Epilator, just used mine this morning for a tidy up, it will last as long as a wax as the hairs are pulled out by the roots,

I use tweezers but also swear by Alida Facial Hair Remover about £7 in Amazon. Its like very fine sandpaper you use on your lip, chin etc. I find it doesn't cause a rash, painless and is easy to use.

I’m a convert!! I recently upgraded to a rechargeable one. I resisted for years, believing that shaving makes the hairs grow back thicker, it doesn’t!!

Regular waxing, I get mine done every 6 weeks, makes the hairs finer and is the least dangerous option!

And it only works on pigmented hair, so if you’re older and your facial hair is white, don’t waste your money.

After years of trying all kinds of methods, I’ve finally settled on professional waxing every three to four weeks. Not the cheapest, and you have to let the hair grow until it’s as long as a grain of rice in order for it to work, but the longer you do it, the slower and weaker the hair growth.

The only 'puller outer' I use is a pair of good tweezers, and this is just for the stronger hairs. I shave my top lip every couple of days. I also use hair lightener on my face (available from Boots and also there are other versions) and I did use it on lower arms and the back of my hands, but they are less hairy now as I get older. I come from a very hairy family - my father had a lot of body hair even in old age. DH is very hairy too, so our sons are likewise. We didn't have any daughters, or goodness knows what problems they would have had!

Tweezers for me. But before my daughter’s wedding I had my whole face done with the threading method. Stings a bit, but surprisingly I didn’t come away with a red face.

We had a couple of ladies in our shopping mall that did threading, pre covid.

I didn't need it then, but I wish they'd come back.

I'm really lucky ,our local shopping centre has ladies who use a thread to de-fuzz eye brows, top lip , chin and throat. Not an answer to original post but worth looking out for .

For goodness sake, go to a beauty salon and get it safely waxed or threaded off. Or as someone suggested a facial hair remover

It did make my eyes water a bit at first, but after a few uses every couple of weeks I seem to have become less sensitive to the sensation of the hairs being plucked out. I use it on my upper lip and even my underarms! So great to have smooth lip and armpits for weeks at a time. If the odd chin/lip hair springs up in between I either just use tweezers or zip over the area with the epilator. It also has a little light which shows up the offending hair nicely!

I have one of these and find it does a great job.

Having thick dark hair, (rather had thick dark hair) I’ve been using an epilator since my twenties. I’ve only had two so they lasted a long time, current one still doing a great job and it’s got to be 15 years old. I used to have my tash ‘sugared’ or waxed when younger but had a problem with in-growing hairs. Since I realised my ‘leg’ epilator did the same job for my face, I’ve never looked back. Once a week and delighted with it. It’s the older Braun version, waterproof though I’ve never used it in water, and has the massage attachments, again never used. I got it 30% off plus it had a 90 days trial if you didn’t like it. It does the job and using a magnifying mirror I catch and stubborn ones with tweezers, usually just one or two. And it’s soft regrowth which is better than these new ‘women’s razer’ type things on sale everywhere.

I second VioletSky. I have had one of these for years and would recommend. I also use a tweezers now and again but very rarely.

My gran used to do the burn with a lighter trick. I was so fascinated as a child when she did it. Crackle pop szzzz hairs gone!
Not sure I would recommend it though.

It's easy to use (once you get the knack) and very effective 🙂

I have a small spring type thing that you roll over your face and it pulls the hairs. It can be uncomfortable to start with and I don't recommend doing your top lip unless you're very brave or have a very high pain threshold! It smarts a bit and makes my eyes water but is effective.

I give up! 🙄

Nobody has mentioned creams….any good!?
