I am sitting by my husband’s bedside in hospital as he has had a heart attack. Next 24 hours are critical.

That’s all sounding more positive, Cabbie, even if they’re still a long way to go. I’m glad you’re looking after yourself, too. flowers

Thanks for the update Cabbie. I keep an eye open for news. I’m glad the consultant is happy with his progress and that you’re able to go to your choirs. They must take your mind off things for a little while.

Thanks for the update Cabbie
I hope he continues to make good progress.

Just to add, I have visited every day for a couple of hours, but have also managed to go to my choirs this week, which keeps me grounded. My daughter invited me for tea tonight which was a nice change.

Thank you for asking, lixy. He is still seriously ill, but is awake and alert and very grateful to the excellent staff. There have been ups and downs this week, including very low BP, then a very fast heart beat, but the staff have been very responsive. He is now on four drips into a central line, and oxygen. The consultant is happy with his progress thankfully, but it is too early for a prognosis.
It was kind of you to enquire.

Just checking in to ask how it's going Cabbie?
Hope you are keeping warm and well.

I'm pleased he's starting to make progress, Cabbie.
At least all the necessary checks will be carried out now 🤞

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 17-Jan-23 16:39:45

I’m so pleased. In my prayers, if you don’t mind.

Cabbie21 Tue 17-Jan-23 16:26:34

Thank you. He Continues to improve slowly.

Good to hear that you OH is making progress. Hope the reviews help to stabilise his conditions.
Keep on looking after yourself too.

Thank you. There was a big gap with Covid, but normally he has an annual review( it is now 14 months) but what can they really uncover in a ten minute chat plus a few basic blood tests?

nadateturbe Mon 16-Jan-23 22:56:42

That is so bad Cabbie that his reviews are long overdue. Disgraceful.
I am remembering your husband in my prayers.

Cabbie, I hope they can get your DH's issues under control now that he is in the hospital. It's horrible that it took an emergency to bring them to focus, but he is in good hands now. Thinking of you both.

ShazzaKanazza Mon 16-Jan-23 18:41:18

Cabbie I’ve been checking for your daily updates about your DH. I’m pleased he’s making progress. I’ve been thinking of you both and Thankyou for the updates please keep them coming.💐💐💐 hope you are taking care of yourself too xx

Cabbie21 Mon 16-Jan-23 18:35:54

Thank you for your kind comments. In case anyone is still reading, here is today’s update.
DH sat out in a chair for the first time. He soon tired and by the time he had been washed, x rayed and echo, he was exhausted. But it is progress. Still on oxygen, however.
Incidentally, his consultant said both his angina and his diabetes should have been reviewed by specialists long ago. But that just isn’t happening. It seems it has to be an emergency to get anything done.

I've been hiding Complan in custard, and mixing it with yogurt both of which my Mum usually eats. She hasn't complained about them tasting different thank goodness - just a small sleight of hand that might help.

Good, hold your nose when you drink them!

The problem is that worrying can depress your appetite too. Do you have any of those supplement drinks?
(I know, they are horrible!)

Getting some prescribed next week. I am actually eating pretty well!

I’ve been awake since 3.34 worrying about my 9lb weight loss 😣but no point doing that so I will just go and make some tea

9 lbs in how much time? Please get your sugar levels checked- you don't need to go to doctors, any chemist's should be able to.

So many doctors already on the case, liver cancer, diabetes, muscle loss. 9lb since October.,

Nandalot Mon 16-Jan-23 13:06:25

Cabbie21, hope your husband is continuing to make progress.
