Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday went to Bicester , and my usual bakery cafe was closed , so I have decided to give Bicester a miss until next week , as we seem to be in holiday type period with nothing in full swing.
Take Care,
Mick

Happy birthday to kitty. I’ve woken up to a brighter dry day for once. I planted some tulips I had forgotten about in a pot yesterday, but couldn’t find any chicken wire to cover so mr squirrel will no doubt find them !
I’m going to my gym class this morning - I have missed 3 sessions due to my cataract surgery and Christmas, so will be stiff no doubt tomorrow.
I will take down the little outside tree lights today as mine are the only ones left up in the street ! Indoor decs will stay till 6th . DS popped in last night for a chat . They are having their loft converted into a much needed third bedroom. They have had a two year wait! The twins have been sharing up till now but desperately need their own space. An old house they love but it may have been easier to move tbh
Wishing everyone a good day , each day is nearer Spring now !

Happy birthday to J52 too !

ginny Thu 05-Jan-23 08:54:43

Good morning, I have only had a quick scan through but noticed J52 and Kitty have birthdays so, Happy Birthday them.
DD1 will be coming in for coffee later,
This afternoon is the first 2023 meeting of our sewing club,
Wishing all good day with a smile along the way.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a wet but not raining now, Oxfordshire, at least the cold wind from yesterday seems to have gone away.

Dog walking today and more decluttering, all going into crates, stacked very neatly in the garage, when the weather improves it will all come out to be sorted properly.

Happy Birthday Kitty and J52 enjoy your special day.

Hope everyone else who is poorly soon starts to feel better, take care of yourselves.

Happy Birthday Kitty and J52.🎂🍾🎁

Urmstongran Thu 05-Jan-23 08:59:25

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. I’m anxious about my stepfather there’s a lot going on right now. I don’t lik e to ring him in case he’s had yet another nose bleed during the night and is simply catching up on his sleep. Himself & I have a plan of action for once he’s phoned me. If I don’t hear from him in the next half hour I will phone him. Then we either get in the car and take him somewhere or if he’s managed a crisis free night, I will ring his GP surgery again. This is so worrying. He is stoic and never complains but this situation is scary now in a very elderly man.

Have a good Thursday all who can.
48 posts to read and it’s only 9am! This has become a very popular thread hasn’t it? I will catch up later today. x

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and damp. Happy birthday to J52 and to Kitty.
Yesterday I visited mum but she had decided to go back to bed. I spent longer with my friend so that was ok. In the afternoon I drove to Stirling for afternoon tea at another friend's house. We had a lovely couple of hours.
Today is another doing nothing day. I'll potter about and get a washing done. I'm enjoying these later mornings as it'll be back to early rises on Monday. Have a good day all.

Ziplok Thu 05-Jan-23 09:02:47

Good morning. Another grey day but not windy today. Managed to get some washing out on the line yesterday. It didn’t dry completely, but the worst of the wet was blown away. Will iron it later.
Happy birthday 🎂 🎉 kitty and J52. Enjoy your day both of you. Hope all goes well at your volunteer tearing today kitty - don’t overdo it though.

EkwaNimitee Thu 05-Jan-23 09:03:14

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle. Please send me some sun soon someone!

I successfully got rid of a stack of ironing yesterday and today will tackle the bathrooms then I shall tackle my book. Unless there's a chance to get outside...
Sometime ago, I completed what I thought was a trilogy--three very long books. Then I discovered there were 2 more, also very long. I completed those recently but, lo and behold, there were 2 more! One I read over Christmas, now I'm 20% through the last. There are definitely no more in the offing and the author is dead. Whilst they have been very interesting, I'll be happy to start on something else.

Happy birthday kittylester, I hope your day goes well.

I love those roscon grandMattie but it's no use me trying to make one as there's only me to eat it and I'm already suffering the effects of Christmas goodies, there's rather more of me now!

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Hope you manage to get an appointment for your stepfather Urms and that he has had a trouble free night.

brook2704 Thu 05-Jan-23 09:08:25

Hoping things improve for your stepfather Urms and he quickly gets the treatment he requires

GrannyGravy13 Thu 05-Jan-23 09:12:27

grandMattie Thu 05-Jan-23 09:12:55

Oh Urms, I hope all goes well with your DSF 🫂❤️

Grandmabatty Thu 05-Jan-23 09:21:08

I really hope your stepdad is ok Urms.

