Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry at the moment here in brackley this morning.
Today , a busy day I will go to Bicester have something to eat and drink ,and then get another bus to the JR Hospital, for a outpatients appointment who will update me as to what next?
I will get home later though due to how the buses work with the appointment.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a still stormy E Kent. At least we didn’t get the volume of rain as Bristol as shown by a video sent by DD yesterday afternoon.
All the best for your appointment today, Mick.
Enjoyable Knit and Natter yesterday, then spent the rest of the day quietly, folding washing etc. made a delicious soup for lunch. Problem is, will it be as nice after 6 days?
Spanish today - we shall be talking about TV, programming, advertising, your viewing habits, etc. stretch the vocabulary hugely!
Hope every one has a gentle day, especially Miss MD.

Morning Mick, morning All. Rain on the window again, no need to look out to know our corner of Somerset is very damp indeed. Flood alert in the early hours.

Thunder storms swirled around for a couple of hours yesterday. Torrential rain so no inclination to wander out, a sedentary day which may explain my inability to sleep. Mr C on the other hand is never similarly afflicted.

Car being collected for a service this morning. We’ll finish a mega kitchen clean, not sure what else. It’s hibernating and faffing weather for sure.

Good luck today mick. Special thoughts to all struggling with health and other worries. Hope Thursday is a gentle day for us all.

karmalady Thu 12-Jan-23 06:47:44

good morning, s somerset is well and truly sodden and many parts cannot take the rain which is still coming down. I feel very grateful to be high enough not to have that flood worry

A good sleep last night and what a gift it is, to have the good sleep that truly refreshes us

I need to change tack during the day, no knitting for a while, nor sewing, household tasks will not take long and a quick walk is indeed a quick walk. Reading and re-starting my spinning later, first blend is just 100g of a silk/merino in beautiful colours, I have several 100g. I will take my time and spin thin to make singles to keep on bobbins for now. They may well end up as summer tops, depends on plying and how many grams I use

It keeps my mind active for sure and I am happy as long as I remember to bounce on my (invisible) rebounder that I walk past umpteen times a day

Grammaretto Thu 12-Jan-23 06:54:06

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Not too cold but there is snow forecast for the weekend.
Good luck with your hospital appointment today Mick.
I had an orthopaedic appointment yesterday.
It was quick and efficient. I saw the x-ray and the state of my right hip. I'm now on a waiting list for a new hip. 2 years at least
I limped to John Lewis for retail therapy and a coffee.
Today gentle yoga.
Hoping everyone has a good day. I'll be back to read through later.

baubles Thu 12-Jan-23 07:01:36

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire, the rain has paused but not for long I suspect.

Good luck with your appointment Mick.

The charity shop was super busy yesterday with customers spending lots of money, we also had forty four bags of donations, it was non stop.

Off to the Capital today, DDoutL and I will take the children out for a few hours whilst DH and DS slosh paint around their living room.

I’ll catch up with all the news later.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Ashcombe Thu 12-Jan-23 07:03:37

Good morning, all, from a very wet and windy Torbay with a storm that hasn’t abated since yesterday evening.

I hope you are not directly affected by the floods, cornergran; poor Somerset again! Good luck with your appointment at the JR, Mick. I’m glad you’ve slept well, karmalady - yes, so good for us all. That is a long wait, Grammaretto; is a steroid injection a possibility for your hip?

DH had a good day out yesterday with the train services behaving well! 3.5 hours to Derby from Newton Abbot isn’t bad going. We had a good attendance at Wednesday Club for entertainment from some sea shanty singers.

Today, we’re having the boiler serviced so mustn't linger in bed too long. I hope you all have a good day; do keep dry and warm! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from a very wet Oxfordshire, it sounds as though the wind has dropped a bit.

