NO, not me - but our first child. Just can't believe it, how can it be? HOW?

My lad would of been 40 this year so I feel for you. It's hard when they are forever another age 😪

Brocky Sat 28-Jan-23 11:25:06

My grand-son is 40 years old next month!!!

Lexisgranny Sat 28-Jan-23 11:26:17

Mid fifties…………all grandchildren grown up……..how did all that happen so quickly. On the plus side, they are all relatively healthy and have all done well, so there’s not much to complain about.

My middle daughter had her youngest in december (aged 38) i told her how time flies- it wont seem long till shes grown up etc etc.she laughed. It only dawned on her when she rang other day & i mentioned MY age when i had her youngest sibling (turned 40 3mth after i had him) and she said "OMG im going to be old when she grows up!" Well cheers for that DD🤣

My son would be 40 in May. I lost him to cancer age 26. His younger siblings are now age 37 and 35, which messes with my mind. I'm so blessed to have my other son plus my daughter though, and 3 grandchildren. He was just about to get married to the girl he'd met at school 10 years earlier . She's now 40 and hasn't met anyone else, it destroyed her. I'm blessed I saw him reached adulthood though, and I knew the man my child became. What shocks me too is how my tiny first grandchild is now at secondary school and she's nearly as tall as me .....how did that happen! 😂

I am 68 my parents still alive are 90 and 88, I am still trying to get credit in the corner shop

Nannan2 Sat 28-Jan-23 11:38:52

Thank God we have good family genes. They've only just stopped ID-ing eldest DD (nearly 43) in shops!😅☺️

My daughter is 38 and it sometimes seems very weird. In my mind she's still a teenager. . . And my little baby son who died in 1979 would be almost 44 now. That's hard to think of.

Nannan2 Sat 28-Jan-23 11:43:39

I'm used to a lot of my GC being as tall as or towering over me.Even the 9 year olds are my height.(thank goodness for the 2 yr old & the new baby😁)

LuckyFour Sat 28-Jan-23 11:49:29

One daughter is 55 (and has retired), the second one is 50. Very hard to believe. Fortunately I'm still fit (touches wood), and enjoy doing lots of things with them.

Maw and any others flowers

Rosina Sat 28-Jan-23 11:56:14

Maw and to the other mothers who have lost their DC flowers

My oldest child is fifty soon - five minutes ago I was walking her to playschool. I became a Granny at fifty - wonder if she will?

My daughter will be 67 this August (born the week of the Farnborough Air Showand, the Nursing Home right near the airport, so very noisy!!) was my GD is 26. Can't believe where the years have gone!!

MawtheMerrier

Our little boy would have been 50 this year.
I often find myself wondering, and imagining what he would have been like

I feel for you. I had two DDs in 18 months and was told no more by the doctors.
I often wonder what if I had had a boy would he have been different to the two girls would he have been more caring of my feelings like my little grandson is of his mum?
'To have seen them and have known them must be so hard.
All my sympathies and anyone else in the same position.flowers

harrigran Sat 28-Jan-23 12:05:46

Nellietheelephant Sat 28-Jan-23 12:17:42

Juicylucy Sat 28-Jan-23 12:23:00

I know my eldest was 50 in November we had big girly weekend away in Manchester. Shocking where the years have gone.

Grandma2002 Sat 28-Jan-23 12:27:08

Over 50 year old children and grandchildren at University did for me. Wonderful feeling of achievement on all sides but mainly living to see it all take place.

Bijou Sat 28-Jan-23 12:36:13

My daughter who died at age 20 would have been 75 this year. My son is 74 and my three grandsons are all over 50.

Kipper1953 Sat 28-Jan-23 12:37:24

I will be 70 in March. I don’t feel or look 70!
My mum who will be 91 next month can’t believe she has a daughter this age. 🤣🤣

Coco51 Sat 28-Jan-23 12:59:17

DD turned up in a pair of Hotter boots - saying she’s officially old! She’s 42. Worse, my eldest GS is 21 in April eeek!
