Positive New Year's goals

Now that the celebrations are over, do you have any positive goals for this year; I'm thinking small achievable goals.

I'm starting a yoga on-line challenge with classes daily for 2 weeks. I'm not saying I will log on every day, but hope to get in as many as possible.

Closet purge, but in small increments... no huge cleanout which I find overwhelming.

Buy flowers for myself more often, since they bring such joy.

And you?

To loose around 3.5 stone at the Gym and feel better in myself and be happy in life...

HotFootSue... that's a big goal, why don't you set a smaller goal for 5 lbs in January? Setting too big of a goal will set you up for disappointment. Smaller goals are more achievable.

I’ve just added spinal problems to my litany of defect so my main goal is to incorporate the exercises I need to do into my daily routine and not forget to do them.

Like you Canadiangran I’m going to do a gradual wardrobe clear out, and replacement.

Goal 3 is to try books in genres I don’t usually read and watch TV programmes that I usually ignore.

I don’t need to lose weight, but I need to get fitter. I’ve been unwell this year (well, last year!), so need to build up some strength. A walk a day and going to follow a you tube exercise routine.

Hi all,
Some of the things that I want to achieve this year are.
Not to buy any clothes as I have enough to last a lifetime, same with shoes and bags.
Make sure I do a crossword or puzzle each day.
Take up the challenge on here to read 50 books this year.
Get more exercise whatever the weather, enjoying local places of interest and beauty.
Join an aqua aerobic class.
Just hoping I can fit it all in but l am certainly going to try.

New Year's Resolutions by another name. grin

Agree Monica, but somehow not as imposing by using a more positive noun!

Teabagwoman, changing genres in reading is a good goal. I know we tend to know what we like, but I have read some very good books if we push our boundaries a little.

For some reason, true-life adventures tend to appeal to me once in a while. I just finished a book about mountain climbing in the Yukon... Escape from Luciana by David Roberts. You may also want to look at Never let me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, a strange dystopian tale, but well written. Outside of my usual genre for sure!

CallmeEsme.. a few years ago I picked up a local map of our town, and made a goal of walking every street (we have a fairly small town). I did achieve it in a month, doing a 30 min walk a day. I did drive to different neighbourhoods to start the walks, but I covered different ground every day and discovered some hidden paths and alleys that I didn't know existed.

To read as many books as I can.
To join Audible. (And listen to as many more books as possible).
To sort my yarn and fabric stash. (While listening to audiobooks).
To be grateful.

There’s another thread started by Maw on this.

Thanks CanadianGran I will drive to a different area for my walks. I live in the South West in a big city so I doubt I’d have enough time left to streets. lol x