A pottering day today, dog will be here later, I might make some cakes for MissOops to take home with her along with some soup, but that’s it.
MissOops sent a letter to her GP practice telling them how unhappy she is with her (lack of) treatment and also with Nephews. Result is 3 appointments this week, with blood tests and Nephew is being seen again today. Let’s hope they can do something, it seems as he is under the ‘care’ of the MH team any actual medical problems are ignored.

Have a good day everyone, stay dry Mick hope your appointment goes well. I’ll pop back to see how everyone else is later.

ShazzaKanazza Thu 12-Jan-23 07:27:27

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. We have showers forecast today.
Hope your appointment goes well Mick.

This morning I’m going to the gym for the first time since before Christmas and I expect it will be a tough one.
I need to make a large Spaghetti bolognese sauce in preparation for my birthday gathering on Saturday. Yesterday I made and froze a veg chilli. I ordered 18 gluten free cupcakes to be specially made from a lady near us. I can’t bake as you can guess.

Picking GS up from school again and he seemed pleased to see us yesterday. It was lovely to see him we missed him so much.
I’m finding it very hard getting back into a routine after my holiday. My head is still in Madeira I think.

Wishing a good day for you all. Thoughts to those with illness and stress weighing them down. 🌻🌻

Beechnut Thu 12-Jan-23 07:36:31

Good Morning everyone from a wet Severnside. Not raining at the moment which makes a change.

I will go out and do an early food shop this week and then back home and really must get on and sort my admin.

Hope all goes well with hospital and other appointments for anyone who has them today 🪷🦩

Susan56 Thu 12-Jan-23 07:37:43

Good morning from Shropshire.

I hope the flooding doesn’t directly affect you cornergran. There is a lot of flooding in the villages around here too at the moment. The forecast is slightly better today with the rain hopefully stopping at lunchtime.

We are back to our regular two days of childcare from today.H will be arriving any minute then school pick up for DGD later.

I hope your appointment goes well today Mick. Also thinking of Marydoll.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Greyduster Thu 12-Jan-23 07:41:24

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Good luck with the appointment Mick.🤞🏻 It’s cold and still dark in South Yorkshire but at the moment it’s dry. I walked down to our local supermarket and back yesterday, just to see if I could manage the mile round trip and felt rather pleased with myself, but then when I got home and got my key out of my pocket, I dropped it on the floor and of course I can’t bend down that far yet so I had to ask my neighbour to come and pick it up for me! I felt such an idiot and it rather put my small triumph in the shade. I feel very grumpy this morning but DD is coming over to take me ‘proper shopping’ so I had better snap out of it before she does.
Have the best day you can folks.

loopyloo Thu 12-Jan-23 07:44:03

Good luck with the buses, Mick. And with the appt.

ginny Thu 12-Jan-23 07:45:45

Good morning all.
I’m not planning to do much at all today. I am coughing and my nose is alternating from be blocked to streaming. Luckily I don’t actually feel I’ll just uncomfortable.
Will have to miss sewing club this afternoon.
Grandmattie can you not divide up the soup and freeze some ?
Good luck with you appointments Mick
Kind thoughts to all.

Pittcity Thu 12-Jan-23 07:45:58

Good morning from wet, windy Colchester. Nasty weather forecast all day.
I'll change the bed and get started on spring cleaning. I wonder how much out of date stuff has accumulated in the kitchen cupboards?
Somebody is coming at lunchtime to relieve us of some of the materials left after our bathroom refurb. It won't make much difference to the cluttered garage but it's a start.
Love to all 🦩 x

brook2704 Thu 12-Jan-23 07:47:53

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve another cold showery day forecast. Yesterday stayed dry most of the day but with a strong bitterly cold wind
I’ve no plans today so I’m going to make the most of it and try to have a catch up on many of the indoor jobs waiting to be done.
Your spinning sounds very interesting karma, enjoy!
Hoping marydoll and anyone else feeling poorly has a better day today
Well done with your walk yesterday greyduster, it doesn’t matter that you dropped your key, easily done😀
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Taichinan Thu 12-Jan-23 07:50:23

