Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday went to Bicester , and my usual bakery cafe was closed , so I have decided to give Bicester a miss until next week , as we seem to be in holiday type period with nothing in full swing.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a mild but cloudy Black Country.

Thursday morning health walk, then this afternoon popping over to Merry Hill to see if there is anything interesting in the sales. Need some warm clothes for a trip to Budapest in less than 2 weeks!

Happy Birthday Kitty hope you have a lovely day flowers

Happy birthday Kitty 🎂💐

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a frosty start but forecast to be as high as 9º today but with rain.
A very Happy Birthday kitty enjoy your special day and hope the volunteering goes well 💐🥂🎂
Yesterday was the mildest temperatures we’ve had for ages and we enjoyed taking the DGC out for the day
Today I’m planning to finish putting away all the Christmas decorations and cleaning as I go along. I’ll put some music on and it’ll be a bit of a workout too - save me going to the gym
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Madeira and there is a colourful sunrise through the palm trees this morning.
We had a lovely trip out to the Nuns Valley yesterday. The taxi driver was very informative and he stopped at a couple of viewpoints on the way. The views are spectacular., We went down then into the valley to the village and enjoyed hot peeled salted chestnuts and chestnut liqueur which tastes very nutty and sweet.

Today we are all going up on the cable car to Monte gardens and a few back down in the toboggan baskets. My sister breaks too easily so her husband has said no to that so I will accompany her back down on the cable car. It’s wonderful having my sister here we are very close. She lives in Canterbury so we don’t see each other that often. We were regaling our other guests of funny parts of our childhood. My sister is so funny and I’m constantly crying with laughing with her.

Susan it took a full week over Christmas for my son to be negative from Covid. I was surprised at how poorly he was and a week parted from his wife so she didn’t get it. Trouble is everyone they know has it so I think it’s going to be hard to avoid.

Have a lovely day everyone and thoughts to those struggling with stress illness and worries. 🌻🌻 I have tried to put on photos but they just won’t send for some reason. X

Good morning everyone from a still dark Northampton, looking dry outside. Am awaiting a Sainsbury's delivery later this morning, so need to get myself organised by then.

Didn't do a lot yesterday apart from a walk to the local shops to spend a Christmas voucher (due to expire on Saturday). I got a decent bottle of wine and a rather nice Beef Stroganoff from the 'Cook' range, which the local supermarket has just started stocking. Shall probably have it at the weekend.

Thinking of a bus trip to the shops this afternoon instead of tomorrow; coffee and a bun in the M&S Cafe beckon, and Sainsbury's have a sale of bedding which I am keen to look at. Smoked haddock and new potatoes for dinner tonight, nice and easy.

That Spanish bake looks delicious grandMattie!

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Am keeping out of DD and DSiL’s way as they prepare to set off for Liverpool after a long but satisfactory day yesterday. My old friend’s humanist funeral was beautiful and pleased DD and the close relatives involved in making it happen, and the lunch which followed was surprisingly enjoyable. Now I have to look forward rather than back as it is almost a year to the day since DH’s death and I have spent too much time in the past.

Looks dry - hurrah! - so may do a little outside tidying since yesterday’s wind has created plenty to sweep up.

Happy Birthday kitty 🎂. So pleased to hear how well you are recovering. Hopefully you will still have enough energy to enjoy a lunch treat. 🤞

Ashcombe Thu 05-Jan-23 08:19:35

Happy birthday, kittylester and it’s great to hear of your return to volunteering and for such a worthwhile cause. Enjoy the reward of lunch! 💐

Marydoll Thu 05-Jan-23 08:21:41

Happy birthday to the birthday ladies!

karmalady Thu 05-Jan-23 08:22:24

Good morning s somerset is dull and damp so far and the somerset levels are doing their job of holding flood water. I am glad we never bought down in the levels, I would hate all that worry

Knitting again today and I have become addicted to the little house on the prairie, there are an endless number of programmes. I am skipping some as I want to reach the end before my prime contract ends as I am not renewing

I think I will make minestrone soup today minus the pasta

Have a peaceful nice day

Good morning and happy birthday Kitty and J52.

