Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark here in brackley but dry at the moment .
Anyway my few days away at the new Warners at Heythrop Park near Chipping Norton.
On arrival early Monday afternoon the coach drops off all 8 of us , we had been given are room plastic keys and number prior to on the way in, registering card at reception and given a building plan , the reception like my rom was on level -2 , you have 5 levels with the ground floor being where the resultant was in the manor house , meal wise you booked online using a ipad to register your details and set your breakfast and evening meal times , unlike other hotels you had no designated table you were shown to one by the staff ,and then ordered your meal .
there had been a day trip to Stratford planned but nobody wanted to go due to cold weather , there was plenty to do in hotel and surrounding grounds as its in a secluded location .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Sefton. I can't hear wind, rain or crunch. Sounds like a dull grey day although sunny periods are forecast.
Have had a busy few days. Yesterday flew by with Zoom Zumba swiftly followed by Pilates in a nearby town, lunch then food shopping in different nearby town. Our local supermarket leaves a lot to be desired. It's cold, gloomy with lots of gaps on the shelves.
Zumba in the community this morning & a visit to the fish man then that's it for today apart from some admin paperwork I really should push around file.
Have the best day possible.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. No ice again today.

Your trip sounds lovely Mick pleased you enjoyed it.

grandMattie you are showing your super talents again. Good potential news about your house.

Urms that’s a funny Matt this morning. Just saying about migraine. I get the zig zag line aura so if I can take paracetamol immediately it doesn’t develop. I have to keep tablets in every handbag and my car just in case.

We had GS from school last night and his talking is really coming on. It’s like he’s just decided he wants to talk now at 8. The heartbreaking thing is he’s hard to understand so we still have to say ‘show us’ I was laid awake in the night racking my brain to think of something he was asking us for last night. We just couldn’t understand and he looked in every cupboard bless him. But we prayed for this so we will help him all we can.

Shopping today for luggage for our friends 60th birthday and a new lamp for the dining room so a fairly chilled day.

Wishing a good day for you all. Virtual hugs for those who’s days are weighed down with stress and illness..🌻🌻

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy and quite a bit colder than the last few days
Your trip away sounds good mick pleased you’re back home safely
Fingers crossed your house sale is sorted without any hassle gMattie
I’ve nothing planned today except a potter and tidy up in the garden and a bit of housework. I’ll be enjoying a lazy day!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 26-Jan-23 07:57:36

Good morning all from dry Harrogate
Hope your sale goes smoothly GrandMattie.
Well Perdito is one lucky cat - did you find out how old he is Ashcombe?
Today I have my Sainsburies delivery and later a zoom call with my sisters.
Have the best day possible folks

Urmstongran Thu 26-Jan-23 07:52:53

When our youngest girl did jury service they were ushered out of the Crown Court via the back door after delivering their verdict. Turned out he WAS a very nasty piece of work when past crimes were revealed. His family were vociferously massed at the front steps and the Court usher decided discretion was the better part of valour. Daughter was genuinely scared. She rang me as she walked away from the building. I told her to jump a black cab.
😱

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 26-Jan-23 07:52:17

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I too suffer migraines - in fact I had one yesterday, took a sumatriptan and was in bed by 8 pm. I know some people stop getting then with the menopause, but not me! It is my Book group today. We meet at the local cafe, have lunch and talk about books. Tonight I will pop round to a friend’s. Have a good day.

cornergran Thu 26-Jan-23 07:51:29

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset has a little frost, much less than of late.

The mist came down yesterday lunch time and didn’t move, a really cold feel. Being out for an hour was enough. Dust removed I spent an hour supporting our distressed friend who was very fearful. Later a very different call with another friend had me smiling until messages poured in from the first friends daughter. Oh heck. More of the same to come today I think. Distance is a real barrier in all sorts of ways.

Not sure what we’ll do today. Have roped in Mr C to empty and consider the contents of a small cupboard and I’d like him to check a power socket, something he is competent to do. Neither will take long. Maybe hunker down with some catch-up programmes.

Pleased you enjoyed your break mick, good luck to grandmattie and with your decision susan. Welcome back urms.

