I'm beginning to believe...

To watch someone's short term memory fade...personality change...is just unbelievably sad...A very clever man who has worked all over the world in the oil industry ...who can still,albeit takes longer..do sudoku...read the paper,watches and comments on the news...remembers the past...but cannot now remember something from minutes ago,sense of humour altered,..cant follow instructions....its very hard to watch and to live with in all honesty, constant repetitiveness is tiring...I've never really encountered this before...no memory problems in my family...Hs mother (estranged) had dementia....I'm now seeing the true cruelty of this disease...

Setting off shortly to the memory clinic and am a bag of nerves....

You are in my thoughts too, Farview, and don't forget there is always a GN around to offload or chat, or have a good moan. Many of us have been on the journey you are on.

Thank you ..all of you...H has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's....obviously I knew there was a problem...but it is a shock even so....Nurse coming next week with information etc and to sort lasting power of attorney out.
A lot to take in..

I’m so sorry. M-in-L had Alzheimer’s and was lucky to be giving medication which slowed down its progression. The Alzheimer’s Society have a really good site when you feel ready to read more info.
