Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry at the moment here in brackley this morning.
Today , a busy day I will go to Bicester have something to eat and drink ,and then get another bus to the JR Hospital, for a outpatients appointment who will update me as to what next?
I will get home later though due to how the buses work with the appointment.
Take Care,
Mick

GrannyGravy13 Thu 12-Jan-23 08:16:09

Morning all

Hope your appointment goes ok today Mick and the buses behave themselves.

The wind was blowing like crazy here all through the night, DH was accompanying it with his snoring, hence I am shattered this morning.

I need to go to the big Sainsbury’s sometime today, will have a browse round the homeware department to see if there are any bargains.

Hoping none of our morning friends will be flooded, the weather forecast is not a dry one.

Did I miss Marydoll yesterday?

Have a good Thursday folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from a rainy Black Country.

Lovely afternoon with my friend having lunch out. We walked there, and the heavens opened on the way, so we were very soggy when we arrived. The place was packed, obviously people using the 50% off, so food took 45 mins to arrive. No problem though as we were not in a rush. The joys of retirement smile

Have to try the eye gel today prescribed for dry eyes, as I am very squeamish with eyes, this will be a challenge, but have to do it twice a day for the rest of my life!

Bi-monthly Thursday morning walk later, with a lovely group of people.

Take care everyone.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s dry at the moment after more overnight rain. I’m expecting to see the river burst it’s banks soon.
As I put the bin away yesterday I spotted the first snowdrops in the garden, a tiny patch under the acer. I’ll try to get a photo later.
Off to a Board meeting this morning then I really must try to get a walk, the last 2 days have been too wet. Good walking GD👏👏
Thoughts with those who are not well.
Hope today is kind to everyone.

Stilllearning Thu 12-Jan-23 08:22:25

Morning from S Lanarkshire, still very dark. Again I’m writing without reading as I want to get to mass today.I’ll be keeping everyone in mind.

A fair bit of housework needing done after that and then taking my next door neighbour out for coffee and cake this afternoon to thank her for their help with taking in parcels for me during my childminding absences.

It would be great if the rain stopped, it’s becoming very wearisome.

I’ll catch up with all the news with my morning coffee, wishing you all a good day🦩

Wyllow3 Thu 12-Jan-23 08:29:12

Good Morning from S Yorks

I was lucky yesterday, my appointment could be a Zoom so that made things easier.

Quite bright out atm, tho a stormy night. I live 800 feet up so rain goes elsewhere.

Cleaner comes at 9am so I will go out to the gym.

Bests with appointments, Mick and all, and that's a long wait for a hip op Grammaretto sorry to hear that.

enjoy friends and family, and strength for poor lies.

SusieB50 Thu 12-Jan-23 08:31:18

Good morning from a miserable wet East London. Well done greyduster with the walk . I did exactly the same after my hip op -dropped my keys at the door, I had to get the spare key out of the key safe , open the door and collect my grabber to then pick up the dropped keys! Then I had to replace the keys back in the key safe !! A right palaver .. Grammareto - a very long wait , think I will have also get on the list for my other hip as it’s already complaining loudly😟.
Visited my friend yesterday who had a knee replacement recently. She is struggling with awful sciatica since. Her lovely DH has the beginnings of dementia, and is so anxious about her poor thing.
Exercise on prescription at the gym today, but will take it easy as I think I aggravated the pain in my bad hip last week. Then have a phone chat with DD and family to find out the plans for their visit this weekend. I may have to dog sit !

BlueSapphire Thu 12-Jan-23 08:38:04

Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Northampton. Will be taking it fairly easy today as I tripped up putting the bins out earlier, managing two grazed knees and hand, and seem to have pulled a couple of muscles somewhere. Think I will give my dance classes a miss.

Got through to the holiday company yesterday late afternoon after waiting all day for a phone call from them. One positive result - they have emailed me the confirmation for my new holiday, which I will print off this morning - I do like to have a hard copy. Still waiting for a refund for the cancelled holiday though; will be chasing them again.

Sainsbury's delivery this morning, so I must shake a leg and get showered and dressed.

Hoping Thursday treats us all kindly.

Gingster Thu 12-Jan-23 08:46:38

Good morning all and the wind has abated for a while here in Essex.

Lovely choir practice - first of the new year. It really brightens these dismal days. Nothing like a sing along to cheer you up. 🎶🎶.

No bowls group for us today as Dh is going out for breakfast with his two old school pals and I am going to DD’s to help do some packing.

Karma your spinning sounds fascinating! Such a skill to have . Show us your progress and end results please.

GG. - ‘our’ Sainsburys do have some lovely bargains, so I hope you bag something you like.🤞. Might see you In there. Dd needs some new bedding and theirs are good quality.

Good luck to all with appointments and treatments.
Hope marydoll and other poorlies are on the up. 🙏

Have a as good a day as you can. 🙏

monk08 Thu 12-Jan-23 08:49:03

Good morning all from the Black country, rain has finally stopped.
Some progress regarding the Drs have just got off phone I have a call back at 16.50pm, how that will work when I can't show them the problem we shall see.
All the best for your appointment Mick . I hope Urms stepfather had another trouble free night and Marydoll is feeling a bit better.
Shall now grab a cuppa 🍵 and catch up with everybody's happenings. Enjoy your Thursday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

EkwaNimitee Thu 12-Jan-23 08:50:15

Good Morning Mick and everyone from dark damp Carlisle. A rainy morning is forecast I believe. I'm staying in and will shift my pile of ironing plus a Tesco delivery is due at midday. I've a bit of admin to do and will I start on my growing list of little jobs? Probably not! I just don't like doing these things when I have to switch the lights on to see what I'm doing, when it should be daylight.

