Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s quite blustery and there are raindrops on the window but it’s not raining now.

Yesterday I did a Morrisons shop in the morning. In the afternoon I met DS for a coffee. It was nice to have rare time alone. Pre Covid we often used to do this in his lunch hour at a supermarket cafe close to his office. The cafe there is now closed so we met locally. As DH suggested I think we should make it a monthly occurrence. There was something that had been bugging me and I was glad he felt the same and it has been resolved for the future.
I also had a call from my surgery re a recent blood test. Border line for blood sugars. I’m having a call with the nurse next week. Blood sugars? Could it have been wise for my blood test to have been a couple of days after Christmas 😕

DH is still asleep so not sure if what we will be doing today.

I do hope marydoll got some help at her GP appointment 🤞

Good to hear Urms stepfather is getting the treatment he needs and hope he is feeling bettter soon.

Wishing my dear friend shazza a very, very happy birthday today. I know her DH will make it a really special day and spoil her rotten making memories to look back on fondly. Much love to you 💐🍾🎂🥳 xx

Have a good day everyone.

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and very windy corner of Somerset.

11 jigsaws culled yesterday, laundry done, a short break with friends booked and a venture out filled the day. We’ve nothing planned for today. I’ll be making some carrot and coriander soup for lunch then sending some emails while Mr C has a jigsaw to keep him happy, a quiet one here I think.

Safe travels karmalady and all on the move. Special thoughts for those dealing with illness or other pressures. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Good morning from a damp and blustery N.Bucks.
Good shop this morning then we have to take medicines to MIL and DD2.
We have a leak in the upstairs bathroom so DH will investigate and hopefully mend that.,
Nothing much else planned.
Thoughts with all who have troubles and illness.

Good morning from a blustery Oulton Broad.

I wanted to say a big thank you to the people who've sent their best wishes and congratulations on the birth of my new grandson! Appreciated :-)

So far, all going well. They went home from hospital the following day (Weds) and, as baby's feeding well, they are currently getting good periods of sleep! DD and Sil finally named him Seb (Sebastian).

I asked my DD if there was anything they needed as I was going shopping and will be seeing them on Tuesday. They've just realised babies can go through several changes a day (lol) and asked for "more babygros". So Thursday and Friday I thoroughly enjoyed making the most of the sales in all the main stores. We don't have a John Lewis in Lowestoft, nor any department store but I found Tesco, Boots, Asda, Morrisons, TK Maxx and finally Matalan all had some good choices.

I also bought the ingredients to make my popular bread pudding to take over for some ballast while feeding. It's a great recipe I've had for years and doesn't turn out dry like in the bakers shops. I also use wholemeal bread, and add things like walnuts, cherries, apricots etc and it usually is very moreish!

On Tuesday, I will go to see DD and Sil with three bags in the car. I will feel like a late Mother Christmas!

Hope everyone else is well. Today I have decluttering to do (charity bags/clothes mainly) as I'm moving house soon. Plus the usual walk with my two dogs.

Good morning all from Harrogate.
Are you deliberately trying to lose weight Mick? If not, see your doc.
Hope your GP’s appointment was satisfactory Marydoll and you are now on the mend.
Yesterday I slept in, then went to town, bought next Christmas’s Xmas cards in the sale. We had coffee in Harrogate’s posh store - didn’t know it had reopened. Today I’ll be baking this morning and hopefully having a nap this afternoon after a lousy night.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning all. Very much hoping that Marydoll & Urmstongrans DSF had successful results @ their app'ts!

Today I'll store away the 2 small (fake) trees by the door, & the illuminated reindeer family - I'll miss them!
But now it's time for the annual visit of the snowmen decorations, up along the mantle - I always like seeing their smiling faces!
It's sunny here, so maybe the 2nd very early daffodil will open up to join its' mate - both boldly shoving themselves up amongst the friendly pansies.
Enjoy yr Saturday!

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it is quiet, dark and 10°.

