Good Morning Wednesday 21st December 2022
(72 Posts)Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull I think we have rain and sun today.
Enjoy your visit from your family Mick.
Today we have DGS again for the day. We are popping him over to friends as she has a big fish tank for him to look at. You can spend a couple of hours with him while he watches every fish in Pets at Home. DS will have tea with us when he picks him up I think I’ll do a Hunters Chicken.
Enjoy your day everyone I’ll enjoy reading about your pre Christmas fun. Virtual hugs to those suffering illness and stress.🌻🎄
Good morning from Bristol. It’s midwinter day. The sun rises some 20 minutes later here that in E Kent!
I had an easy, uneventful journey and was met by DD At the station.
The girls have made huge plans for me, a big whiteboard worth😂.
We went to a candlelit contemplative Carol service at St. Johnson the Wall. It’s a very beautiful church, but very cold indeed inside as it isn’t used regularly, perhaps twice a year. The service was lovely, but full of carols that DH loved (but I can’t stand…) so rather mixed emotions. Bless her, DGD1 seemed to sense when I was in tears and hugged me. So very sensitive and kind.
Today, we’re making our now traditional gingerbread house (I brought th3 template with me) and various other things. I won’t get a chance to be bored!
Wishing everyone well, and hoping they hav3 a good day. Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Morning Mick and those following, enjoy your family meet-up. Dark and dry here in S Hampshire, I’m off to the farm shop soon. MrJ wrapped gifts yesterday, I’ve some to label and ‘prettify’ quick hoover and dust later.
We had an enjoyable evening at our local last night, the Christmas draw, we did well and it was a fun time with friends.
May those poorly have improved and safe journey to those travelling.
🦩🦩
Good morning from wet and windy Sefton.
Time in the gym, DGC, the weekly supermarket delivery and visitors will keep busy today. We’re still waiting on Santa’s elves to produce some items…
🤦♀️ 🤞
normally we’d have arrived at the finish line by this point!
Whatever your plans, enjoy your day everyone.
Good morning all from a dark and chilly North Leicestershire.
A Sainsbury's collection, final wrapping up and I have a really sore throat. We had our much delayed flu jabs yesterday and did a few errands.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from a dry and still Torbay.
It’s good to read of pre-Christmas family gatherings and I’m glad you’re safely with your family, grandMattie; it’s no surprise that your DGD1 is sensitive and kind.
Yesterday, on arrival at the cardiology clinic, we were told that my surgeon has Covid (the lengths some people will go to in order to avoid seeing me!!) but wasn't seriously ill. His Registrar saw his patients and she was pleased with my progress, especially the healing of the breast bone and the ECG. I'm now allowed to travel abroad and restart my "Move It Or Lose It" class, which is excellent news. As always at Torbay Hospital, every member of staff was courteous and helpful.
Today, I plan to put the finishing touches to the decorations whilst awaiting a return call from the practice pharmacy, assuming I manage to get through at 8.30 a.m. as I need to discuss changes to my medication.
Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩🎄⛄️🎅🏼🦩
Good morning Mick and All.
Dark and damp here in South Bucks.
Off to do final shop before starting to pack for our journey down to the Brighton area tomorrow to be with the family for Christmas. The noise level of being with 3 boys and their parents in their lovely ‘blended’ family is pretty high. No wonder we slip out occasionally for a quiet walk.
Hope you have got some lemon, honey and warm water to hand Kitty. It got me through my recent bout of covid.
Good morning everyone.
I’m 21 again today (multiplied several times 🙄😄) , I’ve always felt cheated being born on the shortest day!
Off for a muddy dog walk shortly, DDog needs a good run. Yesterday the dog walker took her out with another Romanian rescue and they had a great time.
Hope you all have a lovely day x
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks damp although sunshine forecast later
Excellent day yesterday. We ventured to Avebury. The Manor has been decorated by a team of volunteers. 5000 hours of work, all decorations hand made from recycled materials telling the story of the nutcracker. A place we love, used to live close by, although a treck from here
Some sad news from from our friends. They have been told homecare cannot be supported. Having two carers twice a day is apparently depriving others of support. What a thing to be told. I’m horrified. As self funding is not an option a care home will be allocated. There is as you can understand much distress, especially at this time of year.
It’s concentration on routine day here. Mr C wants to rediscover the colour of the car, currently a delightful shade of mud. I’ll press on with dust removal and we’ll debate who does the ironing.
Hope the sore throat disappears kitty. You don’t need that. Enjoy your family time grandmattie, mick everyone else involved with family today.
My love to those struggling with worries, hope Wednesday is kind to us all.
Good morning all from a wet and windy Glasgow.
Glad to hear your hospital visit was successful Ash and you arrived safely GM.
Mick, I hope you have a successful family visit.
I am off to get my monthly bloods done and chase up more elusive medication, it never ends.
