Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cold at -1º with lots of snow still around. It’s not forecast to rise much above freezing today so no sign of it melting yet.
Lovely pictures Ash I hope your new cat settles in well.
I’ll be off to the gym this morning and then a bit of shopping in Tesco. I can’t do any gardening due to the snow so I’ll just have to have a lazy afternoon 😀
Have a lovely weekend dragonfly and enjoy the celebrations!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from very frosty Harrogate
That’s a lovely kitten Ash it will soon settle down. And get to know you.
A very unsettling time for you Grandmattie. Hope you soon find what you are looking for.
Glad you managed to find some bargains Marydoll makes it all worth while.
Yesterday Sainsburies was almost late with the delivery so didn’t go to town. Will have to try again today!
Have the best day possible folks

Grammaretto Fri 20-Jan-23 08:28:24

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Snow still on the ground but I managed to get the car started yesterday and made it to yoga. There's underfloor heating in that village hall so it's bliss

I got a shock and almost fainted when I looked at my emails . At long last the loan for my improved heating came through after a year plus since applying and 3 days after asking my MP. surely just a coincidence

I hope your building works get sorted soon Whiewavemark
Have a great day everyone.

GrannySomerset Fri 20-Jan-23 08:31:41

Still processing the estimate for sorting out my car headlight problem - whole new unit which will cost almost £1K. Added to the roof estimate and January is proving hideously expensive and depressing. Might have to stop eating, which actually wouldn’t hurt!

Lovely morning so must get ready to go to Bath with a friend to shop and lunch, a date which has been in the diary for some time.

Glad to see a back to normal Marydoll, Scotland’s bargain queen; hope GrandMattie gets some encouraging news about a new home soon, and glad Ash has arrived safely. Have a good day, all.

Grammaretto Fri 20-Jan-23 08:32:04

Tea at DS this evening so no cooking yippee.
Happy birthday Wyllow🎂💐 I do believe your driving to family so safe journey.
Enjoy your Friday everyone and may you all find some ☀️.

Abitbarmy Fri 20-Jan-23 08:39:34

Forgot to say Ash your new resident in France is beautiful, reminds me so much of our cat when the children were young, he was a real character. I miss having a cat but I promised DH, no more!

Jaxjacky Fri 20-Jan-23 08:46:57

Good morning from a frosty S Hampshire, -1, but we’re up late. Pleased your journey was straightforward Ashcombe, hope it’s the same for others travelling today.
Happy Birthday Wyllow enjoy your day and family time 🎂🎉🎈.
We went out for a carvery dinner last night, offers everywhere at the moment, it made a pleasant change from cooking.
Delivery later from Asda, a walk and some phone calls to make.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Good morning g from a sunny Oxfordshire where it’s -4 degrees.
Not much happening today, so I’ll wish Wyllow a very Happy Birthday.
Pleased you are feeling a bit better Marydoll
Ash your new cat is the image of one we had when I was 10, we named him Lucky because my dad found him in a ditch in the woods when we were Blackberrying, he was almost dead, but he had a happy life with us and our other cat Watney ( my brother named that one as he liked the music on their 1960s TV advert)
GM fingers crossed your daughter finds you a lovely place to live very soon.
Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Fri 20-Jan-23 08:48:27

Happy birthday, Willow!

Good morning everyone from an already sunny and frosty Suffolk. Apart from a hair appointment at 11am a quiet day awaits although a lively chatty hour with my hairdresser awaits. She has a great sense of humour and has me in fits about the doings of her elderly parents and her no longer daughters.

My catch up with friend for coffee morphed into lunch which was lovely. My DH can never understand how we can spend over 3 hours chatting but I’m sure you all can.

Hope today is a calm one for all.

EkwaNimitee Fri 20-Jan-23 08:50:08

Good morning Mick and everyone from frosty Carlisle where it is -3C with a clear blue sky. Yesterday my car finally thawed out but overnight its windscreen has acquired a solid layer of ice again. Not going out....again. This arctic air is taking a long time to shift but on the other hand, I will not be looking forward to milder air which generally means grey and rain!
I started a new book, by Anne Cleeves. I've only read her Vera books before but this one is looking promising.

A morning spent at my computer, I think, doing admin and research into various matters. The latter is probably procrastination, I should be picking up the phone and speaking to people.....which I hate doing.

That's a beautiful cat Ashcombe, hope he/she settles in with you soon.

Have the best possible day, all.

EkwaNimitee Fri 20-Jan-23 08:51:04

Oh, and Happy Birthday Wyllow. Hope it's a good one!

Beechnut Fri 20-Jan-23 08:52:00

Good morning from frosty and chilly Severnside.

I agree with you Mattie about the dark mornings. I’ve been staying in bed much later than usual.
Off for my weekly shop this morning. I won’t go until the frost has melted off the car though.

Happy Birthday Wyllow 🎉🎂

Take care all 💐

Grandmabatty Fri 20-Jan-23 08:52:57

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -2° with clear skies so no chance of the lingering snow and ice leaving yet. Not as much as you though Brook. Happy birthday*Wyllow*. Enjoy your time with family. Ash a lovely cat. I hope OD gets over the cold quickly. Grandmattie you've had so much to contend with. It's no surprise if you feel unsettled.
Yesterday was a very quiet day and I pottered about the house doing a little housework.
I had a very unsettled night's sleep so didn't wake til after eight. I've no idea why I couldn't get to sleep but it was very annoying. Today I will probably go to Aldi for food and get washings done. I was supposed to go for breakfast tomorrow with a friend but she's cancelled. However dd has invited me to go for lunch to a local restaurant. And another friend has asked if I want to meet her for brunch on Sunday so a sociable weekend ahead. For today though, some hibernating. Have a good day all.

brook2704 Fri 20-Jan-23 08:58:55

A very Happy Birthday Wyllow enjoy your special day! 💐🥂🎉🎂

luluaugust Fri 20-Jan-23 09:02:24

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Food shop this morning and childcare this afternoon complete what has been a very busy week for me. I see there is nothing much in the diary for next week.
Happy Birthday Wyllow
Good luck with the flat hunting Grandmattie
Best wishes to all.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a blue sky South Yorkshire. The house is taking its time warming up today. DD is coming over today to have lunch, take me shopping and change my bed. There aren’t many things I can’t manage now, but wrestling with king sized duvets is a bridge too far yet! If there is time, we may get a short walk in. I had a lovely chat with GS last night. He rang me. Can’t get used to his deep voice booming down the phone😁!
Happy birthday and safe travels Wyllow!💐🎉🎂
That’s a beautiful moggie, Ash!
Have the best day you can folks!

Kalu Fri 20-Jan-23 09:08:16

Good morning from Glasgow where it feels milder with a promising looking sunrise.

DH’s visit to his speech therapist went very well yesterday. The speech valve which was giving him problems was replaced resulting in his voice being clearer and stronger. I was itching to assist in the procedure and DH jokingly told Shona I was enjoying the visit more than he was. Another progressive step for DH and I must add, our dealings with NHS have been excellent.

Blow dry later then GD2 will be dropped off after school for her requested sleepover at ours. More chess lessons with Grampa and of course, whatever else will be her decision. 😄

Have a good Friday all.

hollysteers Fri 20-Jan-23 09:10:12

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast. After a quiet day inside yesterday off to Art group, then food shopping. Watched a Miss Marple last night and only at the end did I realise I had seen it before. They all look rather similar and I have written down the Poirots watched for this reason.
Happy birthday Wyllow💐 and good luck with your flat hunting grandMattie
