Good morning from a clear, very frosty Co Durham. -1 according to Alexa.
Waiting for dgd to arrive for breakfast and walk to school, then appointment at hairdressers. Hopefully DH1 will de ice the car for me.
Thoughts for all with health or family troubles. Enjoying the holiday posts.
My fb memories tell me that 3 years ago my dsil and I were in Scotland, that was the last time I left this area ! Every time we try to organise a trip the strikes on the railways scupper our plans. Fingers crossed for next year.
Have a good day everyone.

I bet you are counting the days Mattie you really have gone above and beyond!

BlueBalou Tue 29-Nov-22 07:39:08

Good morning everyone, it’s a foggy dank start today in my corner of Wiltshire.
DH and DD plus her DDog came last night so it will be a bit hectic here first thing. I think DD is going back home today.
I have physio at 11 and I need to do a bit of shopping while I’m out.
Hope today goes well for you all x

Good morning from Hampshire. I haven't been able to read all posts as WiFi has been patchy and we've been very busy.
My Mum seemed much better yesterday and is being well looked after in hospital. We have thoroughly cleaned their tiny flat and stocked Dad up with microwave meals. We will go home this evening as I have 2 younger sisters and the middle is taking over tomorrow.
I feel like I've been hit by a bus.
Love and hugs all round 🦩x

Morning Mick, morning All from a misty and decidedly chilly corner of Somerset.

Frustrating day yesterday as the folk due to do remedial work in our neighbours home didn’t turn up and the meter man couldn’t get our gas meter to stop sulking. Oh well, round three has been booked for mid December and we’re assured the workmen will be at our neighbours home bright and early tomorrow so we can stand down today. I feel for them, the insurance company has moved them to a very basic hotel. Not as comfortable as their own home.

Hope to get out this morning to pick up a package and get some bits we need. Coffee and possibly cake will be in there somewhere.

Wonderful holiday photos, they lift my spirits. The guest family have been so well supported MofMB, time to relax a bit now. I’m delighted you’re being treated today grandmattie, a break from feeding others. Happy birthday to mr dragonfly, lunch sounds good. What a shame sar, thank goodness for online shopping

Take care everyone. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all. .

Good morning from a chilly and dark Black Country.

Walking group yesterday was in lovely sunshine! FB memory came up this morning of this time last year we were walking in snow! Had a call from DD if I could drive over to Bridgnorth for 4.30pm to pick up DGD from her piano lesson over there, then drive her home! Dad couldn't get away from his job in time. Mum to the rescue!

Blood test this morning at 9am, as 3 months ago a check up with nurse revealed my Cholesterol was slightly high! Luckily the hospital is 15 minutes walk away.

You are indeed a saint GM providing both lunch and dinner for DL's visitor. I hope they both appreciate you.

Christmas buffet with a group of ladies tonight from a Coffee group I am part of that a friend started up over a year ago. We also meet for walks once a month.

We will be in Puerto Del Carmen in March Oops

Wishing you all a lovely day.

Mumofmadboys what a wonderful thing to have done, sharing your home with a Ukrainian family for over six months. I can only guess at how grateful the family must be to you and your husband. I admire you both for what you have done, with never a word of complaint. Enjoy your well deserved rest. Best wishes to the Ukrainian family.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
A long journey yesterday but I was invited to my new tenant's for dinner with the helpers who had helped her move
She has the flat looking beautiful.

gMattie I hope once DL moves you will find some peace. Have a good time with your lunch friend
My driveway is used as a carpark too but I quite like it as it makes the house looked lived in .
I'll have to remind my dfs to take me out to lunch grin
If I were you MOMB I wouldn't cook for a very long time
Volunteering today after yoga and I'm having my hair cut later
My Helpers last day. I will miss these 2.
Happy birthday to Mr Dragonfly.

Morning all from a foggy North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening here today. DH has a volunteer drive this morning and M&S and Waitrose pickups to do for me. I am waiting in for a phone call from the gp.

Sending love and hugs to everyone!

Good morning from misty Harrogate 2degrees and a touch of frost.
Today off on our travels to Grantham. Not quite the heat that some of you are getting. Hoping to manage a trip to the Lincoln Christmas Market. Not sure how reliable the wifi will be so don’t worry if I don’t post!
You are counting the days GrandMattie. I’m surprised she is only just getting prosthetics. Somehow I thought your DL was equipped.
Have the best day possible folks

It's chilly, murky and damp here in Oxfordshire this morning. The fields are so wet but we caught some beautiful sunshine and a pretty sky on our late afternoon dog walk yesterday.
I am looking forward to a week off next week, DH and I plan to have days out, get the Xmas tree and also do some extended dog walks.
Meanwhile, its working from home for me today, 3 days at home and 2 in the office works well, who would've thought something good could come out of a pandemic.
I hope you all find some sunshine today.

Marydoll Tue 29-Nov-22 08:06:13

Good morning all, from a chilly Glasgow, but not as chilly as Polmont GB, it's 3°C here,

My precious wee Dollie was a bit better, when I visited yesterday.
The hospital consultant told DIL that they have had an increased number of paediatric asthma admissions, in the last few weeks.