My Covid tests are negative, but I feel grim, mainly my angina with a temp. Masks are compulsory in our surgery, or I would have postponed the test, for fear of passing on whatever lurgy I have.
I am praying for more positive news from Baubles, concerning her granddaughter.
So many exciting plans, enjoy yourselves folks!
Happy birthday bluebalou 🎈🎂
Happy Birthday BlueBalou 🎂🎉🥂
Happy Birthday BlueBalou, enjoy your day! 🎂🎉🥂
Here’s Matt.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s still dark. Looks damp out but no frost. There’s a slice of bright yellow new moon in the sky over the Pennines, probably so yellow because that’s where the sun will be coming up. Get me - Mrs Astrologer! There’s a plane coming into land over yonder oo - it’s all happening this morning. The aeroplane red lights are blinking and winking as it makes its descent into Manchester airport, ten miles away. I like to see the planes taking off or coming in, without being on a flight path! Oh, now the train has just pulled in at Platform 2 heading to Liverpool Line Street. There were half a dozen well-wrapped commuters waiting for it. There’s always someone out and about at this hour in a town centre!
Well, apart from Himself. He’s still snoozing. Gathering energy I expect as we are minding the grandchildren today. Their mum is feeling really rotten, aching all over with a virus. It’s not Covid. We are going over mid morning and taking them out for lunch. Means mum has a quiet house to go back to bed, poor thing. The children have requested we go upstairs on a double decker bus. They find a bus ride a treat as no-one else can be bothered to take them on one! Grandparent kudos.
Glad to hear you’ve arrived in Bristol safely grandMattie. Seems there’s no rest for the wicked though! Wonderful news from your cardiologist Ash you’ve got your freedom back, well done you. ‘France here we come’ in the NY I bet! Enjoy time seeing your family too Mick they will be pleased to see you in better health I expect.
I love the fact that it’s the winter solstice. Even psychologically it feels good to be turning a corner towards the longer daylight days. Hope GG13 and her husband enjoyed their posh dinner last night. I sneaked a look on line yesterday. Wowzer!
😁
Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s still dark.
I have GS snuggling up with me in
bed. Lovely. We are awaiting DH bringing us tea and milk up.
When DH comes back from the gym we are going to a nearby garden centre where there is a nice play area. I gave GS 2 choices of activities and that’s the one he went for. After we will find somewhere for a festive lunch before dropping him home.
Happy Birthday bluebalou 💐🎂
Enjoy time with your GS shazza
Drinks have arrived!
Have a good day everyone.
Have a very happy birthday BlueBalou🎉
X posts - many happy returns of the day BlueBalou!
I forgot to mention a hilarious thing at the carols. It was so cold in the church that our breath was steaming. Imagine the collective puffs of steam when everyone joined in for a joyous “Glo ooooo ooooo ria”. I found it hard not to giggle 🤭
Happy birthday Blue
Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s just getting light and seems quite mild
My journey yesterday was fine, the flight to Luton was on time with just a short delay with the onward travel to Cambridge. It was so lovely to see two happy DGSs again. Last night after we’d eaten we all went out to see the Christmas lights at Audley End, the house and gardens were beautifully lit up and we enjoyed a mulled wine and the boys had toasted marshmallows - a lovely evening all round
Later today DD1 and SiL are going into London so I’ll be looking after the DGSs - I think we’ll be watching a Christmas film and snuggling up on the sofa
Happy Birthday Bluebalou enjoy your very special day 🎂🥂💐
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a dark Colchester. Another mild, damp day forecast.
Usual Wednesday coffee meetup in the city centre this morning. Spag bol for tea.
A burst water main caused a big drop in water pressure on our estate yesterday so I hope it's fixed now so I can shower.
Happy Birthday BlueBalou...a winter solstice baby.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and damp. BlueBalou a very happy birthday to you. Ash good news for you too. A step towards life being completely normal. Marydoll I hope you track down the meds.
Yesterday I made it shopping and then called in at dd with my remaining tests as sil wasn't well. Yup, he has covid too. He probably caught it from me and I will never hear the end of it.
Today I'll take dgs1 to nursery and pick him up again as dd has to go to the office. I've a few things to do in town so I'll head there after the nursery drop off. The plumber came last night to tell me I need a new shower so he'll fit it on Friday for me. Cottage pie for dinner. Have a good day all.
Good morning from Newcastle - still dark. SiL has just left to get little doggy to the kennels. DD2 is up but no sound from DGS2 yet. I’m dressed and ready to go, we have to be at the airport for 10am - 2 round trips for kind FiL - so much luggage with pushchair, wheelchair, car seat and cases!
Sorry to read SuDonim’s news yesterday. I do hope chemo is effective.
A long day ahead for us, so I’ll say Best Wishes to All. X
