All good pals and jolly good company.
A warm welcome to you all. Please make yourselves comfortable.

Well that’s very annoying re your hob dusty, the eating out, not annoying at all though!
Niene, I laughed out loud at your story!🤣🤣🤣
And Forest lost 3-0 urms and we watched all of it!!
Commiserations kitty! Actually NF is the 2nd favourite team Himself likes. He admired Brian Clough so much! ‘the best manager England never had’.
Welcome back Urms. Tea and toast hits the spot.
Thanks for your ‘welcome back’ messages peeps. The kitchen is such a lovely haven isn’t it?
dustyangel I’ve been trying to think of veggies you can do in the oven. Jacket potatoes is all can come up with. Or stuffed mushrooms ... delicious but ‘life’s too short’ etc.
🤣
dustyangel have you got a microwave? That may solve some problems.
Welcome back Urms. We go away in 7 weeks and I am already planning the packing! I think 2 new suitcases, as ours haven’t been the same since DS borrowed them …
We had a 3 hour PCC meeting in our dining room tonight. There was a lot to do! Lots of emails and letters to send tomorrow (I’m secretary).
Time for bed - night night everyone. 💤
I love oven roasted veg Dusty. Tomato, courgette, pepper and onion is a favourite as is carrot and parsnip.
A bit of oil and a few herbs, yum.
I've managed to read through all the posts now ..it took me 3 hours. I'm now on the coach to London for work. I'm finding it harder and harder to leave our cottage and DOH. That must sound soppy but finding my soul mate at 63 was so unexpected and knowing I have less time ahead of me than behind I want to make the most of the wonderfulness of it. It's been a stressful couple of weeks for us both. The second financial hearing for his divorce took place and necessitated going to court in London. He was really worried about having to see his ex... It's fine to fall out of love with someone but you don't need to destroy them in the process. In the end we were very lucky to have a fair judge and an agreement was reached which meant no 3rd hearing which I think frankly she would have wanted to avoid as her behaviour and conduct would have been aired in court along with the testaments from witnesses as to her treatment of DOH. It was a very relieved couple that travelled back to Somerset very late. We were both a bit shell shocked for the rest of the week to be honest. I'm back doing Pilates and had a wonderful electro something treatment that did help with the pain and I'm planning to have another one next week. I've been referred to the spinal team too and have a triage phone appointment on Feb 6th.
I hope Soop that they resolve the problem very soon. You have been very patient I think.
Urms... I'm glad you had a fabulous break and got to see and feel the sun. I'm very jealous.
Granmarie ..I'm glad I made you laugh.
Dusty... What about Roasted Piedmont Peppers?
It's a Delia recipe and one of my favourites.
I volunteered to help at lunch that's held in the next village for anyone who wants to come. It's soup and a dessert. I was thrown a bit when asked to make a hot pudding and a soup as I thought I was merely waitressing. In the end I made what seemed to be a popular roasted parsnip soup and spiced apple and almond pudding. DOH has taken the last of the soup to work today and polished off the remaining pud last night. I also made 2 loaves of bread from a Rachel Allen recipe (Her Dad's brown bread) we sampled a tiny bit before putting one in the freezer and it was lush. I think I'm going to have sample it again before Lent starts and I give up bread entirely. I've popped some on the side for you to try.
It's lovely to be back in the kitchen again and even when I'm not popping in I keep you all in my prayers.
Lovely to see you here again llfl and thanks for sharing all your latest news. I hope you have a good day at work, take care
Sorry that was meant for naughty ! Duh - silly me I’m having a very senior moment ! 🤣
Hello. I’ve just got back from my lunchtime Book group. I had a prawn sandwich and tiffin for lunch. Tasty. We talked about the books we had for Christmas. I mentioned the Agatha Christie biography by Lucy Worsley, which is excellent. Next month we are all reading The Go Between by L P Hartley . I think most of us have already read it. In fact, I talked about it a few months ago as the theme was books published in the year of our birth. I think OH is cooking a Charlie Bigham for dinner and then I’m popping round to a friend’s for the evening. OH will catch up with some old football matches. Have a good evening.
Good afternoon kitcheners. It's a lovely bright day here but I'm feeling a little unwell so I'm pottering. Nothing major but I have a niggling pain. I have got all the housework done and have a very tidy house. Have a good afternoon kitcheners
Grandmabatty, have a good rest and if your pain continues to niggle, please seek advice/ help. You've had a couple of very busy days, hope you feel better soon. 💐
Neine I’m glad you and your DOH have got the court hearing out of the way. Thank you for thinking of me amongst all your concerns with that and health as well. I used to love Delia’s recipes so I shall look that one to try. Thank you to everyone else for your good ideas as well., our son in law is arriving tomorrow for a long weekend and as it’s his birthday and he’s also helping us out with a couple of awkward jobs, we’ll take him out for a couple of meals and hope it’s all sorted out by then. I’m hoping we won’t have to replace the hob.
I seem to have been writing this post on and off for the last couple of days, I’d better finish off a few things before I can catch up with you all again.
Lovely to have you back with us lot Naughtyneine. Thank you for making me chuckle.
This will be a brief visit. Sorry! Another good friend of ours has been given two weeks to live. Her niece has phoned to say that she and her husband will be calling in very shortly. XXX
Just got home from shopping outlet ,I got a lightweight jacket ready for warmer weather ! We heard last night one of our neighbours has had a bad stroke he is a very fit 87yrs old normally .I really enjoy tea and toast Urms . I better get some tidying up done .
Good evening dear Kitcheners. A quick visit, the hospital rang this morning. I’m booked in for a fluorescein angiogram (eye scan) tomorrow morning at 9am. I’m feeling very nauseous so not doing much of anything today. Will try and catch up on posts, still struggling with reading the screen. I’m glad to see you’ve had some positive progress Neine after all you and your OH have been through.
Such sad news soop about your dear friend, sending much ❤️
Also to your neighbour hulahoop, hoping he recovers ok
Sorry to hear you’re feeling unwell grandmabatty hope the pain doesn’t linger and goes away soon. I’ve also been busy cleaning today but not much else. DH has just gone out to take DGS to his football practice, he’ll be cold when he gets in later so I’ve made some spicy parsnip soup, that should warm him up ok
Hoping the scan goes ok tomorrow Blossoming
Sorry to hear about poorly friends and neighbours, I hope they are getting all the support they need.
Good luck for your scan tomorrow, Blossoming, I hope you feel better soon.
My lovely hairdresser has just been, I had my cut and colour done and my sisters had theirs done too, feeing perked up a bit!1🥰 We had lentil soup and shortbread in between times, I'll leave some on the side to warm you up.
Good luck for tomorrow Blossoming. I hope they find that something can be done to help.
I’m sorry to hear about poorly friends and neighbours.
soop your friends niece’s phone call must have been an awful shock, how terrible for your poor friends.
Oh soop, I’m sorry there is more sadness.
There seem to be many poorly friends and neighbours, my thoughts are with them and those who love them. We’ve got our share of poorly friends too. Mr C says of course, we are all of an age and bits wear out. True but doesn’t mean I like it.
Good luck for tomorrow blossoming. Hope you feel better tomorrow grandmabatty.
Decent day here, yesterdays fog has disappeared and there were some bright spells. Cleared an admin backlog this morning. Mr C discovered why a socket wasn’t working and says he’ll change it tomorrow. I’ll be holding my breath during the process. Hair cut for me in thr morning, Mr C has an eye test early afternoon. The day will fly by.
Wishing you all well. Take care.
