First time after lockdown i I was able to take the GC swimming (pool divided in half ). I’ll never forget their faces full of pure joy , brought a tear to my eye then and now remembering it.

A lovely OP and a lovely, happy thread. 😍

My mum often recalled me saying (on the walk to school) "I'm so cold even the inside of my cheeks are cold". I can still remember it too.
Must have been early/mid 60s

Children certainly remind us that life is to be enjoyed despite its ups and downs!
Such meaningful stories here to treasure. ❤️

Tha tirggered a happy memory. It was the first time I could visit my family as first Covid rules relaxed for outdoors, and the first visit for them from any family

. Went up in that glorious weather to a nature reserve outside - lots of laughter and fun. Durham and all was bright and alive. GS1 heaved a sigh and said, this is the best day or our life.

Thank you Witzend, a lovely thread.

Last week, my 7yr old DGD walked into her daddy's home office and said; Daddy, I have a lovely life, a lovely mummy and and daddy, a lovely gran and papa and lovely friends. I am so happy. 😭

PS. Witzend, after all these years on GN, I have properly read your name and realised the joke. 🤣

Marydoll Wed 14-Dec-22 07:47:56

Wylliw3, your hyperlinks should be blue, for the phtos to post. You need to change the format.

Not wishing to spoil this lovely thread and be a spoilsport, but just giving a gentle reminder about posting photos on a public forum, which could identify you or your family..

Wyllow3 Wed 14-Dec-22 07:55:06

Thank you Marydoll for the reminder, but you'll see this tell us little

Great, I was surprised, as I knew your were on the ball!

Sometimes, we get carried away in the moment, I've done it once!

Wyllow3 Wed 14-Dec-22 08:22:31

Its a great reminder Marydoll no worries x

Harris27 Wed 14-Dec-22 08:24:41

Brilliant!

I only post pictures with my daughters approval, she’s said anything she posts on Facebook I’m free to do the same. As ex IBM I understand the timely reminder MD, thanks.

3yr old Dgs on being allowed on the bungee ropes with elder brother shouting while bouncing up and down I'm living the dream.

Witzend Wed 14-Dec-22 09:14:46

Marydoll, it wasn’t exactly a joke when I first used it - for too many years I used a forum for carers of people with dementia. (Mother and FiL both had it.)

Just couldn’t be bothered to think of another when new to GN.

Marydoll Wed 14-Dec-22 09:22:25

In my head it was pronounced as Wizened. Sorry!

Both my parents and my MIL had dementia, I can empathise.

Its often the simplest of things that give the greatest pleasure isn't it?. .

Wyllow3 Wed 14-Dec-22 12:42:24

I happened to be taking a short video on my phone when he said it, I have it forever.

As I push myself to do things that don't appeal (Maw's post) - "Rudolph's Rock Out" wasn't as headache inducing noisy as I feared.

Our GC GGC loved it - "Best day this week".
