Morning from S Yorks with high gusts of wind overnight and not a good night. TMI tum troubling.

I've meet up with a friend mid morning in a cafe with top cakes.

Thoughts with poorlies may it be as good a day as possible, and outings enjoyed.

Good morning everyone from a very windy Northampton. Not venturing out today as still sore from my 'fall' yesterday, so will continue to take it easy, and dose myself up with Ibuprofen.. I seemed to sleep well last night though.

Will have another phone call to a very helpful travel agent, who gave me her personal number yesterday, (to save me going through the call centre, and having to explain the whole scenario again each time). I called yesterday to correct the spelling mistake in my name on the documents, which she did, and re-sent the paperwork by email; except I haven't received it yet! Once I get it I can reprint the relevant pages.

Not much cooking again tonight, just some rice to go with a curry from the freezer. Glad that I make the effort to batch-cook. Used the last Bolognese yesterday, and have also used the last of the chillies, so must get some more mince to replenish the stocks.

Hope that Friday the 13th is lucky for all of us!

Good morning from a dawning E Kent. It is still very windy.
I have overslept after taking a pill!
Nothing happening today apart from a foray to the supermarket.
Haven’t read the posts yet but would like to wish everyone well.

Good morning from S Hampshire, it’s not raining for a change. Enjoy your early appointment Urms prep for Spain, you must be excited 🤞, to absent friends ☕️.
Good you have a timeframe Mick.
Hopefully Tuesday was just a blip Ashcombe, enjoy your trip today.
I did get out yesterday and jobs were done, but it wasn’t pleasant, today should be better and I may get into the garden, a few late plants need a chop.
Enjoy your day if you can 🦩🦩.

Good morning from Colchester. The wind and rain was relentless yesterday. We are forecast a dry day today.
Im waiting in for a parcel to be delivered and one to be collected, so I'll get the ironing board out.
We are going to visit sisIL this afternoon. I expect Evri will turn up while we're out.
I've made a pasta bake to warm up for tonight as I had too much free time yesterday and planned ahead.
I'm missing several posters too and often wonder how they're doing.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all from breezy East Yorkshire.

I’d arranged to meet DIL for coffee yesterday then got a call from the surgery about changing my call with the nurse to the exact time I was to see DIL. So we swapped times. To cut a long story short I didn’t get a call. I’ve got a new phone and I’d forgot all about the service to the new provider changing over which must have coincided with the call as no call came. My tech manager DH said I would still have got a missed call alert. I went into the surgery on my way to coffee who checked it and she said the nurse tried to call 4 times. 😬 Anyway it’s rearranged and it’s a f2f one this time.
Then I’d walked back to where I was to meet DIL at the top of the road to find as she was early she’d walked down to the house! Still we had a nice catch up.

Today I’ve a hair cut too. Then a small shop and perhaps lunch out.

Glad that you now know about your op Mick can you transfer that deposit to a trip at a date in the future?

Good news all round Urms for you. You will feel the benefit of relaxing Spain more than usual after the last few worrying weeks. I too have been wondering about the missing grans. Best wishes to them if they are reading.

Have a good day everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 13-Jan-23 07:24:33

It’s quiet here this morning.

I echo your thoughts on our missing friends Urmstongran 👋
they are all missed. Safe journey tomorrow.

Off to the gym first thing, then pick up The Imp from pre-school and see what the afternoon brings.

Have an easy day Ashcombe

Thinking of you Marydoll 🌸

Have a Good Friday folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good Morning. Happy Friday 13th. Hibernation seems best decision. So windy last night very little sleep.
Lots to do wrap birthday presents for grandson then out walking with a friend. Have a good day

Good morning from Glasgow where we have yet more heavy rain. Looking at forecasts, I think we can safely say, January has been a wash out!

Hairdressers today followed by meeting up for coffee with two friends, a much needed outing as I am beginning to feel stir crazy indoors too often due to so many rainy days.

Hoping you feel a bit better today Marydoll and that someone has finally tracked down the meds. you require. 🤞x

Best wishes for a good day to all whatever lies ahead.

Grammaretto Fri 13-Jan-23 07:15:53

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
6°C cloudy.
It is good Mick that you are to have a clearer picture of your condition and its treatment.

I have invited someone to lunch today. I'm cheating and taking her out to a café.

I also miss Gillybob on Fridays Urms.
I hope you enjoy your 10 days in Spain without too much concern about DSF.

