(73 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside here in brackley .
Today I will do a small local shop to see how I feel before pursuing the bus to Bicester .
my sister and brother in law are visiting to to do gift exchange from Salop later .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a dull and cloudy Essex by the sea.
No real plans today apart from starting to think about what to pack for our Christmas away. We leave on Christmas Eve and will be home on the 28th.
Thinking of all those who have sadness or worries in their lives.
Have the best Wednesday you can, much love xxx
Good morning from a dry but windy NE, been a noisy night.
DD and SIl are coming to take me for my weekly shop but SIL'S brother was admitted to hospital with an asthma attack yesterday. They both have it and their mother died during an attack when SIL was eighteen.
We have a family dinner tonight at our favourite restaurant tonight except for GD2 who is still in Italy.
Have a good day.
Hi again.
Happy anniversary dragonfly 🥂
Baubles keeping everything crossed for your DGD feeling better soon 💐
Gingster what a glorious view.
My son and his wife have been for their 16 week scan they seem to have them monthly in China. They would love to know what they are having but it’s against the law to find out. But all is very well.
Good morning from a much milder, blue skied Black Country, where it obviously rained overnight.
Meeting my friend today, and we are going for a Festive meal for lunch. This is my present to her for her birthday in November. She only arrived from Lapland late last night, where she went with 2 DGS's and family to see Santa. The pub is only a 25 mins walk, so may indulge in a Baileys!
DD is starting to feel a smidgen better, but she said she went for a short walk, and felt a little faint yesterday. This flu bug seems to be affecting many people at the moment.
Hello NanKate! Wishing you a lovely time at Christmas with your family.
Happy BirthdayBluebalou
Wishing you all a good day
Happy Birthday Blue
Good morning all from the Black country.
Well we paid off next years holiday yesterday so I can start counting down 103 days. Also taxed the car so one very expensive day.
Delivering presents to friends today and hoping to catch up with our ex neighbour.
Lovely to read everyone's happenings and meet ups with family.
Happy birthday BlueBalou 🎂🍾 and best wishes for anyone else celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Wednesday and may you all find some 🌞.
Good morning all from a mild ish Suffolk coast. Lovely sunrise and it’s so good to be back by the sea. And breathe! Ahhhh!
The cottage is nice and cosy with our new heating system and the plastering has been done in one room. Dust everywhere and windows splattered but we’ve cleaned some of it and will continue today.
Lots of busyness going on today for everyone it seems. Hope all goes well for trips away, appointments and GC minding.
I can never remember who is doing what so please take care and enjoy the day (short as it is).
🎄🎅⛪️🌲
Good morning from Shropshire.
Another day without having to set the alarm🥳We will plough on with the to do list today. Our neighbours have invited themselves round this evening for drinks and nibbles🤷♀️🤣
Sad news for your friends cornergran.I feel so sorry for them and somehow it seems worse at this time of year.
Urms, my daughter, also a teacher is unwell too.My mum was a teacher and she was always ill at Christmas. It’s as though they keep going all term and then when they finally break up all the bugs catch up with them.Let’s hope they are both better for Christmas🤞🏻
Good news Ash and baubles I am glad your DGD is no worse.I hope the antibiotics kick in today🤞🏻
Happy birthday Blue🥳
Have the best day you can everyone🎄🎅🏼
Good morning from Leicestershire.
Today is our 54th Wedding Anniversary and I have a routine mammogram at a hospital on the other side of town.
I had another stressful day yesterday as our car wouldn’t start. Fortunately it was at home so the 4 hour wait for the AA wasn’t too bad. We are taking it to the garage today as it is under a year old!
I will now go back and read your posts although I did see Mattie arrived safely.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I suppose I had better get up soon. It is the U3A Christmas lunch today. We are meeting at one of our favourite restaurants and there should be about 20 of us. I may decorate the Christmas cake when we get back. I only put the marzipan on Monday but it would have dried out a bit. I have got my usual decorations out and I always do a bit of piping. Younger son is arriving tomorrow evening so I need to sort his room out. Daughter will get here on Friday morning so I’ll sort her room out too. Elder son and his family will arrive on Christmas Day morning. I posted the Christmas lunch menu on the family WhatsApp group and it passed! Have a wonderful day everyone.
Yes Wyllow we were happy 12y ago to purchase this new build apartment right in the town centre. It’s only small & wouldn’t suit a lot of folk but I was happy to swap space for location.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Wet here and barely light.
Happy Solstice everyone but especially BlueBalou
Having grown up in NZ I still wonder why we in Britain travel distances at the darkest, coldest time of the year to be with family.
My DSis is proposing to drive up to stay with me.
So glad you have had good news Ash
That hotel looks amazing GG
Marydoll sending hugs to you.
