Good Morning Everyone,
Dar, dry and cold outside here in brackley this morning.
Today, my last trip to Bicester today until 20th of the month .
I have one more appointment at my local surgery when I return from my breaks , the Colonial nursing team have requested for me to have a B12 injection as to the anaemic side of things and not a iron infusion .
Take Care,
Mick

Pleased to hear you finally got your meds. Marydoll
Whenever you feel like a trip to TKMaxx, I would be happy to be your chauffeur for the day. 😄

Good morning from half under the new, fluffy, warm duvet! When I took the old one off yesterday I realises it was a 4.5 tog summer weight- hence the need for the cashmere bed socks and the fleecy velour top over the pj's (and the dog)
I have youngest D's in laws to lunch today - spiced parsnip and carrot soup with kale crisps, bread, cheese and frangipane mince pies. So a bit of tidying up and hoovering are called for. With kind thoughts to all with health worries or sorrows or who are suffering because of the cold, keep safe, stay warm and I hope today is kind to you.

Good morning all from Glasgow and yes, hard frost and very cold again.

DD1 and I had a successful rummage around TKMaxx yesterday. We bought the same Ralph Lauren polo neck sweaters and I also had another RL lucky find, a lightweight 3/4 length light olive quilted coat at amazingly low costs. Result! Couldn’t resist buying just a few more Christmas decorations and then lunch at the nearby M&S food hall. I found it quite funny listening to her being in a panic about ensuring every last detail was covered building up to Christmas Day as I did for years. Now, I am very laid back about the whole event. Phew!
Beautiful trees GG.
I plan to start the enjoyable decorating bit today.

Best wishes to all for a good day ahead.

Good morning from a very frosty Black Country, where there has been a sprinkling of snow. Cars never defrosted yesterday at all. It is an absolutely clear sky with no clouds at the moment and it is -2.

I may go on the bus to Merry Hill shopping centre today, it only takes about 12 minutes, so not worth de-icing car. Just a few bits and bobs to get, as we only buy for the children in the family for Christmas now. I do have DD birthday on 18th December, and DS on 29th December!

Your boiler breaking down is the worst time possible baubles, fingers crossed it is sorted today.

Wishing you all a warm and safe Friday.

BlueSapphire Fri 09-Dec-22 08:16:41

Urmston, be careful with the Negroni, it's lethal! Gin, Campari and red vermouth.... It's very good though......

GrannySomerset Fri 09-Dec-22 08:14:41

DSiL will be here later to collect me for a trip northwards as we are going to watch/hear DGD1 playing in a concert in Leeds on Sunday. DD lives in Liverpool so we are spending Saturday night in York, a sentimental pilgrimage for DD and me, and being joined for dinner by DD’s best friend and her mum. All very exciting so I had best get going with packing and making sure I have all the Christmas stuff I need to take with me. I haven’t been away since Easter so this is all quite a big thing.

Bitterly cold and I am not surprised that those less than well are struggling. Glad Marydoll managed to get her meds, though what a ludicrous struggle! Times like this when obstinacy and determination become life saving qualities. Keep warm.

Marydoll Fri 09-Dec-22 08:12:56

Hope you manage your meet up, Grandamadinosaur and Shazza.
I love meeting the Glesca Grannies, its always a tonic!

Wyllow3 Fri 09-Dec-22 08:06:26

Morning all from S Yorks where I have a blanket of snow in the garden. Pretty in the rising sun but oh so chilly.

Today is the first day in about 9 days I have no must do's just a couple of admin should do's so I intend to just take the day as it comes. the car has just started showing a "Service me" note on the dashboard so I'll have to check out, "what sort, how big"

I have a christmas tree outside to bring in, its the "how" as it's now very heavy.

Divorce documents finally signed: just need to hear from my solicitor that Ex has filled it in appropriately before it goes off to the court so they don't query it (you have to prove asset division fair).

Not long to go now GM fingers crossed!

Bests to all braving what will probably be busy shops: bests for poorlies and family poorlies.

Another good morning from S Lanarkshire, baubles take care and don’t overdo it.

A lovely day out yesterday when DD5 treated me to a magnificent lunch at a well known Glasgow restaurant which I had never visited before. It was a real treat and so good to sit chatting , just the two of us. Although I stay over with them every week, we are usually very child focussed!

A slight moment of dismay as I dozed my way home on the train, when I suddenly remembered that I had arranged to go with a friend to a local Choral Union concert at 7 pm.
However, face washed and ready in time(!) I thoroughly enjoyed all the Christmas songs and, as the money raised is going to the Foodbank, it was well worth the effort everyone had put in.

