Agree Monica, but somehow not as imposing by using a more positive noun!
Teabagwoman, changing genres in reading is a good goal. I know we tend to know what we like, but I have read some very good books if we push our boundaries a little.
For some reason, true-life adventures tend to appeal to me once in a while. I just finished a book about mountain climbing in the Yukon... Escape from Luciana by David Roberts. You may also want to look at Never let me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, a strange dystopian tale, but well written. Outside of my usual genre for sure!
CallmeEsme.. a few years ago I picked up a local map of our town, and made a goal of walking every street (we have a fairly small town). I did achieve it in a month, doing a 30 min walk a day. I did drive to different neighbourhoods to start the walks, but I covered different ground every day and discovered some hidden paths and alleys that I didn't know existed.