DD3 is holding a family get together today. One way and another, we didn't manage to get together over Christmas. Dd2 and family will then come here and stay overnight.

Ashcombe, it's a good feeling to be getting back to normal isn't it. My energy is returning but physical strength still needs a boost.

Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

Morning all from a moderately howling West Oxfordshire. Today I really am taking the tree down and packing away all the ornaments! We have booked lunch nearby so that will be a good outing. OH wants to buy a door for our garage so he may go off and do that after lunch. Not a particularly interesting day planned but some things have to be done, including continuing clearing out younger son’s old bedroom. Mick, if you’re unaccountably losing weight, you need to speak to your GP. Have a good day all.

Good morning all and yes it’s breezy with rain forecast here in Essex.
Not ideal, as Dd has a skip arriving with ds1 and Dh going round to help fill it. The twin boys will help too. DS2 offered his services but as he lives in Hertfordshire, and is not really needed, Dd persuaded him to stay home. She moves In a couple of weeks and it has all been very stressful !
What with her cancer treatment and so much to sort out ! It never rains but …. !

I’m going to stay away as I can imagine things will get a bit tense. Little gd can come here with me .

I’ll make them a shepherds pie for later so that’s my contribution.

I’m hoping all poorlies and worried grans get some respite today. Take care ♥️.

Good morning all from Glasgow. Still dark and quiet outside, heavy rain overnight and it’s continuing this morning. I do miss pottering about in the garden. The only time I do go out is to hurriedly fill the bird feeders in between heavy showers.

A script to collect for DH and a small shopping for basics at some point is the plan so far, other than that, bits and bobs to do around the house.
Hoping your consultant was helpful yesterday Marydoll🤞

Best wishes to all for a good and trouble free day.

Good morning everyone, it’s very wet and windy here in Wiltshire, I didn’t sleep well at all.
Yesterday was lovely with the sunshine, please can we have more?
DDogs enjoyed a trip to a new dog field; much to my amazement our DDog did some agility there, even the tipping seesaw! She’s never even seen agility equipment before so I was really surprised!
It was, however, very muddy so two dogs needed a hosepipe to clean their feet when we got back . Luckily I have plenty of towels on the back seat of the car as well as seat covers especially designed for dog owners to limit the mess.
DD and I made banana bread and walnut cake 😋, both turned out well, and a lovely apple crumble.
Today I need a quiet day, I really have overdone it the last couple of days…….
Have a lovely weekend everyone, here’s hoping for ☀️

Good morning everyone from a very windy Essex by the sea. I can hear it howling around the building.
A trip into town this morning, nothing else planned today.
Enjoy Saturday everyone, don't get blown away xx

karmalady Sat 07-Jan-23 06:38:44

what a horribly windy night in s somerset, it kept waking me up, howling around my windows. I went down and put my bin into the garage soon after I went to bed and that set the tone for the night

I am motorway driving today, a very busy motorway into wales but I am going to leave later than planned, I hope the wind dies down somwhat

Ashcombe Sat 07-Jan-23 06:12:05

Good morning from a wet and windy Torbay after a stormy night.

Take care of yourself, Mick; have you spoken to your GP about the weight loss? I hope Urmstongran’s DSF is able to go home and Marydoll had a good outcome with her GP.

Yesterday, I took down the cards and packed all the Christmas decorations into boxes, including those from the tree. All that’s left is the tree to take apart and “persuade” back into its box! My energy levels are returning to how they were a few years ago; having DH here helps especially as he relieved me of the Lidl run yesterday.

Enjoy whatever you’ve planned this weekend. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

grandMattie Sat 07-Jan-23 06:07:45

Good morning from a moonlit E Kent.
I seem to have had a reasonable night as I didn’t wake up until early 0530 instead of the usual 0300ish.
Quiet day yesterday, ditto nothing planned for today.
I must go to the shops to get a few bits; the walk is good for me.
Hope MD had a successful consultation with her GP, that Urms DSF is doing ok and all the poor lies are better. Birthday/anniversary wishes to all.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
