Good Morning Everyone ,
A dark but dry and cold outside.
My weight as shot up again , especially with cold weather and having large course meals at the hotel in Scarborough , but will gradually bring that down with eating as normal .
Quiet day in today .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s not so frosty this morning so it must be warming up I’m very glad to say.

I went out yesterday but found it frustrating with parking and after two separate attempts to park in a supermarket car park I gave up and came home. I’d just filled the car with fuel so wasn’t going to waste it driving round and round and round.

I watched a Christmas film too and then did some tempura prawns to eat while Strictly was on. That was always a ritual we did and I’ve carried it on. I think it’ll be my last year though as I no longer enjoy Strictly like I did.

Have a good day all and take it steady as Mattie has proved it’s so easy to slip out there ❄️🎄🦩

Good morning everyone. Sun won't be up for another hour, so it's still grey outside. Apparently it's 3°, but windy - I'll take that over ice any day!
Sorry about your fall grandmattie but glad no bones are broken. Safe trip Shazza.
DD and NewMan decided to meet up in the Lake District yesterday and bagged another Wainwright - as you do. Just a gentle stroll I'm told. Me, I popped down into town with a small gift for a friend, had a quick cuppa, looked at the mobbed Tesco car park and came straight home again!
I loved the Strictly final last night - didn't think I could watch it for so long! What talent those people have and I was delighted for Hamza.
Today, more present wrapping - and I notice I need two more birthday cards. We have five close family birthdays during the Christmas holiday, dreadful planning!
Yesterday I did post but not til late afternoon. When I popped back in to read all the posts I found my own one still waiting for me to press 'send'! How daft can you get!.
Have a good day everyone, and be careful on the ice x

GrannySomerset Sun 18-Dec-22 08:31:55

Definitely less arctic this morning as the garden and field are green after several days of heavy frost which didn’t shift all day. Church this morning and then out to lunch with kind friends so a day with no need to cook.

My sympathy to all the trippers - it’s not only the damage involved but the insecurity which lasts and lasts. And now is definitely not the time to need A&E, or any other kind of medical support, so I am carefully considering my every activity which is boring but sensible.

Good Morning from Leicester, I’ve recently joined and navigating my way through these interesting topics. I’m not very technical, but hopefully will be able to make some posts myself.

Good morning all. A grey day here in Sefton. No sign of any white crunchy stuff at the moment but sleet forecast for later in the day.
Up at sparrow fart yesterday for an early morning breakfast rendezvous with Santa and DS2 & his little family. DGD2 (3) was mightily excited. We had a full breakfast brought to us by an elf. There was a present for each child, craft activities & a story & plenty of photo ops. Next year though, I think I might hold out for a lunch date instead. Rest of the day was spent recovering from the very early & cold start to the day.
Today's plan is to tackle changing the bed linen and the washing & ironing I didn't do yesterday. Living the life.
Hoping for a kind & peaceful Sunday for you all.

Good morning from a frozen Colchester. There was a lovely red sunrise and now it's very grey outside. I have just skated down to the outside bin and don't plan on venturing out again until it thaws.
DS is slowly recovering from his virus and my Mum is home from hospital and is much happier at home.
World cup on TV this afternoon followed by a roast beef dinner.
Love to all 🦩x

Good morning from a cold, but less icy Black Country, although snow is forecast1

I didn't go to DD's yesterday to sit with the girls whilst they went out for a meal. She has a bad cold/flu! Such a shame as today is her 44th birthday, at least she doesn't have school tomorrow. I took over her presents and cards and then Mum and I had lunch in the village pub. Hopefully she is feeling a little better today.

Will have a brunch today of full English, a very rare treat here.

No real plans today, except at 4pm a friends church is having a Carol concert, so I may go. It may get me in the Christmas Spirit. MrJ will probably be watching the World Cup Final.

Sorry you slipped on the ice GM sometimes it is your pride that is hurt more. Hope there is not too much damage. My friend did a similar thing about 6 years ago, and broke both wrists!

Sounds like a lovely day Ashcombe glad you enjoyed it.

Hoping Grandmabatty is feeling better, and anyone else who has been unwell .

Wishing you all a safe and warm day

Good morning froman icy NE, -2 and no sign of the snow melting yet. Good luck Shazza, it is freezing in Stanley DS has to pass through when he comes to my house.
Both my sister's and BIL came yesterday, my elder sister would not let anyone get a word in edgeways. Airline have not found her suitcase and she left another bag on the plane.
I gave her birthday gifts and a glass of Prosecco, she was talking, unwrapping and waving her arms around and twice knocked over her wine glass.
I was telling the family that GD had taken the bus to college by herself on Friday and how well she had managed, sister was sarcastic and said " got the bus and she is only 17 ". GD has a problem with processing information and needs guidance to process written information like bus routes and timetables and when she was at school she was given half an hour longer to read exam papers.
I was cross with my sister, if she shut up for five minutes and listened to other people she would know what was going on around her.
Today is my youngest child's 51st birthday😱
GD2 is enjoying her ski trip, saw some lovely photos on Twitter last night.
DD and SIL coming this afternoon, haven't a clue what we are going to have for dinner, might be a rummage through the freezer. DD is a vegetarian and her drawer in the freezer always looks more attractive.
Have a good day apparently it is going to be 13 degrees here tomorrow so thaw is on its way.

Jaxjacky Sun 18-Dec-22 09:00:16

Thanks, it may take me some time.😃

EkwaNimitee Sun 18-Dec-22 09:22:13

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey cloudy Carlisle where it's about 3C. There's been a sprinkle of snow during the night and my patio looks icily unsafe so I'm staying in.

