Downsizing and parting with furniture
Mandelson failed security vetting. Starmer says he didn’t know
Good Morning Everyone,

I would like to pop out on a bus just to visit a store and use some of my xmas gift cards .
Otherwise a quiet day with a Chinese take Away later.
Take Care,
Mick
Yes - spot on, Kalu
Lots of birthdays at the moment. Apart from OH’s today, my baby sister was 65 yesterday! Happy Birthday to all the birthday people🎂🎁🎈
Good morning from a frosty West York's , I am expecting dd and Gc soon a bit of ironing to do and salad to make before they arrive.
💐Alygran and to all under the weather ,safe journeys to those traveling today .Happy. Chinese new Year.
Good morning Mick and all from a bright northwest coast.
For some reason I am very overtired these days, it’s all an effort .After art yesterday, not feeling sociable, I did a food shop and came home gratefully, falling asleep in the chair. Thought I must be coming down with something.
DD in the south having problems selling her flat here due to tardiness on the solicitor’s part. DH was a solicitor, also my BIL and it’s not nice to hear of inadequacy. But she has come up with various places in Greece for our annual family holiday, so giving them the once over is cheerful.
Today I shall run through my songs for music club on Tuesday, when I shall be in charge and also my Scottish songs for Burns Night.
I love Nutcracker Nannagarra, have a lovely time.
Hope you hear soon grandMattie and thoughts to anyone with worries.
Good morning. We have another keen frost and the sky is becoming greyer. It was foggy earlier. Now standing at -2 degrees. I don’t think I’ll be going far today. Luckily, the supermarket shop was done on Thursday.
Hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday Wyllow, belated wishes 💐🎂.
Enjoy your time in France, Ash. Your adopted cat looks really sweet and will become more confident in time, I’m sure.
Enjoy spending your vouchers, mick. Be careful underfoot.
Morning from near Durham very cold but sunny.
Going well with family! A caterpillar birthday cake and lot of Prosecco.
Very easy drive yesterday up the M1/A1M so I hope it goes well over the M62 Grandmadinsaur roads are ice free due to grip and use.
Best days all.
Morning from S Lanarkshire, very cold but, in spite of AcuWeather’s predictions, no snow so far, thank goodness.
I am supposed to be meeting some friends/former work colleagues for lunch and looking forward to it.
We usually meet at our local golf club restaurant which has lovely views over our pretty local pond, (which is called a Loch, but is really not!).
Nannagarra, I read A Man called Otto some time ago and can well imagine your tears!
Wishing everyone a good Saturday 🦩
Good morning from Glasgow. No sign of frost, grey skies but I am hoping for some unexpected sunshine. The sight of Easter eggs and decorations in the shops has perked me up with a reminder Spring is just around the corner.
Life is feeling a bit more normal again. A busy day running around and the arrival of GD2. As she is very keen on French as one of her subjects, we had some French conversation which is also helping her accent. Although 13 now, she arrived with her Jelly Cat Hare for bedtime. A gift we bought both GDs when they were born Georgesgran, not sure if this is what you are referring to. GD has named hers, Arthur. 😄
When your DH is finished hanging mirrors kitty, please send him to hang two mirrors for me. DH is no handyman and he
has earned the title, BIY, (break it yourself)!
Hopefully a good Saturday is ahead for all.
Oh that’s exciting for your DGD taichinan, will the show be at Eden Court? They have a really good programe of dance shows there
Good morning from a frosty, sunny W Kent. Quiet day today but plenty of house stuff to get done.
Happy birthdays and safe travels all round
Happy Birthday to Mrllfl 🎂🍺
Good Morning Mick and everyone from a very frosty blue skied Hull.
Happy Chinese New Year 🧧 I’ve messaged my son and daughter in law. I’m a rabbit and our new grandchild is due at the end of May. We are looking at flights to go at the end of June but at the moment to go premium economy it’s getting on for 10,000 pounds. That isn’t direct as we need another flight to their city. We will keep looking. Then we have the cost of the visa’s on top of that. We will stay at their apartment to be with baby so no accommodation costs.
