Callistemon21. In NZ in the sixties I don't think there was such a thing as a lawnmower, one just borrowed a sheep.

. We spent a few years just outside Corpus Christi, Texas (USA). A Longhorn Steer (bull) wandered onto our property from the neighboring ranch. I ran out to "herd" it back by waving a stick and yelling at it. It worked. Well ... almost. Just as we got a quarter-of-a-mile down the driveway, the steer turn toward me and pawed the ground. I'd seen enough Bugs Bunny cartoons to know what that meant. As I ran back up the driveway my wife, hearing my shouting, came out on the deck. Eye's wide, she raced back inside and returned -- with a camera.

Someone in our village was having a garden day with people visiting.
The farmer's cows got loose and as the gate was open went into the garden and paddled in the pond.
Not a dry eye in the village from laughing, none of us knew that cows could read. A sign said"Open Garden".

Friends were hoping to buy a house in the country then discovered that the farmer next door had the right to take his cows along their drive.
They bought a different house.

When I moved to the country to our new build house (no longer there), I finally got the very large garden levelled and seeded. After a lot of money spent on it, a few weeks we were finally getting a lawn. Well until I came back from shopping to find the farmers cows all over it. Their hooves had messed it all up and the ground was covered in deep holes and I was like a raging lunatic.

Hope you are charging the farmer for grazing rights. A Christmas turkey perhaps!

Supposedly badgers, but I can tell you for certain that it doesnt work. Let's just say though, in case you are wondering, that we used a watering can rather than sending DH out to apply this supposed deterrent direct

I've had a badger coming into the front garden this last couple of years, but it has churned up all the moss grass, looking for food, rather than 'mowing' it. Anyone got any tips on how to train it?

hazel93, you are lucky! I've just come back from the butcher and gazed lovingly at beautiful Hampshire lamb chops. £27.40 or so a kg. If your visitors don't go . . .

My son in Glostershire came back from holiday to find foxes had dug a den under his shed. In the summer a Fox was coming downstairs. It had been sleeping on his bed. He lives in the middle of the village.
My niece in Barbados has lately been plagued with monkeys which have stripped the mango trees and bananas and are running all over the roof. They are not frightened of her three dogs. Two rotweilers and a German shepherd.

My daughters two bunnies keep the garden fertilised and trimmed. They do a wonderful job. I was worried in the summer they would run out.
We are down to only one now. Poor Peter was hopping one minute and prone the next.
My daughter was so upset.