I started watching an old war film last night but gave up after half an hour or so. The acting seems so 'hammy' now and this was supposed to be a good film in its day. I'm now binge watching 'Vienna Blood' instead.
Today I'm going to sort some clothes out and do a lot of dossing about reading. It's not going out for a walk weather.
No signs of my indigestion disappearing, no tucking into Christmas goodies for me yet.

Hello to you Caz, do stick around and tell us what you're up to.
And have a good day all.

grandMattie Sun 18-Dec-22 09:27:51

Just finished the two pyjama cases for DSiL’s nieces.

ginny Sun 18-Dec-22 09:33:58

Good morning everyone.
A lovely late evening at the neighbourhood party has resulted in me waking late this morning.
Plans for today are, some ironing, marzipan the Christmas cake, make some brandy butter , wrap some presents and hopefully do a bit of crafting.
Sorry to hear of falls and illness.
Take care and keep warm.

luluaugust Sun 18-Dec-22 09:36:57

Good morning all from W Kent where we still have a layer of snow which makes me very wary of going out. gM so sorry you had a fall, it is what I fear and it keeps me in, love the pyjama cases. DD2 and two large GC did pop in yesterday and it was lovely to see them and catch up a little. DD is doing Christmas lunch for us all, I have been delegated the cranberry and orange sauce and the bread sauce to make.
Hope all travel and meet up arrangements go well and everyone manages to stay upright.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 18-Dec-22 09:40:01

Good morning all from icy Harrogate- yes I shall have to be very careful going to church, being a regular tripper upper!
Hope you knee improves quickly GrandMattie it’s no fun kissing the ground!
Take care Ash, Glad you enjoyed your lunch with friend.
Had a lovely coffee in church yesterday even DH enjoyed the company. They were raising money for children who care. I took two books to the bookstall and they were sold straight away! A Jeffrey Archer and a Kristin Hannah. I’m now on to short stories until I find the sequel to the Jeffrey Archer.
Have the best day possible folks

NannyJan53 Sun 18-Dec-22 09:41:34

Welcome Caz look forward to seeing you post x

ShazzaKanazza Sun 18-Dec-22 09:44:00

Hi again just on our way. On the A1. I hear there is still snow up there. Wish I’d put my grippy boots on instead I’ve gone for fashion🤦

Sorry to hear about slipping on the ice. My hubby fell last week as his heel caught some ice. A young girl was on her phone and he heard her say an old guy has fallen and she came to pick him up. He’s only 57. He felt so embarrassed as you do.

Welcome Caz👋 Hope you join us regularly.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 18-Dec-22 09:51:03

Good morning Mick from a -1 degree, frosty but now with rain or sleet falling, whatever it is it’s cold and I’m staying in, the dog has returned home but I keep my fingers crossed that MissOops doesn’t fall on her new knee. Nephew is to unwell to help out , his CT scan is now scheduled for March! Poor chap.
Bed changing and moving around today ready for MzOops and her family plus a boyfriend to arrive on Tuesday, Monday will be spent baking so it all has to be done today. I need to borrow a couple of chairs from MissOops house as well, just remembered that.
Up until 3 am trying to recover a programme that MrOops uninstalled forgetting that he couldn’t remember his email password. Sadly the security hasn’t let us in yet despite filling in the form twice, apparently he isn’t who he says he is…….
Last day of my Antibiotics let’s hope they soon start to work as it’s getting tedious and tiring.
Love the pyjama cases GM you are so quick and neat.

Have a good day everyone who is nursing bumps, bruises, colds and Covid.
Hugs for those who aren’t so chipper.🎄🎄

Stilllearning Sun 18-Dec-22 09:56:47

Good morning from just outside Oban, where I’ve been in residence since Thursday, looking after two DGC. They are 11 and 14 and are great company when not sleeping!

DD and SIL are away till tomorrow, celebrating her 50th birthday. They had a horrendous journey on Friday, (it took 8 hours to do a journey which normally takes two and a half hours.) Eventually they formed a convoy of three cars which all had snow chains and got through. So many former navy friends had travelled to Edinburgh to join them, they really felt they couldn’t turn back.

Shazza, that ‘Bye’ must have been musi to your ears, I was so happy when I read it.

I have managed to read but not post so I know that GrandmaBatty and *Ekwa are not very well and hope things have improved.

Weather has been horrible here but I’m going to put on the grippers on my boots and walk to lovely Connel Bridge for some fresh air today. Reluctant GC will accompany me!

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday 🦩🦩🦩

monk08 Sun 18-Dec-22 09:57:49

A late good morning from the Black country haven't read through yet but did see you've had a fall grandMattie hope there's not to much damage to the knee, and those pyjama cases are lovely especially the cat one.
Welcome Caz👋 and any other newbies.
Presents all laid out in piles in spare bedroom so that looks like today's job as it's just started snowing here so I won't be venturing out.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Sunday and may you all find some 🌞.

A later good morning from a very frosty Northampton, 0°here this morning. I looked out and everything is white, so I have decided not to go to rugby this afternoon; just think it's far too cold to sit in this freezing weather for a couple of hours. It is on tv, so I can stay in the warm and watch it.

Spent all of yesterday indooes. Changed the bedding for my new Christmas duvet cover, did two loads of washing, and wrapped the Christmas presents for the DGDs and for my friend. Had to make sure the cats were safely out of the way as they would have had fun with the wrapping paper and sellotape!

Wishing everyone the warmest of Sundays. Safe journeys to anyone travelling, take care.