Urmstongran Thu 05-Jan-23 09:21:22

Hes just rung me. Another 2 hour nose bleed last night.
He’s dressed and is slowly putting a few things in a bag. I said we’re on our way. This poor man. x

Sorchame Thu 05-Jan-23 09:30:18

Oh Urmstongran, how worrying for you.
I really hope that your very much loved Step Father gets the help he needs today.

dustyangel Thu 05-Jan-23 09:32:29

Good Morning everyone and another chilly one today. It warmed up quickly yesterday though so I expect it will do the same today.

Happy Birthday to Kitty and J52. I hope you both enjoy your special day. 💐🎂🥳

Shazza I’m really enjoying your tales from Madeira. It’s a country that I’ve wanted to visit for years.

Grandmabatty Thu 05-Jan-23 09:36:50

How worrying for you Urms. I hope he can get it sorted quickly.

luluaugust Thu 05-Jan-23 09:37:11

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Yesterday's trip to see friends new bungalow was very interesting, I always think I would like one but seeing the bedroom next to the garden I wasn't so sure, lovely for her though and exciting all the things being done. Floor washing and tidying today, family are coming on Saturday and I don't want to be in too much of a muddle.
Happy birthday to kitty and J52 enjoy your day.
Urms I hope you can get some answers for your step father.

dragonfly46 Thu 05-Jan-23 09:37:25

Happy Birthday J52.

How worrying Urms I hope you can get some help today.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 05-Jan-23 09:43:04

Good morning from dry Harrogate.
I have not read any posts, hope to do that later.
Yesterday went to an out of town centre and had a look in Matalan where I saw ‘Teddy coats’ in plum colour which reminded me of Marydoll’s purple fur coat I’m sure yours would have been nicer ^Marydoll*
Today I await Sainsburies delivery, then hope to go to town and see if there are any bargains left!
Have the best day possible folks

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 05-Jan-23 09:45:17

All very worrying, Urms. Hopefully he will get the medical attention he needs soon.

Georgesgran Thu 05-Jan-23 09:47:36

Good morning from a damp but mild Durham.

Happy Birthday to the ladies. 🎂
So sorry to hear about your DSF Urms - it sounds worrying.
Lovely pic of The Tweed - late DH was part of a fishing on it - I have a framed pic of his beat in the study.

I started with sympathy of cystitis yesterday, but taking those cranberry granules regularly - even overnight seems to have sorted the problem. I’ve DD2’s little dog here, so I’ll get him out for a walk, then take him home later, along with all her and DGS2’s holiday laundry, which I’ve done.
DD1 has gone down with her 2nd dose of Covid and it quite poorly this time. She’s been unwell since mid December, but not positive until Tuesday, so we thought she had ‘flu.
DD2 continues to go to hospital 2x a week for her foot wound - it’s going to be a long job.

I hope everyone had a decent day.

SunshineSally Thu 05-Jan-23 09:59:49

Good morning everyone from a bright south Hants where the sun is peeking out - hoping it’ll remain dry enough for a dog walk! Woke up late today - disturbed sleep and weird dreams so feeling a bit off. DH has kindly offered to do the food shop for his parents in a mo so that’s a relief as I would normally have not only done it but would be on my way to deliver it by now!! Bless him.
Not sure what the plan is for today other than that. I do need to get some new boots as I’m ruining the ones I have. I’m after some Muckboots … but need to try them on as I have wide feet! I’m hoping I can get some in the sales🤞🤞. They’ll be perfect for dog walking.
Haven’t read all the posts yet - but can see there’s some birthdays - so Happy Birthday to Kitty and J52.
Oops - am so glad you had that conversation with your daughter.
Urms - I so hope your stepfather’s ok. It’s such a worry isn’t it.
Grannyfaraway - congratulations on the birth of your DGS. Beautiful photo you posted yesterday.
DDog is currently fast asleep and snoring on my lap and DCat is fast asleep on top of the sofa! Gosh I’m so tired I may even have forty winks myself!!
Have the best day you can. Thinking of those with worries and those in pain 🦩🦩🦩
Hugs and 🌻🌻 for you all x

Morning from a dry but cloudy Staffs. Lovely to read your posts. HB to the birthday girls.
I’m one of the ones with the cough and cold bug that’s circulating here. It started early December, eased off over Christmas and now back with a vengeance. Have tested negative. Don’t have a temperature or chest pain or breathless-just sound like a smoker and feel washed out-moan, moan!
Am staying indoors, keeping isolated. DH has completely recovered so I live in hope I’ll fully recover soon
