At least sheep are gentle. We had wild boar once and yes, the cat took them on!

The sheep will know exactly where they got into your garden and how to get out again. Just gently usher them towards the boundary, wave your arms a bit if necessary, and they'll probably exit quite easily. Don't chase them, though, as they'll panic and be all over the place!

I grew up in rural Devon so more than happy to deal with a few sheep but they were not posing any problem rather helping as grass does need cutting ! Quite happy to have left them but cats were watching and crying to get out.
Always a leader within a flock of sheep, always a cat that will defend territory. Our cats instantly knew the one to go for, quick nip at the ankle was all it took the rest followed. Wish they could have finished the job to be honest !

I meant cutting the grass not harming the sheep !!

We have had a couple of sheep in the garden before - but the best visitors were half-a-dozen deer who just casually wandered in one day,.

Sheep will safely Graze.

Should have said are the shepherds round the corner?They might appear at midnight.

My favourite garden visitors, at a different house, were pine martens. So beautiful, and very fond of Jammy Dodgers.

Blossoming, we were lucky enough to see a pine marten while in holiday in Scotland. It came at night to sample the
jammy snack we had left for it. The owner of the house had set up a light system whereby the visitor triggered a switch so that we were aware of his visits. It’s the only time I’ve seen one.

Who needs a sheepdog when there's a sheepcat on hand! I'm not sure our cats would have been any use...

When we lived in Devon, a neighbour used to borrow a couple of sheep from a farmer each year to keep his lawn shorn!

That is so very funny. Same thing happened to us about 35 years ago. We live on the border of London/Kent, quite rural, and I’d just arrived home from work in the City, looked out of the patio windows to see a flock of sheep in the garden! They found their way home to the field, with little damage to our fence. 🐑🐑🐑