I had planned to have a quiet day, but am now having an urgent meeting with the parish surveyor first thing, to deal with the massive damage to the parquet flooring, over the last week, caused by water ingress.
Our PP is still very unwell, so dealing with this, falls within my remit as Safeguarding Coordinator.
Our 1960's built church is leaking like sieve and will soon be no longer be fit for purpose, if we don't take urgent action. 😪

It so lovely to hear of all the outings and trips, it always brings me joy to hear what everyone else is doing. A sort of transferred pleasure.
Baubles, go for the angel making, writing Christmas cards is boring! As usual, I have been procrastinating.

Thinking especially of all the poorly people mentioned daily on this thread.

Beechnut, that comment did make me laugh, especially as there is a heating war going on in this house! 😆

Gala Tue 29-Nov-22 08:06:25

Good morning from dull, dank & damp Sefton. Definite room for improvement there. At least it's not foggy, which was forecast.
Zoom exercise class first thing then off into town to meet friends for lunch. We will let the train take the strain. Might incorporate a mooch round the shops first if it's not too busy.
gMattie I admire your patience. Not long now. I do hope your hospitality is appreciated.

Take care all.

GrannySomerset Tue 29-Nov-22 08:14:12

Frustrated yesterday to discover that I couldn’t print my C cards labels and have had to hand write them. Cards themselves today after supermarket shop I think. Nothing else special otherwise.

Beechnut Tue 29-Nov-22 08:18:40

Wishing a Happy Birthday to MrDragonfly 🧁🍺

MawtheMerrier Tue 29-Nov-22 08:22:21

Good morning from grey N Bucks. Aren’t I lucky, a trip to the hygienist this morning. sad Now I know why dogs hate trips to the vets. Bless her, she is lovely but I know I will be told off for not flossing well enough. It is so humiliating at my age !
Then I am meeting a friend for coffee/lunch which will make up for it. She is the mother of one of youngest D’s friends and lost her husband around this time last year. D and her D started trying to set us up on “play dates” last summer and we’ve had a few coffees, lunches, a trip to the cinema and Rushden Lakes for a serious browse around the shops together.. Then I must start on the cards. (Said that before!)
I have missed the boat with Advent calendars for the GC because of the postal strikes but might get herbal tea ones to the D’s in time if I use the long river company. Do you ever feel life is charging ahead at a speed and you can’t quite keep up?
I thought I had everything in hand, but it seems not! Ah well, wishing you safe journeys if you are travelling and a peaceful day if not, whatever you are doing.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 29-Nov-22 08:44:45

Good morning Mick and everyone from a gloomy damp Hull. The fog never lifted yesterday and driving down the A63 after picking up GS from school and not seeing the Humber Bridge in front of us was so strange as it is usually a lovely sight.

Happy birthday to your DH Dragonfly.

Matt made me chuckle Urms I will be watching the match too. There is no point me watching something else as DHs cheering is so loud and he’ll say Shaz come and watch this goal or that free kick so I might as well watch it. That’s if we score any goals. Well done on your weight loss too x

Today I’m picking up Mum and we are going to Bridlington to my uncle. He wants to go xmas shopping which to him will be 6 tubs of chocolates. We will give him instructions not to give them all to his beloved cook. The woman has the patience of a saint with my uncle.

Wishing everyone a lovely day. Thoughts to those with stress and worries weighing them down. 🌻🌻

Good Morning from a sunny S Yorks. (!)

No sign of Greyduster yet, hope she is OK

I'm glad it isn't too long now, Gmattie, and well done MOMB

Take care all and hope there is something that shines a ray of light in your day.

Good morning everyone from a very dull and overcast Northampton,.set to be like this all day, and for the next week, by the look of the weather forecast. Have reluctantly put the tumble dryer on or otherwise the bedding won't get dried.

A good visit to the optician yesterday; relieved that I didn't need to have new glasses, but then I was seduced by their huge range of lovely sun-glasses. I have been hankering after some prescription sunnies for a long time,.but couldn't really justify the extravagance before. They will be lovely for my trip to southern climes in February.

Then had a walk around an absolutely huge charity shop in town, found the complete first season box set of The West Wing, and then a Penelope Lively paperback that I hadn't read, so came out well pleased.

A morning of gentle pottering, then out for a well-being walk after lunch - will need walking boots today as it will be muddy.

Wishing all a pleasant Tuesday.

Good morning from Shropshire.

Yesterday went well.We got most of the shopping we needed and had a lovely lunch out.

I had thought I was organised with Christmas presents but had a message from DD last night saying DGD is telling everyone Santa is bringing her what I have bought.DD has asked if she can have the gift I bought to give from Santa and I will have to find something else!

Mary, I am so pleased to hear Dollie is feeling a bit better.

Urms, well done on the weight loss💪🏼💃🏻

A quieter day today hooefully. The plan is to write Christmas cards but as Maw said I too have said that before.

Have the best day you can everyone.