Tonight we have GD1 sleeping over so I had a lie in this morning as GD will be up with the sparrow’s cough in the morning . 🤞not though.
Granmadinosaur enjoy Liverpool and your family time.
Alygran thoughts to you all today 💐
Gingster hope your DD finds her cat. She doesn’t need this extra upset on top of the move💐
Happy birthday to your DH Ladyleftfieldlover 🎉
We need to go for our big food shop so I’d best get moving.
Have a lovely Saturday everyone. Thoughts to those poorly and stressed🌻🌻
Good morning from -3 in S Hampshire, it’s just taken MrJ ages to defrost his car, he’s off to get my newspaper, a weekly event.
Happy Birthday Mrllfl 🎂🎉 enjoy your day.
No big plans, chicken curry to make a birthday presents to wrap, our grandson is 10 tomorrow, he’s going bowling today with two friends.
Enjoy your day all 🦩🦩
Happy Birthday Mr LLFL.
Alygran
Good morning all from a cloudier but still lovely spot on the Angus coast. It's a balmy +1°, but the frost hasn't realised it yet! I'm leaving in a couple of hours to pop down to Dundee to take Dancing GD and her friend out for lunch and to catch up with all their doings. I know she's very excited about going to Inverness in February for her first show of her year with Scottish Youth Dance so that may well be the main topic of conversation!
Bluebalou crocuses already! How glorious. Nature is a marvel, isn't it, the way those frail little plants manage to break through the frozen ground. We only have snowdrops so far, but the daffodils will not be long now. The first one in this garden usually opens around March 9th. I don't know why I first noticed that, but now I have, it's a fact!
Bluesapphire what a lovely stroll down memory lane you took me on with your mention of Singapore and Malacca. Thank you!
Our various tai chi groups will come together next weekend to welcome the Year of the Rabbit with a Chinese banquet at the restaurant in town, which we did for many years pre-covid. It's so good to see as life very gradually gets back to normal.
What a wonderfully entertaining time you are having Nannagarra - enjoy the ballet today.
Cataract ops are miracles, grandmattie - life regains all its beautiful colour, particularly after the second one.
Have a lovely day everyone, and stay safe and cosy x
Good morning from another bright but frosty day in East London . I much prefer these days to constant dreary clouds. My heating bills will not be so happy though!
Yesterday I collected my prescription I have had for years for high blood pressure and asthma , two items were missing and the pharmacist said he can’t get them. MD I thought of you , but a charming pharmacist apologised profusely and said he hoped they would be there by Monday . I have enough-(just) till then .Otherwise it will be a long wait on the phone to get through to my once excellent GP surgery!
I have a recommended man to come and give me a quote for reopening a blocked doorway in our living room today .The change will enable me to have more seating in the lounge area as my visiting family are growing fast …
Not much else today, maybe go for a healthy walk in this gorgeous weather.
Wishing all those not so well or troubled a peaceful day and hugs (( ))
Good morning all from a very frosty and sunny Suffolk as it has been for the last few mornings. A quiet day when DH and I will probably venture out for coffee and cake later and I shall plan to do all kinds of jobs here and actually do very few of them and spend my time reading the papers.
Mention of the Nutcracker made me remember when we went to Covent Garden with our 2 Bristol DGDs. The younger was 6 at the time and wore her party dress with a net skirt with appliquéd mice on it. During the interval having ice cream in the foyer she couldn’t resist doing a few twirls and ballet steps! Other people there watched and applauded. She was thrilled and she wasn’t really a ballet dancer.
Hope all have the best day possible.
Good morning from Brighton.
We had a horrendous journey on the train as there was a signal failure and it took 5 hours to get from London to Brighton. We met up with DD and SiL for a nice meal. It is DiL’s party this evening so looking forward to that.
I will now go and read all your posts.
Just popping in to wish you all a good morning.
