Turkish Delight for Christmas.

I love proper Turkish delight - lokum. But it has to be the real fresh stuff, not pre-packaged. The fresh lokum comes in lots of different varieties and isn't nearly as sickly sweet as the pre-packed stuff.

Mr Y loves it and DD sends Fortnum and Masons, he likes Hazer Baba which he brought back one time when he was in Istanbul.
We are lucky we have Chocolatiers near us called Kennedys based in Cumbria and Cornwall I think they do it online, they do all the flavours. I can also recommend their chocolates their Christmas selection has to be hidden.

I quite like the M&S Turkish delight but it is full of sugar. My mam used to make it herself but sadly I didn’t get the recipe for it from her. I did try to make it from a Delia Smith recipe and it was terrible.

Just eaten a box of Waitrose Turkish Delight and it wasn't at all good. (Obviously had to eat it anyway). 🙄

Husbands sisters are refugees in Turkey and he just brought back loads of authentic TD. I am not a fan. Much prefer a curry.

The pistachio is nice. I love any kind, including the Frys. Probably why I'm fat!

Proper Turkish Delight is quite different and lovely, it has a sprinkling of icing sugar.

We used to have some in a wooden box at Christmas but I can't remember the make.

I’m not a fan, but added a box of TD to my sister-in-law’s gift - just from M&S.

If you’re near a TKMaxx, they often have a selection of TD and not just the usual rose and lemon.

Have a look on Amazon, there are some brands eg Eren and Hazer Baba if you want an authentic Turkish product.
