorly grans and family members are on the mend. Wishing you all a good day.
Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Art yesterday but as seems to be the case yesterday, am never pleased with my results. Came home and carried on reading the book for the bookgroup meeting next week.
Today to a gallery over an hour away by train for lunch with friend in their restaurant. He is awaiting an op for cataracts and had a detached retina which has made him rather depressed. He coukd come over here, but doesn’t drive and would stay over, but I’m rather overtired and prefer this outing to meet up.
Best wishes for the op Greyduster thoughts to Gingster and all with worries of any kind.
Good morning all from East Yorkshire.
Late to the party and just skimmed the threads. I too was awake early at 5am not feeling well. It to be dramatic but I thought it was a heart attack. Lots of things on my mind and had to shift some heavy boxes yesterday so who knows. I feel ok if a tad shaky this morning.
Off to a Christmas fair at the church hall this morning. There is always some good finds. This afternoon I’m meeting a friend for coffee. She makes me laugh you can see her look at her watch after an hour and says she has to go. As DH says it’s my allotted time slot!
Have a good day all. Thoughts to poorly grans or family and those of us with worries.
Good morning all. It's a grey, breezy miserable day on the Angus coast with the promise of very strong winds and rain for this afternoon. Oh, the joy! But sun and a breeze tomorrow which should dry the washing, so that's compensation!
I had a pleasant day yesterday - we did a bit of tai chi for the Balance Clinic, which went down well. Afterwards I had a very animated conversation with a gentleman about Singapore which he had visited several times in his days in the Merchant Navy and where I lived in the 60s. He sort of 'lit up' talking about it. I was later told he has dementia and has full recall of the past and little memory for the present. So sad, but wonderful that he has lovely memories to go back to. I then took my friend out for a drive and for lunch at a farm shop up towards Aberdeen which we both enjoyed and where I managed to pick up some more little things as Christmas presents. The reason for going out for lunch rather than an afternoon cuppa was to allow me to get home before dusk and dark, but yesterday driving into the glare of the low setting sun was worse! There's no pleasing some folk!!
Today it's bed changing and ironing, and it's also pay day for Lovely Gardener. I was also thinking that I might go down into town - but not with that stormy forecast! I shall stay hunkered down and write
sticky address labels for the Christmas cards I haven't bought yet 😉
Loving hearing about the happy Hols of Ginny and Brook and good to hear from mumofmadboys too - I'm sure your guests will enjoy having a place of their own again as much as you will enjoy having your home back to yourselves. Fellow-feeling there from grandmattie I'm sure!
So many of you are going through difficult times just now 💐. May today be a better day
Enjoy your peanut butter Urms. Whole Earth crunchy organic is lovely one.
Have a lovely day everyone x
Good morning from a dark and wet Co Armagh
I slept till 7.30 this morning and feel a bit groggy !
I should do some Christmas cards today , but I can’t seem to get gathered , my list is a lot shorter these days , which is a bit depressing , I might tidy the spare room instead !
Good morning from a breezy and wet Boggy Brae. DD1 has completed three weeks (out of six) of daily radiotherapy zappings at The Christie. She says her hair is beginning to come out near the scar in her temple (out of which she pulled that final stitch yesterday).
Today I am going to make an apple cake with some apples from Cheshire that a friend brought me. I've put several things on the shopping list for MrB to get when he goes grocery shopping so that I can make a vegan Biriyani with dried apricots and cashews (and lots of other stuff) when DD3 and her vegan boyfriend visit in mid December. Gotta do a practice one for us first.
TOYA
Good morning everyone from a sunny south Hants - still debating whether to risk putting washing out as rain is forecast.
Busy day yesterday and managed to get loads done - such a good feeling when that happens. I even managed to get into town to try on a Seasalt coat, and then purchased it online for less than a third of the cost - result!
Was supposed to have GDs today but that’s been changed to tomorrow. Instead, I’ll put the last coat of Osmo oil on skirting/architrave ready for DH to install in third bedroom next week. It’s the only room that hasn’t been decorated since we moved in six years ago.
I’ve finally made a good start on Christmas present shopping and even wrapped some up. Just waiting on others to do their wish lists now.
I’ll go back and read your posts now - though I can see some lovely photos already - love fuerteventura, especially Jandia🤗.
