Urms it looks lovely. Blossoming corned beef hash also sounds epic. I am having leftover mince and dumplings. Yiayia you are doing well. The boys are away home and I have tidied up the mayhem. Poor dgs2 isnt at his best as he has a terrible cough and a very runny nose. The naps weren't great. Of course it could be teething. And horrible nappies. Dgs1 wants a fried egg and fried bread for breakfast tomorrow so I will oblige. I actually feel less tired than last week although it was a more challenging day. Perhaps I'm getting used to it.

Sounds like you’re having a wonderful time Urms. I’ve been mainly Waitrose shopping and doing laundry. Just spent the last half hour or so knitting a long tunic type jumper. Milo and Ripley are curled up next to me, purring. They are old enough now not to play with wool anymore! OH is cooking tonight so it’s a Charlie Bigham Chicken Satay thing with rice. I think there’s some of yesterday’s Queen of Puddings left too. My iPad is refusing to charge, although the same charger works for my iPhone. I’ll have to sort it out tomorrow (new battery?) as I use the iPad more often. Have a good evening.

Baggs Clouds are such interesting features to capture in paint. The book marker that you sent me is very pleasing. Is that something that you created?

Yes, that was one of my colour testing papers, soop. Sometimes they come out quite well. I have framed another that is suggestive (to me) of sky and hills and a loch.

Paiting things that actually look like anything real is another matter entirely as far as my 'talents' go though grin.

Active day today. We were off across to bridge with one of ours who generously acted as chauffeur to begin to sort/ empty a garden shed for our friend. It’s not been investigated for 12 years. As you can imagine many of the ‘it will be useful one day’ odd pieces of wood, metal and plastic were unearthed along with unidentifiable rusty objects. Two recycling centre trips later they were disposed of.

Our son has taken custody of many tools belonging to our friends husband. There is about 2/3 of the shed still to go. Oh heck. I quite enjoyed helping pull things out and load the car, but then the sun was shining. In the rain? Nope!

A relaxing evening under my heated throw and catchup tv feels just right. There was a little wine left from the weekend, now in glasses and waiting for us.

If you could send some warmth in the sun here that would be excellent urm. envy? Me? Maybe! Hope the delivery is a huge help soop.

Wine time now. Take care everyone.

What a lovely, warm, comforting place this kitchen is! I still have a plain chocolate orange left from my Christmas stocking. I’m full of corned beef hash now so am planning on cracking it open to share if anyone would care for a piece.

brook2704 Mon 16-Jan-23 22:19:19

Ooh yes please blossoming count me in!

Jaxjacky Mon 16-Jan-23 22:41:36

Pub quiz was ‘challenging’ as was de icing the car, but fun with friends, lots of laughs and that’s the best.
Hope your service delivers soop🤞.
I don’t like chocolate Blossoming but MrJ is partial if I may?
Snuggle up warm kitcheners and sleep well x

Blossoming Mon 16-Jan-23 22:50:22

By all means Jax: he’s very welcome.

MawtheMerrier Mon 16-Jan-23 23:14:05

It’s going to be a cold night. Rose hopes you are all tucked up snug as a bug (or a greyhound)) in a rug . Night night

We've had a phone conversation with the stoma nurse. A pain develops (on occasions) overnight. I find it tricky to stand upright if I need to go to the bathroom. If this pain becomes a regular feature, I need to talk to the GP.

I will read and respond to your many messages during the afternoon.

Have just taken a photo, through the window, of the snow-capped peaks on the island of Jura. I shall share with you in due course.

soop Tue 17-Jan-23 13:06:43

Here be the view from the window. Snow-capped peaks on the island of Jura. No snow in Kintyre...yet.

Nannytopsy Tue 17-Jan-23 14:06:21

Lovely photo soop.
We are taking five minutes before we fetch DGC, take one to tennis etc etc
It’s a beautiful day here - long May it last!

soop Tue 17-Jan-23 15:37:28

I have enjoyed reading all your messages and the photos are very cheering.

The pet portrait has reached a certain stage. I could leave it well alone and feel satisfied up to a point, or tiddle with it and possibly ruin that which I've achieved.

I shall photograph it and share with you. I am happy to hear your comments, whether they be complimentary, or not.

What a beautiful photo, Soop! We have a blue sky here in Oxfordshire which probably means another frost tonight. I popped out in my car today at 12 noon and had to scrape ice off the windscreen. I tried my new soup maker today. Vegetable soup with homemade pheasant stock, and it was a perfect colour and texture. It did NOT taste of a thing until we added lots of grated cheese! Maybe I’ll try sweetcorn and chicken next. OH is starting a course tonight on beekeeping. He’s very excited. I’ll catch up with Death in Paradise. Have a good evening.

Good afternoon kitcheners, I hope everyone is managing to keep warm today. Lots of snow here again in Inverness and more on the way. 🥶☃️
DGDs after school dance class followed by choir practice have both been cancelled due to the weather. That means we don’t have to go out to help with the pick up and drop off this week 😀
I’ve had an incredibly lazy day, not really done anything except a walk around the garden to take some snowy pictures and I made some warming vegetable soup.
The view from your window with the snow capped peaks is beautiful soop thanks for sharing
Rosie looked well wrapped up last night maw, more of the same tonight I expect

brook2704 Tue 17-Jan-23 15:52:50

Oh your soup looks good llfl I don’t have a soup maker but DD2 has one and uses it all the time

soop Tue 17-Jan-23 15:56:46

More fab photos. Thank you.

Here is the water colour of a long deceased, much loved cat. Mr Soop advises me to leave it alone. He will back and mount it tomorrow.

soop Tue 17-Jan-23 16:03:42

It's strange that the image has turned itself side on. I shall try again

Baggs Tue 17-Jan-23 16:06:16

It's lovely, soop. I echo MrSoop's advice to leave it alone now.

soop Tue 17-Jan-23 16:07:11

Ta da! Got the image to right itself. Now I need to empty the washing machine. Stuff to do before relaxing with a brew.

I shall be with you all again tomorrow. Stay warm. smile moon

dragonfly46 Tue 17-Jan-23 16:08:02

That’s a beautiful picture soop.

Charleygirl5 Tue 17-Jan-23 16:13:57

soop when was the last time Mr Soop was wrong? Exactly!

Ali23 Tue 17-Jan-23 16:18:50

Love the cat portrait, Soop. Like others, it feels finished to me. A very ‘knowing’ cat by the looks if it!

brook2704 Tue 17-Jan-23 16:21:00

A lovely cat soop, well done you!