Good morning Mick and all who follow. I'm up early - for me! - and it's still dark on the Angus coast, but the sky is clear and the moon is shining. According to the weather forecast that is due to change later. We had a beautiful Spring-like day yesterday - seem to be alternating daily between that and stormy.
Today is tai chi morning, followed by some shopping.
I hope your appointment goes well Mick, and sorry to hear about your hip Grammaretto and the long wait you're going to have to endure.
No more news from here, so off I must trot and get this day in motion. Have the best day you can everyone x

BlueBalou Thu 12-Jan-23 07:53:14

Good morning from another very wet corner of England, thank goodness I live on the top of a hill because the fields are flooded all around.
Sewing group this afternoon, other than that I have a mountain of ironing to clear and I need to finish rearranging the bedroom (rather chuffed with my efforts so far)
Take care everyone x

Fifiw Thu 12-Jan-23 07:57:35

Good morning all from a wet and windy south Warwickshire.
Hope all appointment’s go well. And anyone feeling unwell gets better soon.
Another day to get out and meet
friends for coffee…… weather permitting. Happy Thursday.
Lots of spring cleaning to do might start tomorrow.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 12-Jan-23 07:58:29

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s feeling mild at 9 degrees.

I accomplished all I wanted to do easily at Meadowhall yesterday. I was tempted by a couple of bargains in the sales and also bought something to put away for next C*******mas for GS. Enjoyed a nice tapas lunch.

This morning I’ve done tidying to do and I have mince to do something go with for tea. A hotpot or chilli? Decisions. I have a call with the practice nurse this afternoon. Well I hope it’s an all as that was what was arranged as the timing coincided with school pick up. They text reminder yesterday said about wearing mask etc going in to the surgery. I hope it’s just the standard message. We will see.

Hope your appt goes well today Mick and anyone else with illness/family illness.

Gala Thu 12-Jan-23 08:03:47

Good morning from a dank, damp & dismal Sefton.
Off to my Zumba class first thing. Hopefully DH will give me a lift. I don't fancy walking there this morning. It's so gloomy. It will our first class back after the festive break. Then a visit to the fish man. He's back after his festive break some where hot & sunny. Will probably have to do some food shopping , the fridge is empty.
Good luck with your hospital appointment & the buses Mick.
Take care all & have the best day you can.

kittylester Thu 12-Jan-23 08:04:01

Good morning from a temporarily dry North Leicestershire.

The fields around here are just one huge lake. And the wonderfully named Slash Lane is flooded. To add to our village woes, one of the other roads out of the village has had a burst water main.

Liberty Thu 12-Jan-23 08:05:46

Good morning from what looks like a now dry Suffolk although plenty of rain and wind during the night.
I’m off to my ‘ body conditioning’ class this morning. My only hope is,not that it improves the condition of my body, but that it might somewhat slow down its deterioration! So far think it might be working a bit.

I noticed yesterday when starting to prune some of the roses that the snowdrops are emerging as usual and should be love,y in a week or so but other bulbs are topsy tut y. A pot of tête-à-tête daffodils are in full bloom and others in the ground are several inches tall…..and some squirrels either haven’t yet hibernated or have woken up with the recent mild weather.

Hope today is kind to all and especially those with health worries.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 12-Jan-23 08:10:19

Morning all from what sounds like a stormy West Oxfordshire. OH and I are going to the U3A New Year lunch. Should be interesting. This evening I’m doing a zoom get together with some friends. We had been meeting in person, but one of our number has finally got covid after managing to avoid it all this time! Have a good day.

Grandmabatty Thu 12-Jan-23 08:14:58

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and damp. It's not raining just now but some is forecast.
Yesterday I visited mum but she had decided to go back to bed, like last visit and was sleeping. I won't go for a few weeks as she obviously doesn't want to see me. The rest of the day was fairly lazy. I got my hair cut too.
Today I'm going to potter in the house and generally tidy. Beef stroganoff for dinner. Have a good day all.