DMiL will be coming to the community lunch today where everyone marvels at her.
Have a good day everyone.
What fantastic pre-Christmas service from your plumber Grandmabatty! And grandMattie no masks worn ha!
😱
Gamache not Ganache! duh...
Morning from a mixed sky in S Yorks. The lovely things abut the solstice is that from tomorrow, every day is getting a bit lighter. I can understand the "bonfire on the hill" celebrations of long ago.
Urmstongran I love that there is so much for you to see and cafes to go to, it wouldn't quite suit me but has been one of the inspirations to make 2023 the year I move more into town from the "burbs" to where there is a bit more life around.
Happy birthday Bluebalou
Today the car is being serviced but oh so different from the old slog of dropping off and collecting as they collect, deliver and valet. If they come early then they will have to put up with a dressing gown.
On the online recommendation of another I have just ordered a box set of Louise Penny's first 5 Inspector Ganache books as I like a light crime read rather than waiting for the library to get them all in the right order. fingers crossed I like them since I've shelled out
A well deserved break GM and please take care poorlies today. I really should use the car free time for a little bit of fresh air - walk in woods opposite me.
Morning all
I am currently snuggled in a huge bed in our favourite room in Morston Hall. (Yes Urmstongran it is rather swish) The food last evening was exceptional as always. I surprised myself by finishing everything (seven course taster menu, along with three little amuse bouche)
Pleased you are safely at your DD’s grandMattie , good news Ashcombe , good luck with your tests and Meds chasing MaryDoll
We will hopefully be home late afternoon rested and ready for Christmas Chaos 🤣🤣
Happy Birthday BlueBalou
Fingers crossed SueD
Have a good day folks 🤶🏻🎄🎁🙋♀️
Good morning Mick from a wet Oxfordshire, hope you have a good today exchanging presents.
Happy Birthday Blubalou
GM enjoy your break, you deserve it.
Ash good news indeed.
We are now 9! The household has increased and I’ve had to borrow 2 chairs….
Santa has been early, breakfast and dinner is prepped, just waiting for everyone to get up.
Nephew has thrown his usual wobbly, I know he can’t help it but sometimes I just want to tell him to stay away if we are all that awful. I think we need to have a family discussion in the New Year as MissOops is being worn down by his behaviour and has her own Mental Health to look after, again I know he can’t help it and I really don’t know how we will deal with it any differently than at present.
Anyway, let’s hope we can all have a good day in-spite of it all.
Enjoy your travels and family meet ups everyone.
Hugs for those who are under the weather.
Happy birthday Blue. 🎈🎊 🎈
Good morning all.
Two DGSs coming for an hour or so whilst their Mummy goes to an exercise class this morning.
Then off to Milton Keynes for a few last things. After which I am meeting DD1 to attend a charity event for the hospice she works for. More gift wrapping this evening.
Happy Birthday bluebalu.
Safe travels and happy meet ups to those on the move. Thoughts with all who are struggling with ill health or other problems.
Good morning all from mild, damp South Lanarkshire.
Thank you for your kind wishes for my DGD. Thankfully she is no worse than she was on Monday but no better either. We are hoping for an improvement today when the antibiotics should kick in properly.
This is my last working day until the 9th of January, I’m quite looking forward to the break.
I’ve still got a fair amount of wrapping to do so that’ll be this evening’s task. I’m usually much more organised than this.
Happy birthday Bluebalou
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning from Newcastle - still dark. SiL has just left to get little doggy to the kennels. DD2 is up but no sound from DGS2 yet. I’m dressed and ready to go, we have to be at the airport for 10am - 2 round trips for kind FiL - so much luggage with pushchair, wheelchair, car seat and cases!
Sorry to read SuDonim’s news yesterday. I do hope chemo is effective.
A long day ahead for us, so I’ll say Best Wishes to All. X
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and damp. BlueBalou a very happy birthday to you. Ash good news for you too. A step towards life being completely normal. Marydoll I hope you track down the meds.
Yesterday I made it shopping and then called in at dd with my remaining tests as sil wasn't well. Yup, he has covid too. He probably caught it from me and I will never hear the end of it.
Today I'll take dgs1 to nursery and pick him up again as dd has to go to the office. I've a few things to do in town so I'll head there after the nursery drop off. The plumber came last night to tell me I need a new shower so he'll fit it on Friday for me. Cottage pie for dinner. Have a good day all.
Good morning from a dark Colchester. Another mild, damp day forecast.
Usual Wednesday coffee meetup in the city centre this morning. Spag bol for tea.
A burst water main caused a big drop in water pressure on our estate yesterday so I hope it's fixed now so I can shower.
Happy Birthday BlueBalou...a winter solstice baby.
Love to all 🦩 x