Need to get a wriggle on as we overslept and apparently there are plans to take 2 of GDDs to see Matilda at the cinema - just received a text from DS1! Thankfully I’m not driving - another heavy frost. All is white and sparkling - pretty but can be treacherous underfoot 😱.
Will read through posts later hopefully. Have the best day you can - thoughts to those thar are poorly or are feeling low 🦩🦩
Keep safe and warm. A hug 🤗 and 🌻 for you all x
Good morning everyone from sunny Málaga! Finally I’m in with you. The little ‘wheel of misfortune’ has been constantly whirring! We have a gorgeous warm day ahead so intend to make the most of it. I’d like to walk down to the marina, have a coffee then stroll along the paseo. I will ring my ex-neighbour to see if their bar is open. If so, we will walk that way, in the direction of Fuengirola to say ‘hi’ and pass them a present for their new grandson born last month. It’s the ubiquitous ‘Sophie’ giraffe. If they are away on holiday (many bars close this month or next to get a holiday in before the ‘season proper’ begins) then I fancy another glass of that delicious sangria at Playa Miguel’s. Either way, I’ll be sat sunning myself with a chilled glass of something beside a cobalt blue Mediterranean. Lovely. And someone has to do it ...
Happy arrival Ash for you and your man. The cat who has adopted you looks really sweet. You’ll be thinking of names now I expect! grandMattie I’m so different to you - I’d have been on the phone by teatime yesterday to my daughter! No scrap that, she’d have definitely rung me, buzzing with news of her finds. 🤣
Two much loved family members have birthdays next week, so both Aquarians. Our Yorkshire Lass will be 45y and L’il Miss will be 6y. We will spoil them because we can. ❤️❤️
Good morning all from frosty Harrogate
Grandmattie I always ask for a telephone number when giving stuff away on Freegle. Save’s having to wait all day for no one to turn up. It’s very rude of them!
Today will probably go to the church coffee morning, and maybe call in at the station to find out about some trains (if and when they are running)
Enjoy your Chinese takeaway mick
Have the best day possible folks
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire, where we have fost and frog - sorry, frost and fog. I had a very restless night and am in no hurry to get up this morning. I made a chocolate cake last night which I will ice and decorate for DD’s birthday tomorrow, and hope it doesn’t look like too much of a car crash! She won’t mind anyway, she loves a home made cake. Though she’s a much better baker than I am, she rarely has the time. To be honest, I rarely have the inclination these days, but it’ll keep me busy today.
Ash I’m glad your lovely newcomer is settling in - it doesn’t take them long does it?😊
Alygran💐. Hope your family travel safe today.
Have the best day you can folks!
Good morning everyone from Inverness where the snow is beginning to melt and we’ve got some light drizzly rain
Happy Birthday to your DH llfl enjoy your day together! 🎉🎂🥂
Nothing much planned for today but I expect DD2 might be in touch to meet up sometime as DGS and SiL are out all day at a basketball tournament and DGD will be at her dance class.
Pleased that home energy loan arrived at long last grammaretto
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and still frosty. There was a beautiful deep pink sunrise earlier. I know it foretells rain but it was such a lovely colour.
Yesterday I went to Aldi for food and then surprised myself by getting the housework and most of the washing done. I even cleaned all the glass and windows.
Today I'll change the bedding on my bed and dgs1's bed. He's coming for a sleepover in a couple of weeks so a nice fresh bed for him. I'll do a little ironing too. The highlight will be going out for lunch with dd and dgs1 to a restaurant local to me. I should have been going for breakfast with a friend but she cancelled so dd asked if I would like to go for lunch instead. I'm looking forward to it. Dgs2 will be left with his dad as he doesn't understand the pleasure of waiting for food 😄. Other than that, I'll do very little. Have a good day all.
Very heavy frost overnight so I am looking forward to the slightly warmer weather next week, when I will complain that it is grey and damp. A friend is taking me to collect my expensively repaired car from the garage who will not be able to explain why a sealed headlight unit has so expensively failed.
Hope the weather does not spoil the weekend for people. Last Saturday we couldn’t get out of the road for flood water so I suppose things have improved.
