Good morning from a rainy dull Black Country.

Gym this morning, then Library to print off boarding pass for our trip Monday. I have them on the phone, but like to have a back up printed version too!

Then this afternoon, it will be packing. As it is going to be cold more jumpers and layers, where usually it is summer clothes and shorts!

So relieved for you Marydoll that your medication has turned up, although this kind of worry should not be happening.

Have a good flight Urms, fond memories of Malaga where we last visited in 2018, so a trip is long overdue for us.

Wishing you all a good Saturday

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Raining hard, and has been for some hours, so think I shall be confined to the house. Hope the nearby rivers behave themselves but with days of rain forecast we could be at risk so will be anxious. This house has never flooded, but nothing is certain nowadays.

Glad that Mick has some dates with the NHS, that Marydoll has some small encouragement with her drug provision and hope Urmston has a trouble-free journey to her happy place. Have a good enough Saturday, everyone.

Good morning from a wet and very windy W Kent. I hope to get out to local garden centre but I have decided to take the small piece of turkey out the freezer, which I bought before Christmas as a just in case. This has lead on to me thinking I might be able to defrost the freezer and whether I can do that and get out remains to be seen.
Safe travel Urms and glad the medicine has turned up Marydoll. Hope all goes to plan on Monday Mick
Good wishes to all

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Good to hear your appointments are coming together Mick. It’s wet and gloomy in South Yorkshire, but I am not planning to venture outside today. I slept badly, my back aches this morning and so does my leg so I’m not in any hurry to get out of bed. I had a nice day with DD yesterday. We had lunch in a coffee shop I have had my eye on for a while and it didn’t disappoint, then she took me food shopping, so whatever the weather throws at us next week I won’t starve. She also brought me the Classic FM puzzle book that she ordered three weeks before Christmas from W.H. Smith. It arrived at their house on Thursday! It will keep me busy scratching my head for a while!
Welcome Tommo and any other new posters.
A hug for anyone who needs one.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Late up this morning and my full English is calling so will read through posts later. I see Marydoll meds have arrived which is good news, Urms I wish you a safe journey I'm another who doesn't like being on the motorway especially when its raining, we have that journey this evening when we go to friends.
Enjoy your Saturday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from a miserable East London , cold too - late today as got involved with a street WhatsApp conversation . Someone had an attempted break in, they were disturbed by their dog !I will read the posts with my coffee later as I must
get a wriggle on ,I need to make up beds for DD and GC staying overnight. They are going to the Van Gogh 3D show . SiL staying at home to get prepared for the extension and loft conversion that are starting next month hopefully.
Yesterday a friend put up a security light for me - mainly to light up my front steps more clearly but it might also possibly help prevent prospective burglars. Generally around here though it’s usually high end car thefts which I don’t have !

Auntieflo Sat 14-Jan-23 09:31:24

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Good luck Mick with your CT scan.
Wet again here, after a lovely dry day yesterday.
So good to hear that you got your meds sorted out Marydoll, what a relief!
We have DGS3 and his lovely partner arriving for lunch. They are bringing everything with them and I have been told to "just put your feet up, except when answering the door" .
Ginster I would be interested in how you are going to re-condition your front door. Ours is also composite, and a dark slate colour, that seems to be fading a bit. I didn't know it could be done, or is it a case of looking on You Tube?
Sending healing thoughts to all who need them.
Have a good day one and all.

Taichinan Sat 14-Jan-23 09:36:25

Good morning Mick and all. It's drizzly mizzly on the Angus coast, but brightening as I write. Nothing planned here, except for making a pot of leek and potato soup (and the tai chi paperwork 😉😄).
Glad things are moving forward for you Mick and hope the scan goes well on Monday. You'll be quite the expert on all your local hospitals soon. Glad too to see a cheerier post from Marydoll with the news of progress on the pharmacy front.
Safe travels Urms. And hello Tommo - I'm afraid I couldn't bear that heat though! I love a bit of cool sunlight, me, on a day with no wind - heavenly!
Enjoy your days everyone, and may the poorly have a better day on their way back to good health x

dragonfly46 Sat 14-Jan-23 09:40:06

Good morning from a very soggy Leicestershire. It was lovely yesterday though and I got the washing dry.
Today is a day for hunkering down.
Cheese fondue tonight so an easy meal just have to make the salads.

So pleased you have your medication Marydoll hopefully it will make you feel better.
Enjoy the Spanish sun Urms not at all 🤢!

peli Sat 14-Jan-23 09:44:13

Morning all y'all! ☀️I'm slow to start, due to a sleepless nite, but enjoying reading all about yr plans! Very windy outside today, but I've plenty to keep me occupied indoors (but ignoring the long, boring chores list!)
Safe travels to Urms for her lovely trip, & to all who are dealing w/ going out in bad weather!
Marydoll, I was so happy to read yr good pill news!!
Waving to Tommo over in Darwin, who's busily enjoying doing nothing - I defin need to try that!
Off to have a cuppa now...

Alygran Sat 14-Jan-23 09:48:55

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Wet overnight again.
I’m up really late after my evening at the Jazz club. The singer was great but the band a bit too loud. Still good to be out and meet friends.
Not much on today. Some admin for the charity and I have some flowers for DH’s grave so a walk round to the churchyard later.
Safe travels urms and everyone else on the move.
Hope today is kind to everyone l

Susiewakie Sat 14-Jan-23 09:50:46

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton. Was hoping to get into town today, but will wait and see if it clears up.

