Good Morning Everyone ,
A dark but dry and cold outside.
My weight as shot up again , especially with cold weather and having large course meals at the hotel in Scarborough , but will gradually bring that down with eating as normal .
Quiet day in today .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dark and cloudy West Sussex coast.

I am horribly unready for drive to Scotland tomorrow. We decided to try to do the journey in one day so an early start. We won’t be back until after New Year so have to clear fridge of bits and pieces, which I have tried to do earlier in the week but there’s still have a pot of yogurt, a portion of baked beans and a jar with a small amount of pesto which may walk out by itself #badhousekeeping.

We are off to DD1’s for ‘Christmas lunch’ and football. Looking forward to seeing GD1, back from first term at university. I hope she can stay awake as she had two coach journeys yesterday - Manchester to London and London to south coast.

The ice is thawing, even in the north, I think, so I hope for no more slips and falls and safe journeys for all who are making them over the holiday.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy and breezy in this corner of Lancashire, currently 3°C.

A quiet day here, bacon rolls for brunch, Sunday papers, Radio 4, snooze in recliner with a blanket and a little sewing. We have turned into our parents and I love it grin. Only 2 days until the sunset starts getting a little later each day.

Glad you’re not hurt Grandmattie, we’ve had a partial thaw here but there are still some pockets of ice. You sound much more upbeat now, those pyjama cases are really lovely.

Safe journey Shazza, it’s a lovely part of the country but the weather can be really wild.

Enjoy the family lunch Urms, we had very little rain here yesterday despite some ominous looking clouds over the Pennines. It must have dropped all the water on Manchester before heading this way!

Be careful all if you have to go out, quite a few slipping on ice.

Happy Sunday, may all those with sickness and worries find some relief.

Good morning everyone, it’s a drizzly morning now here in Wiltshire, although it was -3° at 6am.
I have done the ironing, made the bed, vacuumed the living room and tidied it and the kitchen. Lunch is prepped and the shoulder of lamb is in the oven. I think I deserve a coffee and catch up on here!
DH is walking DDog, so hopefully a quiet afternoon as both will end up snoozing 😊
I’m trying to finish a pair of sparkly socks requested by DGS1, , if I knit quickly will I manage not to run out of yarn before I get them done? I’ve weighed the ball of yarn and it’s going to be precariously close either way! I have ordered another skein but it’s not going to arrive anytime soon unfortunately.
Stay safe everyone, at least it’s getting warmer!

Safe travels tomorrow litterpicker and everyone else on the move soon, enjoy your time away. Hopefully the slightly warmer weather will make things a bit easier travel wise 🤞

Good morning Mick and all from wintry northwest Lancashire coast. Sorry you had a fall grandMattie and hope it’s not painful. You obviously ate well Mick!
We travelled in separate cars to the opera in Manchester yesterday and although it was well done, I didn’t particularly enjoy it, modern dress and I was sitting at the back. Booking for myself, I always sit right at the front. I didn’t know my friends wife on the return journey on the back seat and she was hard work. Sometimes I think our mood affects how we enjoy a production.
In today, will write more cards to be hand delivered and try to work out which big river parcels are my orders and which are gifts from my sister…
Thoughts to all with worries 🌲❄️⛸

Good morning all from Glasgow where it feels a touch milder with a light frost, a very snowy sky doesn’t bode well though.

A quick outing for some essentials was a nightmare yesterday as every surface is like an ice rink, I was forced to take small baby steps testing underfoot with each step in car parks along with other shoppers….no sign of gritting anywhere!

DD1 did her last bit of C shopping locally and dropped in for coffee yesterday. Her partner was treating her to a meal at their favourite restaurant in the evening. She decided to have a shower here and was very pleased with the result when I blew dry her hair with my Fat Hair dryer. Another string to my bow?
Whenever I have a raw throat due to persistent coughing Grandmabatty, I do a salt gargle a few times throughout the day which soothes it immediately.
A warm welcome to you Caz

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Morning everyone,

a rather grey and very cold day today. Very icy underfoot, had to walk very carefully down the path into church this morning.

Glad you enjoyed your few days away, Mick. I wouldn’t worry too much about the over indulgence - that’s par for the course at this time of year.

Hope you don’t stiffen up after your fall, grandMattie - it does shake you up, doesn’t it? Hope you’re ok too, Marydoll.

Hello, Caz.

Well, I’m off to do a few house hold chores. Best wishes to you all.

So after the sunrise - rain, dark by 3.30 - roll on Spring! - Lovely junior church 6 minute nativity (like a mime to music - Sarah Watts).
