Friendly baby elephant

They really are wonderful. I absolutely adore elephants and once spent a month working with them in South Africa. Special animals.

Oh, I'd have loved to do a month with animals.

Oranutangs for me, I think.

My friend and I were at the planning stage to do that, but life had other plans.

Did you see the one that was at Colchester Zoo, he was magnificent 🦧

Oh yes! He was really shaggy, too!

I can remember him piling lots of straw on his head and strutting around like it.

He once singled out a man in the crowd who was eating.

He pointed at the man, out his hand out, and made a "give it to me" gesture.

Our middle boy named him after himself, consequently in our family they are called ****’s not orang-utans.

Bringing back happy memories, happy tears 🥰

We took the Gdcs to London Zoo in the summer hols and saw their new baby elephant, barely a week old - tiny! - but he was hiding under Mummy so we didn’t get a very good look.,

Baby elephants are just so sweet. When we were on holiday in Thailand, a baby elephant, about knee high, leaned gently on me and then tried to undo my trainer laces.

Love it MissA made me smile today.