Take care everyone. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

karmalady Thu 26-Jan-23 07:51:03

Good morning, it will be dry and sunny and normal january weather today

I enjoyed reading about your warner experience Mick. GM my fingers are crossed for you. I have no idea when you last sold but it has become an extremely stressful process. I suggest that you prepare a file of every scrap of paperwork wrt to the house, jobs done, certificates, planning permissions etc and harden your heart when you hear the words `cash buyer` they are often not but use those words to secure a house or get a reduced price

Yesterday was a good day and I am hoping that today is too and that the plumber can squeeze me in this week, to replace a dripping kitchen tap

Pittcity Thu 26-Jan-23 07:48:53

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. Slightly milder today.
Housework, laundry and shopping today.
We are on school pickup duty for DGS2 this afternoon.
Love to all 🦩 x

Gingster Thu 26-Jan-23 07:48:46

Good morning all and I hope it’s not as cold as yesterday. It was so bitterly cold.

Last evening I had Choir practice, which was lovely with lots of jolly songs to lift the spirits.

Today we have bowls club and I hope Dh will come along. He has given up everything and has no motivation. I’m quite worried about him! Dd said yesterday ‘he’s going downhill fast’ 😢. Don’t know what’s wrong but he’s seeing the neurologist next week. He’s had a TIA and maybe another and hasn’t been right since. 🤔.

Sorry to hear you have a migraine GG. It must be awful! I’ve woken with a headache but never suffered from migraine, thank goodness. Hopefully it will pass quickly! 🙏

Enjoy your days, all. Hope it’s a good un 🤞.

dragonfly46 Thu 26-Jan-23 07:45:49

Good morning from Leicestershire, the snow has gone and it feels a little warmer.

Having to stay in this morning to wait for the Waitrose delivery which didn’t arrive yesterday. Apparently the driver went over his hours. They will be getting a snotty email today as they didn’t think to tell us.

Hope you feel better soon GrannyGravy and everyone has a good day.

Marydoll Thu 26-Jan-23 07:43:39

Good morning all from Glasgow, it's 0° here.
It sounds as if you enjoyed your trip Mick.

Another day of incarceration is in store, I'm indeed becoming a hermit and happy to stay at home.
Yesterday, an unexpected telephone catch up with one of my granspals gave me a boost.
Hearing that an an acquaintance has had a massive stroke, knocked me back down.
Carpe diem, indeed. My mantra recently, has been to take pleasure in the smallest of things

You are such a talented lady GM. I envy your skills!
GG, I suffered frequent migraines, with distorted vision, when I was younger. You have my upmost sympathy. They are so debilitating. 💐

Have a good day, whatever your plans.

Sar53 Thu 26-Jan-23 07:40:23

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the ground is damp but no frost.
An early blood test for DH then food shopping.
I hope you feel better soon GG13 flowers.
I found a venue yesterday for my 70th birthday meal in June. There will be 24 of us, including 10 grandchildren.
Enjoy Thursday everyone xx

Beechnut Thu 26-Jan-23 07:39:50

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Sunrise is starting to the east.

Your patchwork is lovely Mattie. It looks like it’s complicated but not if you know. I hope you know what I mean.

Nice to see you back Mick.

Family time for me today with my visitors coming and my local two loves.

I had a visit from my friend yesterday. She had a good grumble about her husband. Not sure that I should put her DH as when she left I told her not to kill one another 🤣 I’m afraid if that had been me and mine there would be some serious talking going on.

Have a good day folks, it’s got quite light as I’ve been writing 😀🌺

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 26-Jan-23 07:39:14

bluebalou each time I’ve done Jury Service we have been told that we can step down after we had sat through one trial.
Mind you the first time I went I sat for nearly 3 weeks in the waiting room before my name was called, at least they sent us home each day after 2pm.

Urmstongran Thu 26-Jan-23 07:36:56

Here’s Matt.

Ooh, it’s lovely to be home. Much as I love our little Spanish apartment I always miss our family and I can’t wait to see them today (only exception being our Yorkshire Lass and her ‘intended’). I think having a foot in both camps is perfect for us.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dark but dry. We are nipping over to have a brew with my stepfather late morning - after we’ve enjoyed some Burford Browns and crumpets! (👋 to you EV if you’re reading). He hasn’t left his house while we’ve been away. He sounds robust on the phone but I’ll hope to feel more reassured when I actually see how he’s doing.

I think we might pick up our Boy Wonder and L’il Miss from school. We have duty free chocolates for them to share over the weekend. I bought a bottle of strawberry Bailey’s for their mum and dad - I think they’ll love it!