Much needed tidying and card writing today and I wish everyone the best day possible. Always remembering those of us who need extra support 🦩🦩🦩

Grandmadinosaur Fri 09-Dec-22 08:00:47

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s very cold and temps could be as low as -2 today.

I had a very enjoyable day yesterday
I’m London. The trains were on time so no issues there apart from my return journey having a loud obnoxious msn sat in front of me who loved his own voice. Two and a half hours of that to contend with 😬

I got a taxi from Kings Cross with my friend and her mum. It was lovely seeing all the Christmas displays everywhere. We had a drink at there hotel and then we took the short walk to the Ritz. Had a very welcome glass of champagne and I could have stayed there with them all afternoon! I enjoyed Mary Poppins although I didn’t feel too well in the theatre and on and off for the rest of the day.
I still don’t feel too brilliant this morning. I am due to meet Shazza for coffee later. We also have GS after school today as he had his school disco yesterday so changed his day. I’ve just made a cuppa and I’m going back to bed for a while.

Have a good day everyone.

Pittcity Fri 09-Dec-22 08:00:28

Good morning from a frosty Colchester. Looks a bit greyer than yesterday too.
DS came home last night after having his ingrown toenail treated. He needs his Mum to nurse him. Men should have to give birth so that they can experience real pain.
DH has been fishing overnight and will need defrosting when he gets home.
I will walk to Aldi for supplies later once the temperature gets up to the promised 3 degrees.
Love to all 🦩 x

dragonfly46 Fri 09-Dec-22 07:59:42

Lovely trees GG.

Marydoll Fri 09-Dec-22 07:58:31

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where its -1°C.
Like you GG, I had a bad night, the extreme cold is increasing my pain levels. I currently have a hot water round my hip, brought by my beloved.
Lots of very realistic dreams last night.I awoke thinking I had a new baby, red haired grandson, (DS2 has bright red hair), who could talk like an adult. If only.....

Yesterday, after much faffing about again, I eventually got my heart medication, kindly driven by Mr MD. Thank goodness! I had none to get me over the weekend. It has taken ten days of angst to sort this out.😡
The pharmacist greeted me with: So you are the VIP!
I was tempted to say: If that's how you treat VIPs, I would hate to think of how you treat ordinary punters.
I, however, fixed a grin on my face and politely thanked the pharmacist, who said that they are spending much of their time, sourcing unavailable meds, which come from Europe.

I gave some documents to deliver to Dollie's school and my own former workplace, for my, still unwell PP, so I thought I could time it for Dollie coming out at 3pm. 😍
The LA IT system keeps blocking the attachments, so they need to be hand delivered. It hasn't changed then, since I worked there!

Kalu, I hope you had a good day yesterday, and your TKMAXX visit was successful.. I haven't been there since way before Covid. It's quick and easy journey for you, but I have to drive the twisty dams road, which I do not like! I seem to have lost confidence, when I once thought nothing of driving to England.

For all who are struggling, I send my prayers and best wishes.
Enjoy your day folks.

dragonfly46 Fri 09-Dec-22 07:55:31

Good morning from a white Leicestershire, the frost is thick on the road.

I bought my last present yesterday so today, after a quick dash to Sainsbury’s, I will be wrapping.

I hope you have your heating on Urms it is -3 here!
Sorry to hear you are not sleeping Ash I find these days a good night makes all the difference.
Great news your appetite is back kitty you will get your strength back in no time!

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Grandmabatty Fri 09-Dec-22 07:54:21

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0° and dry and frosty. There's some cloud cover. We had a few flurries of snow yesterday but not enough to lie. Lovely trees Grannygravy I hope you get the boiler sorted Baubles. This is not the weather for a broken down one!
Yesterday I got more Christmas presents but the jigsaw I wanted for my brother wasn't available so I'll have to head to Stirling for it. The tree and decorations are up but I haven't written cards yet.
Today I might head to Stirling fairly early as I have another delivery due later. Apart from that, I've nothing planned. Have a good day all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 09-Dec-22 07:50:50

Morning all from a very frosty looking West Oxfordshire. The scene outside my bedroom window is of a white expanse. It is the final two lectures of my V&A Interiors course this morning. After lunch I have quite a bit of WI admin to do including typing up the notes from Wednesday’s committee meeting. I am not intending to leave the house today! I found it pretty scary walking back from my friend’s last night. The pavements were extremely icy and I have a history of falling over! Have a good day.

ShazzaKanazza Fri 09-Dec-22 07:50:02

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a frosty Hull. I threw water over my windscreen yesterday morning to clear it but realised when I got it thrown back at me that my wipers were on the automatic mode. 🤦 I’m really having a stupid week this week with my Christmas shed head.