NannyJan I've been putting gel in my dry eyes for decades. I was also very squeamish about my eyes, couldn't bear any one examining them or the thought of me putting drops in. But when you have to do it, you find you can.

You are missed Marydoll, I hope things aren't too bad....

Have the best possible day, all.

Urmstongran Thu 12-Jan-23 08:53:54

Here’s Matt.

We have a lovely sunrise here in south Manchester and it’s dry and mild. Alexa says it’s 9°C at present with cloudy skies. We might get rain later. No matter, I have absolutely no need to go out today, yay! Unless of course the salon ring me back with a mani/pedi appointment for today 🤞as we now plan to fly out to Spain on Saturday for the 10 days up to our retained flights home. I don’t want to move those as I want to be home to see L’il Miss on her 6th birthday. 🥰

No phone call during the night from my stepfather. I dare to hope now after 4 nights that the ENT treatment has worked. It’s my turn to phone him today. He does Monday, Wednesday and Fridays so we know where we’re up to ha! We got ourselves in a muddle over Christmas and kept waiting for the other to ring, both of us forgetting whose turn it was.

Good morning from a damp and dreary looking Essex by the sea. The tide is out in the estuary and everywhere looks grey and miserable.
Food shopping this morning and an afternoon indoors.
Thinking of Marydoll and hoping she is ok.
Enjoy Thursday everyone xxx

GrannySomerset Thu 12-Jan-23 09:13:48

Dismal and wet here so am worried about the roof leak. Meanwhile I have a phone conversation with the surgery about my stubbornly high blood pressure and then a U3A lunch at a local pub to which I look forward. Assume that the blood pressure and the roof leak are not directly connected.

Hope there is good news about our various poorly posters, and that the day is kind to all.

aggie Thu 12-Jan-23 09:36:26

Good morning from a wet Co Armagh, very blustery too
At the club yesterday we had a film that I remembered from years ago , about Hanna Hawkswell , gosh , her weather and lifestyle looked even more dire than I remembered ,
She did move into a village and lived to 91
I’m sitting here with family next door and a street away , good insulation and heating so nothing to complain about !
My neighbour wasn’t at the club after a fall , I keep in touch by phone , I don’t like to visit as it’s a marathon for her to open the door
grandMattie can you freeze some of the soup , so have it on alternate days ? I’m probably saying something you have already known ,!
Thinking of the poorly and missing xxxx

Georgesgran Thu 12-Jan-23 09:40:40

Good morning from a currently dry Durham, where there are a few patches of blue sky between the dark grey clouds.
I’ve been putting off completing my tax return, but I’m now getting almost daily messages from HMRC to remind me - it’s now becoming urgent, so that and a day of general admin beckons, before I head to DD2’s late afternoon.
I’m happy with the work on my car yesterday and now feel confident about trading it in. The open can of worms is what to get next!
Sorry to hear Marydoll isn’t well, hope she feels better soon, but good news from Urms and for her DSF. Hopefully Mick can get to and from his JR appointment without problems.
Best wishes to all. X

NannyJan53 Thu 12-Jan-23 09:44:54

Ekwa just tried and wasn't too successful, but as you say needs must. Its that or suffer isn't it?

Georgesgran I did my tax return just before Christmas, still getting reminders, plus reminder to pay before end of month! Do they chase the big payers as vigorously? smile

luluaugust Thu 12-Jan-23 09:46:45

Good morning from a blustery W Kent. A day in, it has been a busier than usual week so far so I do need time to catch up with myself, I seem to be getting slower at getting things done. Picked up my hearing aid batteries and sat in the queue, where I feel incredibly young!, the 90 year old sitting next to me had been bought along by her daughter and granddaughter, we got chatting and she told me she had just paid £75 to have wax taken from her ears, something the GP used to do, her daughter joined in and said this was a great part of her weekly pension, what a disgrace. We had quite a wait so enjoyed more chat.
Best wishes to all.

Grandmachrisy47 Thu 12-Jan-23 10:08:41

I too have dry eye. Is the gel prescription only or can you buy it over the counter?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 12-Jan-23 10:24:16

Popped back to see if Marydoll had posted?

If you are reading and not up for posting Marydoll sending you (((hugs))) and prayers dear virtual friend 🌸🌸🌸

Marydoll Thu 12-Jan-23 10:50:14

Thanks all. Been very unwell and been in bed all week. Not been up to posting.
New heart meds to replace the other unavailable ones, are also unavailable.
A bit of a mess, so I'm grounded until I see the cardiologist.

To top it all, my kitchen ceiling has been demolished to find the leak in the central heating. No heating or water.
Mr MD was in a flap., so I've had to get out of bed to deal with it.
If I could run away (nae chance), I would.

cornergran Thu 12-Jan-23 10:58:32

flowers and a big hug marydoll

Grandmachrisy47 Thu 12-Jan-23 11:16:23

Oh Marydoll hope things improve.
Hugs to all who need them.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 12-Jan-23 11:18:51

Lots of hugs and 💐💐💐 needed for ladies this morning.

Gingster Thu 12-Jan-23 11:21:46

Oh Marydoll that’s all you need!
I know that feeling ‘wishing I could run away’ . 😢
Take care and know that we are all thinking of you. ❤️

MawtheMerrier Thu 12-Jan-23 11:28:17

Good morning - rather late but I went back to bed 4 hours ago with a mug of hot lemon and honey and have just woken up again. It looks misty and moisty outside so I have no urge to investigate further. Cancelled my activities for today and am hunkering down.
Poor you Marydoll I cannot imagine how you are keeping even a smidgen of a SOH. I hope it gets sorted soon and at least you can relax and concentrate on you.
As for your heart meds, I think your consultant/hospital department either need a kicking or to kick somebody else’s bum.
What on earth is happening to us all?
(Don’t anybody answer that) just all have the best day you can under the circs flowers