Yesterdays lunch was delicious in our local Turkish restaurant. We all enjoyed what we’d chosen and will certainly go back again soon. Little DGD said her chips and ice cream were the best she’d ever tasted! 😂.

Today I have bowls club and I’m hoping Dh will come along again. He’d rather not but he needs to get out more and he’s a good player. That’s part of the problem as he’s very competitive and doesn’t ‘suffer fools gladly’ . Oh dear! 😢.

It looks a nice day out there - mild, still and dry.
Hope your days are good ones 🤞

Alygran Thu 05-Jan-23 08:25:57

Good morning from North Yorkshire. There’s a beautiful sunrise this morning.
Happy birthday Kitty andJ52
Waiting for a call from the GP about my dermatology appointment. It’s not till June and I would like to see someone sooner.
Spent most of yesterday doing accounts and spreadsheets. Just about all sorted so I’ll finish it this morning. If it stays fair I’ll go for a walk later.
Have a good day everyone.

Wyllow3 Thu 05-Jan-23 08:30:19

Good Morning from an overcast but mild S Yorks.

Probably just the gym: its the only day this week no house calls as Sky tomorrow so nice not to have to get everything ready another morning.

Yesterday the decorators finished midday and all downstairs is spick and span. It is time to look forward GrannySomerset tho will be hard for you

In my case my divorce from abusive husband nearly through but am doing counselling it was yesterday but is helpful

Happy birthday kittylester and J52

That cake ring looks delicious, Grandmattie good about house sale.

Good morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Got all the Christmas stuff packed away yesterday, I wasn’t even sad to see it go, what’s happened to me?

We’re off to Edinburgh today, back to nursery and school pickups.

It occurred to me that I haven’t been out since a quick supermarket visit last Friday which isn’t great. I think we are both feeling a good bit better this morning, this lurgy has been awful.

Love your bake Mattie.

Happy birthday Kitty, have a lovely day.

Glad the.funeral went well GrannyS. flowers

Have the best day possible everyone.

cornergran Thu 05-Jan-23 08:34:31

Happy birthday j52, apologies for missing you earlier.

Stilllearning Thu 05-Jan-23 08:35:19

Morning from S Lanarkshire, a hasty one today with a few things that need attended to.

Happy Birthday kittylester I hope you have an enjoyable day.

GrannySomerset, I’m glad yesterday went well, not having one’s closest friend anymore is a huge loss.

Thinking about you too Marydoll, hope things pick up for you.

Among other things today I want to purchase a door curtain and all the necessary gubbins. Then call on a DF who is struggling.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day 🦩🦩🦩

Greyduster Thu 05-Jan-23 08:45:19

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Wyllow is spot on with our South Yorkshire weather. It’s certainly calmer than yesterday. Yesterday I did my usual half mile walk, took one crutch and only had to use it once to negotiate a patch of sludgy leaves. This morning I feel as if I have been run over by a bus! Still, no pain, no gain hopefully. DD is coming over this morning to take me food shopping and hopefully set my new microwave up - if she can lift it. If not it will have to wait until DS comes down on Saturday.
A Very Happy Birthday to you, Kitty, and anyone else with a birthday today🎂🍾💐
Have the best day you can, folks.

Susan56 Thu 05-Jan-23 08:45:26

Happy birthday kitty and J52 and hope the volunteering goes well and you feel well enough to go out for lunch kitty.

Shazza, I’m glad your son has now tested positive and 🤞🏻your DIL doesn’t get it.

Greyduster Thu 05-Jan-23 08:46:34

Super photo, Alygran!

annsixty Thu 05-Jan-23 08:49:45

Good morning all from Stockport.
I haven’t opened the curtains yet so can’t report on the weather.
It feels milder but oh I am so fed up of the rain.

I was supposed to be going out today, to a shopping outlet with a friend, however she has a bad cold so I cried off.
She suggested wearing masks but I feel I have been there and done that and don’t want to do it again.
I have escaped Covid but so many people are so ill with this cold and cough that I don’t want to risk it.
I am stopping being a people pleaser at last.

My GD is working from home today so must find things to do out of the living room, perhaps bedroom drawers will get sorted.

I hope the birthday girls have a lovely day, well done kitty in getting some normality back.

Have the best day you can everyone.

J52 Thu 05-Jan-23 08:52:18
