NO, not me - but our first child. Just can't believe it, how can it be? HOW?

MiniMoon Wed 25-Jan-23 22:02:59

My daughter has celebrated her 40th birthday this month.
Later this year my son is 38. Where have all the years gone?

Redhead56 Wed 25-Jan-23 22:15:58

Maw my heart goes out to you I cannot imagine what you went through.
I had to wait a while before starting my family. My son was born when I was 31 after a difficult pregnancy. My daughter arrived three years later. Now in their thirties I don't know where the time has gone. They are the love of my life as are my three little GDs.

So sad, Maw

Mine have 20 years between them. I was very young when I had my first and rather old when I had my 5th!

henetha Wed 25-Jan-23 23:29:27

My sons are 62 and 58. My eldest grandchild is 33. Frightening isn't it!

henetha Wed 25-Jan-23 23:30:56

Oh, Maw. I'm sorry. 💐

Hellogirl1 Wed 25-Jan-23 23:40:39

My youngest is 51, the oldest is 59, with 56 and 58 in between. David, who died a few weeks ago, would have been 53. Makes me feel like Methusalah!

Hetty58 Thu 26-Jan-23 00:03:52

My eldest is 44 - and no, I can't quite believe it. It means that I'm officially geriatric and I have to accept that now. It's tough!

merlotgran Thu 26-Jan-23 00:35:28

I would have given anything to have celebrated my DD’s 50th.

She died a week before it.

veejay Thu 26-Jan-23 01:38:26

My eldest is 61, next one 60 daughter is 58,, but looks more like 40 and twins 50
I was only saying a few days ago.where had time gone
I will be 80 in 3 weeks time.but in general, and most people think I am younger.but good genes I think anyway I don't feel it.except first thing in a morning trying to get out of bed
My mother always looked younger than her age,and people thought she was more like late 60s when she was in her 80s
It's scary. Time seems to go very fact there days

nanna8 Thu 26-Jan-23 01:42:23

I’ve got a 50 year old, too. Plus a 49 year old and a 45 year old . Our youngest is 42. Time doesn’t just fly, it zooms !

nanna8 Thu 26-Jan-23 01:44:17

💐 another for you, Maw.

Kim19 Thu 26-Jan-23 04:27:00

Yes, had dinner with my 'becoming 50 this year' baby last night. He just kept laughing and said it couldn't possibly be true. Long may that feeling persist.

MrsKen33 Thu 26-Jan-23 05:00:29

My DD will be 58 this year and DS 52. ….Good grief.

(Hugs) to everyone who has lost a child at whatever age.

BigBertha1 Thu 26-Jan-23 07:37:34

Our youngest and the only child together would have been 46 this year...eldest daughter(the one who was adopted and who found me when I was 50) is 53 this year. Youngest is 49.

Sara1954 Thu 26-Jan-23 07:58:13

I agree with Kitty, I have no words, but lots of hugs.

sodapop Thu 26-Jan-23 08:46:29

Sons 48 & 46, daughter 44 …
Age is a funny thing, someone asked me how old I was the other day, and I really had to stop and think 🤔 when I then said “70” I just burst out laughing as it just sounds so absurd 🤣 moi, where did my life go, the eternal young woman !
Still, what a privilege to still be here to laugh, I’ve already lost 6 dear friends in 3 years so I am so grateful for my health and happiness.
