I loved Bette Davies in All About Eve, and Baby Jane

Who would you cast in Ingrid Bergmans place Mawthemerrier?

I’m sure this is heresy but I never really”got” Casa Blanca and I have never liked Ingrid Bergman (or indeed many of the so-called “greats” like Bette Davis - IMO they both overact appallingly! )

We have it on DVD and watch it about once a year. I've never seen it on the big screen though, and I'd like that.

Imagine if it had been made with Ronald Reagan instead of Humphrey Bogart as was planned - I don't think we would still be watching it somehow.

I’m currently reading Ingrid Bergman: My Story. Fascinating woman, I’m up to where she’s gone to Italy to be with Roberto Rossellini. And yes, Casablanca has absolutely held it’s appeal.

We went to a screening of Casa Blanca at the Curzon in Ripon today, it was just magical.
I have never seen the film before which made it more special.
It was a wonderful way to spend a chilly Saturday afternoon.