Baubles hope your boiler gets fixed today.

GrannyGravy your trees look lovely 🎄

This morning I’m hopefully going for a cuppa with Grandmadinosaur if she isn’t too exhausted from her visit to London yesterday.
Picking up GS from school and chauffeuring DH to his night out with friends and back. I’ll have an Indian takeaway for tea.

Hoping everyone has a lovely day and is able to stay warm. Sending my virtual hugs to those suffering stress and worries. 🌻🎄

BlueBalou Fri 09-Dec-22 07:40:12

Good Morning from a very frosty Wiltshire, I hope it’s a bit warmer later.
Off to the hairdresser first thing then not much in particular. I will pop into the village câfè for two of their delicious baguettes for lunch on the way back.
I have several bits of sewing to do, taking up trouser hems and shortening a long skirt but they’re all black or black patterned so I need good light and a bit more enthusiasm 🙄😀
Take care everyone x

Urmstongran Fri 09-Dec-22 07:38:24

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it doesn’t look as chilly out. Less/no frost on the rooftops anyway and the sun is just coming up. The sky is a cloudless pale blue wash with a band of blood orange over to the east.

Our plans today are similar to yours BlueSapphire, get the bus to the Trafford Centre to finish off our Christmas shopping. Not much more to buy, a good hour should do it.

Then tonight Himself is babysitting solo as it’s my Christmas book club meal. A cocktail first in the Loungers bar below - I’m going to try a negroni. I’ve never had one before and as my NY resolution is to taste new alcoholic drinks (!) I thought I’d make a start. We then move up the road to a long established Spanish family restaurant. I’ve bought a new long sleeved top from FatFace in a brushed cotton which should keep me cosy!

Beautiful tree GG13! I’ll show you mine on Tuesday. 😁. Glad to hear your appetite has returned kitty enjoyment of food is one of life’s real pleasures (especially at Christmas!). Have a good Friday all who can. x

harrigran Fri 09-Dec-22 07:36:29

Good morning from a very cold, crunchy NE. It snowed yesterday afternoon, stayed and froze and now I can hear every vehicle making its way down the street.
No plans for today so will just do some light housework and catch up on more TV.
SIL had a cold when he came on Wednesday, checked up him yesterday and it had gone to his chest and was aggravating his asthma.
DD is in Geneva and they do not have any snow, in fact it is way warmer than the North of England.
No gift shopping done, I need DIL to tell me what GDs want but she hasn't yet and youngest is off to Italy next week on a ski trip.
Take care if you are venturing out, I can see this ice causing havoc.

Jaxjacky Fri 09-Dec-22 07:36:12

Morning from a cold S Hants, -4, feeling for my son who’s cycled to work.
That’s good you’re hungry kitty, free reign.
Beautiful trees GG13 ours is coming on Monday.
I’ve a parcel to post, M&S to collect a parcel, put some fuel in my car, then hunker down. MrJ is de icing as I type.
Have a good day, stay off the ice! 🦩🦩

baubles Fri 09-Dec-22 07:30:34

Beautiful trees GG. 🎄

baubles Fri 09-Dec-22 07:29:48

Good morning all from frosty South Lanarkshire.

I’m tired this morning but have to get going as I’m working an extra day to cover annual leave.

Yesterday was quite full on with all the poorly children although the eldest is feeling much better and has recovered her usual energy levels. DH took her out for a long walk.

We’ve been without hot water and heating since Wednesday morning when the boiler was making ominous noises. DH went to investigate and discovered the display was showing a fault. Engineer is booked for later today.

Have the best day possible everyone.

brook2704 Fri 09-Dec-22 07:29:34

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had some overnight snow and it’s looking very wintry.
Today I’m going to the gym for a dance class followed by a swim, at least I’ll be staying nice and warm there. I might even go into the steam room to get really hot but I can only stand the heat for a couple of minutes! I’m then meeting up with my friend for coffee and a good long catch up so that’ll be most of the day sorted
Your Christmas trees look beautiful GG13 hope you sleep better tonight
Good to hear your appetite is back kitty enjoy your tea later!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

GrannyGravy13 Fri 09-Dec-22 07:12:44

Morning Mick and all

Dark, cold and very frosty here in S E Essex.

Not sure if I will go to the gym this morning, I had a bad nights sleep awake from 2am till 5am I am feeling so very tired 😴

I have to pick up The Imp from pre-school at lunchtime, let’s hope he wants to read or a nice quiet game as I think my energy might be rather low.

Both trees are finally up and dressed, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎄

Wishing you a fab Friday folks 🤶🎄🎁