Had a really lazy day at home yesterday as still feeling sore from my 'fall' on Thursday. I managed to start my new book for book club, 'Brooklyn' by Colm Toibin. which appears to be a nice easy read. Will continue with it today once I have got through the Saturday papers.

Hello to Tommo in Darwin, and welcome. We lived in Darwin from 1989-91 as my DH's job took us there from the UK. We lived in Nakara. Have lots of happy memories of our time there.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Wyllow3 Sat 14-Jan-23 09:59:19

Morning all, blustery and wet in S Yorks.

A bad night so main aim today is just to get the the gym for a stretch out.

Best wishes to poor lies and family and friend meet ups: safe travel Urms and good news Marydoll Glad they are on the ball Mick.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 14-Jan-23 10:00:12

Good morning all from wet and windy Harrogate
Welcome Tommo. How about we do a swap, some of your heat for some of our cold rain?
Marydoll I am delighted you have finally got your meds! Hope you are soon feeling more perky!
Good that you are getting your scan so son Mick.
Today I do nothing (except cooking and cleaning)
Have the best day possible folks

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 14-Jan-23 10:01:00

Oh, safe travel Urms

harrigran Sat 14-Jan-23 10:01:05

Late good morning from a wet and windy NE.
Yesterday we booked a summer holiday so I now have two UK holidays arranged and it is still on the cards for me to visit Brussels to stay with DD.
Sister and BIL will visit this afternoon closely followed by DS and GD2 who will stay for the rest of the day. GD1 has so much course artwork to do that she has to stay at home and work. DIL has to prepare for a course she is attending for a couple of days from Monday. The other end of the country I believe.
Have a good day.

Kalu Sat 14-Jan-23 10:12:47

Good morning from Glasgow where it is wet again unlike yesterday which was dry and milder. Our very old flowering cherry badly needs a haircut and tidy up. Planning ahead, I booked a date with the tree surgeon who is always in high demand and will be fully booked soon. Another tick on the to do list ✔️

So pleased to hear your meds. have arrived Marydoll and hoping you feel a welcome improvement soon.

A Waitrose visit later today other than that, whatever the day brings.

Best wishes to all for a good day and an easier day for all with troubling times.

Stilllearning Sat 14-Jan-23 10:14:53

Morning from S Lanarkshire, weather as usual!

Very glad to see your meds have arrived Marydoll, I hope you feel a difference soon.
Progress for you too Mick, that’s good.

I’m having lunch today with a long time friend who has led a very ‘interesting’ life but who is struggling now with old age.
It’s a shame and I hope our occasional phone conversations and meetings, help. We all have worries but I feel very grateful for what I have.

Safe journey Urms I do have a teeny bit of envy for your lifestyle 😊!

Wishing everyone as good a weekend as possible🦩

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 14-Jan-23 10:22:50

Good morning from a wet and blustery Oxfordshire, the wind and rain kept me awake half the night so I’ve only just got up.
Welcome Tommo good to hear you have good weather, does it ever change I wonder?
Mick so pleased your CT scan has been arranged at last.
Urms have fun, I’m sooo not jealous (she lied)
Marydoll what a relief to hear you have your meds at last, might be a good idea to put in for another repeat well in advance.
Not a lot going on here today, we are still surrounded by boxes, the Ukraine truck has been delayed and should be in a local village on Monday, the lovely organiser is pulling her hair out, so my clear out has also been delayed, never mind it will still all be in the cupboards next week.
MzOops has to write her offer out for the land in the far North of the U.K. today, it has to be a good offer but also a good statement as to what they want to do with the land as that’s very important to the seller. They are still going ahead and hope that we will have change of heart in the next few years. Nope, nope, nope. It’s just too far for me/us to go. But before then she has a cardiologist appointment soon to see what’s happening with her heart problem.
MissOops is waiting for blood test results, they still don’t think she has RA, but her GP is very concerned about her aggressive Arthritis and the pain she is in at such a young age, her fingers have so many lumps and bumps and she cries with pain, it’s so hard to stand by and just have to watch.
Anyway, have the best day everyone, hugs for those who aren’t so chipper today.
(Sorry I haven’t commented on more posts, but there are so many these days and I forget the names…..)

And let’s hope it stops raining.

Urmstongran Sat 14-Jan-23 10:27:10

Wowzer, we are already sat with coffees in the airport lounge! No queues. Himself just said now “I wonder if they’ve learned something from the soldiers?”. Makes you think. I was told I didn’t need to remove my watch and I could leave my phone in my handbag! Unheard of. Yes that’s only seconds saved, but replicate that throughout the day and it’ll make a big difference.
😊

grandMattie Sat 14-Jan-23 11:02:32

May I wish you “Bon voyage” Urms?
And Marydoll, so relieved for you about the drugs. Keep plugging on for your”baby’s “ baby. Always a joyful event. ❤️
Hope you are feeling better, Maw.
Sorry, I can’t mention everyone, but you should know you are not forgotten. 😘

Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest Lancashire coast.
Nice day yesterday, art in morning, black ink drawing then a bit of shopping and lured into B&M where it told me what I wanted😁 (a brush gadget for getting into narrow spaces round the tap etc. and a makeup holder)
I need to move the stonemason along, it is nearly a year since my DH ashes and my brother in law went into the family grave and only one line has been done on the headstone which is lying on its side.
Quiet day today but off early to the lakes tomorrow.
Thoughts as always to those with worries of any kind.