Himself is looking forward to taking the Boy Wonder to football practice at tea time (Big Coat will be needed) then we have a voucher for 20% off at steak restaurant here in Urmston that people are raving over yet we’ve never been to. Great, that’s the evening meal sorted!
#lazygran

Sorry to hear you have a migraine ‘pen pal’. I hope it clears soon. Nasty things. I used to get them with the zig zag line aura but fortunately they stopped at the menopause. Mick I hope your mini break has refreshed and relaxed you, no cooking, no shopping. That boy kitten who has adopted you is so cute Ash. Bet you were both surprised it was a ‘he’! He sounds as though he has an easy going temperament too!

Susan56 Thu 26-Jan-23 07:33:42

Good morning from Shropshire.

We had the house valuation yesterday. It was higher than we expected. We have lots to think about and decisions to make.

Today we will go to the tip and the charity shop.We managed to fill the car boot with things we no longer want/need without too much thought.I think when our girls moved out and their rooms were empty we kept things we probably would have thrown away had they still been at home.Even if we don’t move it will be a good job to sort everything.

Hope the sumatriptan does the trick GrannyGravy.

Have the best you can everyone🦩

BlueBalou Thu 26-Jan-23 07:28:47

Good morning, a frost-free start here in Wiltshire! Yesterday the black ice was treacherous so DDog had to wait for her walk.
Off to stitch club this afternoon, more like a good natter with a cup of tea, just a few of us but very enjoyable.
DH has already left for jury service, he reckons that’ll be it by the end of today but I am not so sure because the paperwork he has says 2-3 weeks, several trials not just one. He seems to be enjoying it, all very secretive (of course!).
I’m enjoying the quiet days I must say!

Whitewavemark2 Thu 26-Jan-23 07:28:15

Good morning from the South Downs.

My daughter is a migraine sufferer gg13 . She now takes medication prescribed by her doctor and they have reduced in number and severity, although not completely.

Pleased to hear your little Tom is all set for his new life and with a new name. ashcombe. Long May he reign over his new found kingdom.

Fingers crossed that your house sale goes smoothly gm.

Welcome back mick after your break.

Another day of rest for me to shake off this covid fatigue - felt improved yesterday, so hopefully today should put a lid on it. Yesterday was dull, dreary and unpleasantly cold. It sounds windy out there this morning, so will get blown on our walk. I shall continue reading a book loaned to me by a friend - a diary written by a nurse in the First World War.

Vegetable stew with rouille for dinner.

baubles Thu 26-Jan-23 07:21:56

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s cold and dark.

Your hotel experience sounds interesting Mick.

Beautiful work Mattie.

Migraine is awful GG, you have my sympathy.

Another hugely busy day at work yesterday. It was going like a fair to quote one of the volunteers.

Edinburgh today, nursery and school pick ups. I hope the weather stays dry.

Wishing everyone the best possible day, especially those who are coping with illness.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 26-Jan-23 07:21:31

Good morning from a still dark but warmer Oxfordshire. Pleased your trip went well Mick hopefully the Hotel was nice and warm.
That looks an interesting patch GM and difficult on first glance.
Lovely Tom cat you have there Ash

Hair dresser today and that’s it!

Have a good day everyone

kittylester Thu 26-Jan-23 07:19:00

Good morning from a still chilly and dark North Leicestershire. We had a little rain yesterday.

Up early - DH has a hair appointment and then is volunteering while I have a hospital appointment at 11.30. Sainsbury's delivery at tea time. I aim to sit down at some point.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Jaxjacky Thu 26-Jan-23 07:14:07

Good morning all, dark in S Hampshire and I don’t hear scraping of cars. That would be good news gMattie, fingers crossed.
Sounds like an enjoyable break Mick, if a bit chilly.
Haggis was duly enjoyed last night by us and our friend, I must get some more often.
A bit of housework to do today and possibly a little gardening, weather dependent.
Enjoy your day if you can 🦩🦩

GrannyGravy13 Thu 26-Jan-23 07:06:43

Morning all

Pleased you enjoyed your break Mick

Ashcombe you have a very handsome little boy with an apt name 🐈‍⬛

I woke in the earlier hours with the beginning of a migraine, tried to relax and sleep it off, hasn’t worked so it’s sumatriptan and rest for me.

Have a good day follow 🙋‍♀️🦩

Nannagarra Thu 26-Jan-23 06:52:00

Good morning from dark and dry Sefton.
I’m pleased you enjoyed your time away, Mick, and your cathedral window patchwork is beautiful, grandMattie.
The dentist’s followed by a mooch in a nearby Aldi, meeting up with friends this afternoon and a visit from DS1 this evening will occupy me.
Enjoy Thursday everyone.