Have as good a Friday 13th as you can everyone. Keep on keeping on.

Urmstongran Fri 13-Jan-23 07:10:42

Hopefully she’s just enjoying a lie-in Ash. It’s dark and very conducive to hibernating this month!

Ashcombe Fri 13-Jan-23 06:59:41

I hope grandMattie is OK as she is usually one of the first to post on here each day. 🤔

Urmstongran Fri 13-Jan-23 06:54:44

Because it’s Friday, I found myself thinking of gillybobs and her joyful ‘Friday Girl’ always made me smile. I wonder how her situation turned out? It was pretty dire and then Covid hit. Also, 👋 to you Crumpet Queen if you’re reading this morning. I still miss you and I bet others on here do too. I hope you, your family and the Old Tom are well. Finally, whatever happened to pantglas? She can’t have run off to ‘mi casa’ can she? I expect she’s enjoying her morning chamberpot before trotting over to Llandudno later! She was always so cheery it was lovely to read about her morning busyness.

Urmstongran Fri 13-Jan-23 06:39:11

Here’s Matt.

Boy it was windy last night! I’m quite surprised to see it’s dry though looking out. Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s still dark. I’m awake before the alarm as I have a mani/pedi appointment over at the salon at 9am. Bit early for me but it was a cancellation and beggars can’t be choosers.

Flights are booked for Málaga tomorrow lunchtime with Mr. O’Leary. A taxi to the airport takes us 15 minutes so it’s all very civilised.

We will pop round to have a cuppa with my stepfather after I’m back from getting my nails done. In one sense it’s good we’re only away 10 days. Fingers crossed all will be fine. No phone call last night so at 5 nights now I feel confident he’ll be alright. He’s well stocked up and has no plans to be out at his club nor is he drinking till we get back. He said he’s had a dry January without planning one. Very sensible.

Home this afternoon to eat an early hot dinner and put stuff in my airport handbag. I keep a small list in it so I never forget anything. Then this evening we are babysitting so the parents can go out for a drink and then a meal. I’m already excited thinking about tomorrow - we’ve been home nine weeks! It has gone fast though.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 13-Jan-23 06:36:57

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I was expecting a parcel by at 7 am but as I’ve just had a text to say it isn’t arriving today I’m staying in bed a bit longer. I am visiting my 90 year old aunt this morning. She is in a Home and has double dementia and osteoporosis. She probably won’t recognise me or remember the visit, but never mind. I haven’t been able to see her since before the pandemic started. I have to take a negative covid test with me. Apart from that, it will be a quiet day. I am meeting my daughter in London tomorrow so will need to be on the ball. Have a good day everyone.

Ashcombe Fri 13-Jan-23 06:35:32

Good morning from a breezy but dry Torbay.

It’s good that your appointment has given you an idea of what the next few months hold, Mick - the travel company might offer a partial refund of your deposit, if you explain the circumstances.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your afternoon, BlueBalou, and good luck with the new hairstyle you have planned.

Thank you for the kind comments after I had had a poor day on Tuesday (should have acknowledged them yesterday) which helped me regain my equilibrium. A quieter day at home yesterday was welcome, apart from a visit from a Hometree engineer to service the boiler.

A drier day is forecast so we might venture into Torquay on the bus. DH can take advantage of the £2.00 bus fare as he’s not entitled to a bus pass, due to being a French resident.

Enjoy whatever you’re doing today with relief from pain for those who are suffering. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

BlueBalou Fri 13-Jan-23 06:09:18

Good morning Mick, more rain here in Wiltshire and the Avon has burst its banks at Batheaston 🙄
I’m glad your hospital appointment went well, at least you can plan things now you have more idea of what is going on.
I had a lovely afternoon with some friends yesterday, lots of laughs, just what I need.
Today it’s a trip to the hairdressers, I’m getting my hair cut shorter, it’ll be a while since I’ve had short hair! Then nothing much for the rest of the day, other than cooking lunch and generally pootling around. It’s supposed to be drier today….we’ll see!

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and its been raining here in brackley as well.
Yesterdays Hospital visit was OK , I get impression an operation will be done in next few months , but will have a stomach scan first .
I will not be going on my trip to Harrogate in March due to the above , I have only paid the deposit so no great loss .
The trip to the JR had its hiccups , the bus I got on which goes direct did not start ,so i got a bus into Summertown north Oxford ,and caught a bus from to the JR , at least I did not have to walk up the hill to the main entrance.
Take Care,
Mick