Thinking of Greyduster as she undergoes her hip op and of Hellogirl
Have the best day you can - thoughts to those with worries and/or are unwell. Hugs and good wishes to you all 💐💐 x
Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.
Not a lot happening here today. DH is off to the gym and there is rugby on TV later.
Good Morning again and feeling a little more rested I managed to get a little sleep. DH is going out to the Drs for his yearly check. He’s a lot better after having his first couple of antibiotics.
When he comes back we’ll get the decorations out of the loft.
Thinking of Greyduster and wishing her well for her operation. 💐
Urmstongran enjoy your peanut butter it will taste lovely. I usually have sliced banana on too. My breakfast this morning is avocado and scrambled egg on toast with chilli flakes.
Enjoy your holidays and lovely seeing all your photos. They bring cheer on gloomy days.
Wishing everyone a lovely day and special thoughts to those suffering stress and family illness. 🌻🌻
Yesterday was a mixed success in Bath and I am horrified at how out of practice I am. The town was very busy and I was exhausted by a couple of hours and didn’t manage to buy the things I actually went for. On line success when I got home though. And to think that only three years ago I could enjoy a day in London doing Christmas shopping!
Coffee with a friend this morning and a concert this evening, and think I feel a sorting out of drawers and cupboards upstairs coming on.
Sympathy and admiration to gMattie. Great to be counting the days though!
Good morning from a breezy Durham. I had forgotten about black Friday yesterday and it took me so long to get parked in Newcastle that I missed my morning hair appointment. Luckily the salon wasn’t busy and they fitted me in early afternoon which gave me time for a wander around the streets and I was pleased to see the Christmas market back in full swing. I have an free weekend, as yet, although I’ll see my friend (who returned from a months holiday on Thursday) at some point.
Gingster I know how concerning/frustrating it is for your DD to miss treatment - DH was the same, but there’s no alternative. I hope she improves soon and can continue with her regime.
I hope -Grey’s operation is going to plan.
My heart goes out to hellogirl. I know she has quite a large family but is also the main carer for her DD. Look after yourself.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from a dull but dry Black Country. It was lovely and sunny yesterday. Clear blue sky view from our Hotel in Birmingham yesterday morning.
Took Mum to Doctor's yesterday and she has arranged an appointment to a memory clinic. Will probably be in the new year now. We all went to visit DB and SIL's new house last Saturday. DD took Mum, who said to DD she had never been before. She had the week before!
No real plans today, just go with the flow!
Wishing you all lovely Saturday.
Good morning all. A dry & dull start to the day here in Sefton. But light rain forecast for later. ☹️
A late start for me yesterday & only just managed to log on in time for my Zoom exercise class. Sleep seems to be a feast or famine situation at the moment. Then our last Pilates class of the year, a latish lunch then off to our DDiL who was up to her eyeballs prepping for the art & craft classes she runs in the community. Collected DGD1 from school, a quick burst to the play park & a walk around the park accompanied by our greyhound who wanted to sniff every blade of grass. Then back to mum, who sensibly kept out of the way, & some board games. Eventually back home for a takeaway curry tea. Phew, a busy but enjoyable day. No plans today. A slow getup, a shower & hairwash & a slathering of some of the lotions & potions I seem to have accumulated. I shall smell nice!
Positive thoughts & ((hugs)) for those of you with worries & struggles. Hope everyone's weekend goes to plan.
Good morning from Shropshire.
Yesterday went well in town.We did a lot of Christmas shopping. While DH was at the dentist I took H to the vegan restaurant for pancakes. It is perfect with his allergies as he can eat anything on the menu.
Today like Shazza we are putting up our decorations.Very early for us but a busy time ahead so while we have a quiet few days we will try to get ahead with Christmas prep.
gingster it’s good to hear your daughter is showing signs of improvement💪🏼
Thinking of Grey and hope everything is going well for her.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, rain forecast but not until this evening. A gentle morning ahead, methinks, after last night's meal out with the neighbours. We had a lovely time, good food, good wine and good company!
Off to rugby after lunch; it's looking to be a good entertaining game against the Barbarians. We should have been playing Worcester, but they went bust a few weeks back, so this game has been arranged in its place. The Barbarians is an invitational team, made from players from many different clubs plus some internationals. Should be fun!
Then home to a hotpot, and an evening in front of the tv.
Haven't read the thread yet, so will go back and do that now; hoping Saturday is kind to all.
